Chapter 30:
The Prince of the Otherworld becomes a Highschool Student
The streets of the city were chaotic, as a scene only witnessed in fantasy movies and books was taking place in real life. Dozens upon dozens of giant humanoid spider-like monsters were lining the streets, while three beings that looked like humans were fighting them with fantastical powers.
The whole thing was being broadcast all around Japan and even reaching out to global channels. But in the city itself, many students, workers, and teachers recognized the four beings taking center stage.
“I-Isn’t that Daranya?” Remarked the manager of the local Zoo.
In a house, a couple of young boys were looking with utter shock, “T-that’s Senodaya right?”
At a local bar, filled with worried patrons, sat a math teacher, his mouth wide open, “I-Irom? What’s he doing there?”
In an apartment, one that was just celebrating the coming new year, Kei, Yusuke, Rin, and Yuuma were completely bewildered. As her eyes were glued to the television, Kei could see the boy she had thought was just an awkward transfer student, standing on top of a pile of rubble, his scarlet eyes now looking otherworldly.
“Iscodaya?”
In the streets, the fiery hands of Daranya were pushing a few Eternals back, as Senodaya was using his speed to evacuate the people on the ground. Kaus made ice walls to cover the surrounding streets, keeping the threat in a controlled area. And all of this was being planned by one man, “WHEN YOU’RE FINISHED KAUS!! HELP DARANYA OUT!!” Yelled Iscodaya, his language one the local broadcasting team could not understand.
But while he was trying to command the three, the sound of tires suddenly came from behind them. Iscodaya turned only to see about fifty armed soldiers, their guns pointed at him, “WHO ARE YOU!!!” One of the soldiers yelled.
Kei’s heart almost stopped as Yusuke grabbed her head and covered her eyes, scared that the worst-case scenario would happen. Sensing that they were tensed up, Iscodaya lifted his hands, “I AM ISCODAYA KOUSA!!” He yelled in Japanese as those who knew him were in bated breath, “I AM THE SECOND PRINCE OF THE KINGDOM OF PHIRINES!!”
The title was one no one had expected, but the soldiers were still suspicious, “AND WHERE IS THAT!!” They asked.
Iscodaya could see his brothers really needed help, so he was also starting to panic, “WE COME FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION!! I DON’T HAVE TIME TO EXPLAIN!! BUT WE ARE NOT YOUR ENEMIES!! MY SERVANT AND BROTHERS ARE FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES!! PLEASE HELP THEM!!” He begged.
The boy’s words hung in the air for a few seconds, but his request was answered as he heard the soldier’s boots start to walk up to him, “THEN BOY!! TELL ME WHAT SHOULD WE SHOOT!!” Iscodaya nodded as he pointed at the Eternals.
“THEM!! THOSE PEOPLE THAT LOOK LIKE HUMANS ARE WITH US!!” Iscodaya stated as the soldiers started firing. The Eternals’ scales caused most of the bullets to be blocked or redirected, but due to the sheer output, some were piercing through.
The leader of the group, Tinirius, found the bullets to be annoying. So as he spotted a car by the road, he pierced it with one of his limbs, and with a mighty toss, sent it towards the humans. The soldiers began to scream in fear, but before the vehicle crushed them, a wall of ice was made.
Kaus stood in front of Iscodaya and the soldiers, protecting them from the attack, “CALL FOR BACKUP YOUR MAJESTY!! THERE’S ABOUT A HUNDRED OF THEM HERE!! PHIRINES HASN’T RESPONDED YET!!” Kaus yelled in Japanese, as he quickly let down the car and went back to battle.
The soldiers were taken aback by the swordsman’s knowledge of their language, but Iscodaya quickly got them back to the situation, “One of you, please ask for reinforcements,” he asked, causing one to quickly run back to their vehicle. A thousand thoughts were going into the mind of Iscodaya as he weighed his odds.
But the Demon Prince was one that barely hesitated in warfare.
“EVERYONE!!” He yelled, loud enough for the soldiers, and the warriors to hear, “WE’LL RETREAT AND MEET UP WITH THE REINFORCEMENTS!! THEN WE’LL WAIT FOR PHIRINES’ ANSWER!!” Iscodaya’s voice carried so much authority at that moment, that the soldiers that barely knew him, instantly followed his command.
The newsgroup was put in the vehicles along with the people Senodaya grabbed. Iscodaya rode on the back as the three warriors just ran, the Eternals followed as they began to knock buildings down.
Iscodaya, who was in the same vehicle with the newsgroup and a few soldiers, decided to explain to them the plan, “I’ve called Phirines to send in reinforcements, we need to hold off before they come.”
Everything felt so surreal to those who were watching, as one of the soldiers decided to ask a question, “W-what? How? Do you guys just appear?” He asked.
Iscodaya shook his head, “We’ve developed interdimensional portals that make traveling to different realms possible, Earth is the easiest one to access in our realm of Eon, and it seems like this city in Japan is where every portal way is gathered.”
But as Iscodaya explained, a driver of one of the vehicles saw something up the road, “IT’S ONE OF THEM!! IT’S COMING TOWARDS US!! THIS ONE’S GIGANTIC!!” He yelled. Iscodaya panicked, as he thought a flank was going to come.
But as he stood up and took a look in front of him, he did see it. An Eternal, along with a winged man was rushing towards them. With a big smile, Iscodaya yelled.
“PHIRINES HAS ANSWERED!!” He told Kaus and his brothers, “STOP THE CAR!! WE TURN BACK!!” Though they were hesitant, the second they saw the monster in front of them pass by, they followed the order.
The Eternals that were attacking Earth now stared in fear, as their King was approaching them. Kratirus, his face twisted with rage, ran towards the Eternals he once called his, “TRAITORS!!” He yelled, his voice breaking the glass around him, “HOW DARE YOU EMBRASS YOUR RACE!! SURRENDER NOW AND BE EXILED!! OR FIGHT AND DIE!!”
Hearing this, half of the Eternals that were invading turned and ran. But the other half, looked upon the sight of a beast with flaming blades. “A disobedient one to the very end huh?” Drano remarked before he and Kratirus began to massacre those who stayed. Kaus and the two Princes joined right after, as the white streets were stained red with the blood of the Eternals.
Tinirius, who was in the middle of the horde, was in fear as the hulking body of his King approached him. Deciding that fighting would be more honorable than dying, he tried to charge in. But instead, he was impaled through the shoulder, and was lifted high by the limbs of Kratirus.
“A horrible excuse of a General you are Tinirius,” he growled. Kratirus’ impaling limbs were longer than that of Tinirius, so even though he tried to stab his King, he could never reach him. “Your voice was the loudest every time the topic of war would come.” With a second limb, he pierced his other shoulder, “Now let me silence you.” In a display of brute strength and brutality, Kratirus ripped Tinirius’ body in half, giving him a shameful death.
As more Eternals fled at the sight of their dead leader, a sense of calm now filled the streets. But worried that some Eternals might’ve not returned to Eon, Iscodaya commanded his brothers to search around the city in case any of them decided to prey on the humans. But immediately the second Prince was approached by the newsgroup.
Yet as they were beginning to bombard him with questions, a group of vehicles appeared. And Iscodaya saw a well-dressed man get out, “Good evening to you, visitor, I am Kaji Tanaka, the mayor of this city.”
Iscodaya stared down at him, he could see the tenseness in the man’s eyes, “I would know,” he remarked before warmly grinning, “I was supposed to get an award from you.”
The mayor’s eyes widened, “S-so that was you? The genius high schooler?” Iscodaya nodded in response. But as his father and the Eternal King looked down on the humans, he knew it was time.
Time to do the thing he came here to do. Introduce Earth to Eon.
