Chapter 21:

Epilogue: The Observer Who Got In Too Deep

What Matters is How it Ends

His life on Mars started with too many questions and came to a conclusion with too many undesired answers, yet the one thing he cared about the most would not be solved today.

"What do you say, Soj? Will I ever get to see how it ends?" The man asked the robot that now only had one functional button.

1441, the King of Earth, the God of Humanity now less human than ever, did not have a destination in mind, but he had a mission given to him by the people dear to him. He was not going to stop here and suffer.

After a night of paying respects to his dead friends, he now stood on top of the volcano, looking at the last blue sunset he would see on this planet.

'What will he do?' 'Where will he go?' Those questions are of little importance. The only thing that matters is how it ends, but as fate would have it, the ending can be just another starting point.

Still, for this man, changing the scene of the play would become just as normal as changing his socks. Why? Because, just as an old partner of his once said, he is just a tool carried around by the plot. Just a device to witness the story. He is just an observer who can't help but stick his nose, whether he remembers it or not.
