Chapter 20:

Other pillars

The other side of the end

Inside the four pillars appeared Axel, Lien and the explosive, which was just beginning to explode. They were all frozen in time. The first day passed. Then the second day. Then the third. And on the fourth day, Lien and Axel were pulled out of the pillars of time, leaving only the explosive inside.

Lien and Axel moved, began to breathe and looked around in surprise.

The one who pulled them out of the pillars stood next to them - a mysterious eighty-year-old man named Alron.

- "How did you get here?" - Alron asked.

Lien and Axel looked around. They looked at the sky. Two Suns shone above them.

- "Where the hell are we?" - Lien asked.

- "You are in another part of the galaxy. On the planet Lyra," - Alorn answered.

- "How did this happen?" - Axel asked.

- “I…, I didn’t know what to do with that explosive. That’s why I moved it in time and wanted to move to those, other pillars that we learned about, so that the explosion would happen there. I moved us in time and should have moved us to another point on the planet… but why did we end up on a completely different planet?” - Lien answered excitedly. After saying that, he looked at Alron. – “And who are you?”

- “I am the last representative of a disappeared civilization”.

Axel and Lien looked at Alron in surprise. They did not believe his words.

- " Let's go, I'll show you something," - Alron said and turned and headed towards the side of the rocks.

Lien and Axel exchanged surprised glances and, having no choice, followed Alron. He led them to the top of the rock, from which a view of the city that had been built on this planet opened. It looked like the ancient cities that legends had told about and that they had never been able to find.

The city was completely deserted. Lien gathered his thoughts. He looked at Alron and, after thinking for a while, asked him a question. - "You are alone here, aren't you?".

Alron looked sadly at the city. He descended from the rock and went into the city. Lien and Axel followed him.

- “We found this planet during our long space travels. Our journey was so long that a great war had already begun on Earth… The discovery of this planet was not timely for the people of Earth. We were advised to wait out the war on this planet. And while we were waiting, we began building a city,” Axel said.

- “The pillars here were supposed to serve as a portal between Earth and this planet?” - asked Lien.

- “We built them in order to quickly return to Earth…,” - answered Alron.

Lien saw a large spaceship parked nearby in the city.

- “After some time on this planet, we saw that we were aging extremely slowly,” - said Alron. He looked at his hand and continued. – “When I landed on this planet, I was twenty years old by your standards. However, thousands of years have passed, and I am only eighty. Those two suns above us… This is the effect of their radiation…”.

Lien and Axel looked at Alron in surprise.

- “This is incredible! Such a thing can turn the lives of all mankind upside down!” - said Axel enthusiastically.

- “We thought the same thing in our time… When the Earth began to be filled with rumors about what we had found here, mankind wanted to get to this planet. And these rumors only fanned the flames of war…” - said Alron.

- “What exactly did they want from you?” - asked Lien.

- “The location of the planet and the portal pillars… We were not going to hide information about the planet. We did not want to talk about it at such an unstable time… However, the situation developed in its own way. Our silence was perceived as greed and unwillingness to share. So they decided to take the planet by force,” - said Alron.

- “Was this one of the reasons for the disappearance of civilizations of those times?” - asked Axel.

- “I want to believe that it was not… They hid the portal pillars on Earth and destroyed any mention of this planet. And then silence reigned on Earth,” said Alron.

- “How many of you were here?” - asked Lien.

- “About three hundred people… In the first years, all the crew members stayed here and participated in the creation of the city. We dreamed of showing this place to the world… telling about the possibility of a long life… However, later most of them returned back to Earth. They didn't want to live here without their family," - said Alron and thought.

Lien saw a slight anger in Alron's eyes.

- "Something else happened. Didn't it?" - Lien asked.

Alron clenched his fists angrily.

- "Our civilization really wanted to share this planet with the whole world... But you know what? Do you know what they said?" - Alron said angrily.

- "They said that they planned to allow only the chosen ones to this planet. And do you know what these chosen ones are?" - Alron asked angrily.

- "Rich people..." - Axel answered.

- "This planet is three times smaller than our Earth. If all of humanity moves here, and everyone lives for thousands of years, continuing their lineage, which will live as long... then in the end, this planet will be overpopulated and become uninhabitable. We knew this. We knew that we wouldn't be able to create a utopia! However, dividing the opportunity to live here by status?! Hundreds of years of evolution, the development of science, years of life laid down by scientists for the sake of a better future… And in the end, it all comes down to status…” - Alron said angrily.

Lien and Axel looked sadly at Alron.

- “I waited hundreds of years. I hoped that something would change, but people are still not ready for this planet,” - Alron added.

- “How do you know about humanity… And besides, you don’t speak to us in the Xarak language. How do you know our language?” - Lien asked.

Alron looked at Lien.

- “Because, a few dozen years ago, I was on Earth. As well as hundreds of years ago, and hundreds of years before that,” - Alron answered.

- “He uses the pillars!” - Axel said.

- “For thousands of years, I have been visiting Earth with the help of the pillars… I haven’t been there for a hundred years. Has anything changed during this time?” - Alron asked with curiosity. He expected to hear something good from Lien and Axel.

Axel and Lien had nothing to say to Alron. So they simply looked away.

- “I see…” - Alron answered sadly.

- “Can you return us to Earth?” - Lien asked.

Alron looked at Lien in surprise.

- “Wouldn’t you like to stay here?” - Alron asked.

- “Making the world in which you live better, starting with yourself, is the task of people. They don’t always cope with it. Often forgotten about. But, as long as there are those who have not forgotten about it, the world can still be saved,” - answered Lien.

Alron smiled, exhaled heavily and walked towards the exit from the city.

- “Come on, I will send you back,” - said Alron.

Lien, Axel and Alron approached the pillars. The explosion, stuck in time, began to emit sparks.

- “Did this happen when we left here?” - asked Lien.

- “You moved the explosion in time and space. And you did it through your pillars, which are more than three thousand years old. It is not surprising that side reactions are occurring,” - answered Alron.

- “Is there a way to stop the explosion?” - asked Axel.

The explosion began to emit a strange light and sparkle even more.

- "No. And besides, it will not be possible to contain it either. It acquires properties beyond its basic form," - said Alron.

Alron thought for a moment. He looked at the pillars.

- "I will only use three pillars and leave the fourth to further contain the explosion," - said Alron.

Lien and Axel went inside the pillars, but now, they came closer to the three pillars that were supposed to be involved in the transfer.

- "I will return you to the point and approximate time from which you came," - said Alron, adjusting the pillars.

Lien looked at Alron and thought for a moment.

"Come with us," Lien offered.

Alron looked at Lien in surprise.

- “My place is here!” - Alron said and launched the pillars.

The three pillars activated the movement and Lien and Axel began to disappear.

- “Goodbye!” - Lien said.

Lien and Axel disappeared.

Alron began to direct his forces to do something with the explosion. He adjusted the fourth pillar. However, the explosion broke out and ceased to be contained. The explosion became more powerful, brighter and grew in volume.

Alron looked at the explosion in fear. But after a few seconds he accepted this development of events.

- “Well. So this planet was not destined to survive,” - Alron said.

The explosion broke out and took on a new form and became Rebirth. It erased the entire planet Lyra and began its movement across the galaxy.
