Chapter 38:

Idea, hear me out! - Hololive Idol Clash

Am I losing Interest in Writing?

I haven't told you about it, but I am a fan of Hololive... Well used to, anyway.
You see, I left the fandom when in the heat where it became too mainstream that every corner of the world talked shit about them, and I felt the need to be a white knight defending against the odds of people. It felt unhealthy; it reminded me of the time when I used to argue over DC vs Marvel superheroes.

But then why talk about it here, you might ask? Well, simply put it this way. I'm still supporting them from outside the fandom. Occasionally, I would go back to checking out some of my favorite VTubers and see what has been going on inside the fandom. I also made friends along the way, so I can't just abandon them when I leave the fandom. There is no way.

It's the same as Marvel x DC superheroes; I still occasionally check back on them for their newest movie or comic.

~~~~~~~~~
Anyway, enough about the random ramble, let's talk about Hololive Idol Clash.
First,
What is this?
It's a fan-game idea. Long story short, the game uses the concept of Clash Royale but with Hololive characters.
Story
There is an invasion in town, and monsters are roaming the city. The girls are the final hope against this invasion. But when they are almost in the urge to win, a new challenge appears, and it's more challenging than before.
They are up against themselves. Turns out the monsters have been studying their move and cloning them to fight back.
This is where the game came in. The player needs to fight to determine which is the real fighter/girl in a battle.
Menu
As I said in the "What is this?" section, this is going to be a Clash Royale fan game. The menu will be the same, but the content on it will be different.
There will be 5 tabs. From left to right, you have Shop, Units/Cards, Idol Battle, Blacksmith, and Quests.
At the shop, you can buy things that I will explain in the gameplay loop with coins and gems. Coins and gems still have other purposes. I will talk about it later.
The Units/Crads tab is where you see all of your crads that you have collected from the chest you get after your battle.
The Idol Battle tab is the main tab where you first land whenever you log in. It's where you play the main game, chests are stored, settings are displayed, news, clans,  player rank/level, and stage select.
The Blacksmith tab is where you make a lot of things with your coins and gems. I will talk about it later.
The Quests tab is... of course, a tab for quests that you have to do to get more coins and gems. It also contains minigames and extras.
Gameplay Loop
If you ever play or watch gameplay of Clash Royale (The old version with the chest), that is the gameplay loop, but I have something in mind that can change the gameplay.
You see, if you have seen the Hololive girls, they all have unique sets of things in their sleeves that build up their brand, like Suisei with psychopath, or her being Tetris' best player or a girl who is scared of bugs. Then there is Kaela being a beast with her live stream and such. So on and so on.
From this, I created an idea. How about instead of a card being upgraded or leveling up, how about when a card reaches its max entity, it ranks up and gets a new form.
Let me explain;
I'll use Suisei, for example,
Suisei (as a unit) Rank 1 (0/100)
Type: Unit
Hit Point: 453
Damage: 50
Hit Second (second): 0.5
DPS: 100
Summon Cost: 5/10
Range: Melee
Count: 1
Suisei (Meteor Strike) Rank 2 (0/200)
Type: Spell
Damage: 323
Damage to Tower: 45
Range: 4
Special: Summon 2 Hoshiyomi
Hoshiyomi's HP: 50
Hoshiyomi's Splash: 1.5
Hoshiyomi's Damage: 22.5
Since I made Suisei a legendary card, she has 5 ranks, and that means she has 5 forms.
And when you select cards, you can only use one of the forms. I mean, what is the purpose if you choose both Suisei's 1st and 2nd rank form? You're fighting against their clone. It would be stupid if you had a clone in your group, right?
What happens when the cards are fully ranked?
You'll get coins and gems. We'll talk about coins and gems later.
That's how the cards work, now onto the player's base level-up system.
In CR, when a player levels up, it intends to increase the main and side towers' HP as well as their damage. Since I make the cards unable to level up, I also am not going to make the tower level up. Instead, I make the level-up system like a battle pass. When you pass a certain level, you can get power-ups. These power-ups range from defence power, damage up, or even power-up the troop/building. For example;
Health-up: Making the three towers have 200 more HP
Shoot bigger: Making the three towers shoot 100 more damage
Shield: The towers have a 100 shield, but as time goes on, if the towers don't get hit, the shield goes up again.
So on and so forth.
Not only power-ups, but it will also give you upgrades like;
Knockback: The tower has 10% of knockback, and your troop has 2% of knockback.
So on and so forth.
Stunned chance: The unit has a 5% stun attack whenever it attacks. To units only.
Faster walk: The unit has a 50% chance to spawn with a speed boost that lasts 3 seconds.
So on and so forth.
"Wow, that's a lot. It would be OP if a player had all of it, right?"
You are correct, my friend; that's why there is a cap on how many you can bring to battle. Like Clash Royale, you can bring 10 units/cards per battle, but you can also equip 1 upgrade and 1 power-up. Upgrade and power up will vanish after one battle. That's why blacksmiths exist. Kaela will make a new one for you for the next battle.
These details will be displayed on the Blacksmith tab.
Whenever you win or lose a battle, you'll get a chest arranged from bronze, silver, gold, emerald, ruby, diamond, bibbo, and event.
These chests will give you cards, money, a bit of gem, and items.
The more wins you get, the better chest you'll get. Bibbo and events chest, however, have different mechanics. Bibbo's chest is a chest you will get in a minigame on the quests tab. The chest will be filled with more goods the more you play minigames. The event chest can be obtained by winning a minigame event whenever there is an event going on in the Quest tab.
Blacksmith tab
The first thing I want to mention, yes! Kaela will be here, and she is the one helping you sort things in the tab.
Moving on.
In this tab, you can create power-ups and upgrades with items you got from chests. These items are unique to each member. You probably have played Holocure, basically those kinds of item drops.
Each items create a different upgrade and power-up. Those are unlocked when your account level reaches a certain threshold.
Not only upgrades and powerups, but you can also create a skin in this tab.
If you collected enough unique items that represent a talent, you can fuse them and have a chance to create a new skin for that character.
Shop
Because this is a fan game, there won't be any microtransactions. This game only uses 3 in-game currencies. Coins, gems, and items. Coins can sell you gems, items, upgrades, and power-ups.
Quest
This tab will have three individual sections. One for daily, then weekly, and the last for the event.
Daily will rotate between many different challenges, from using a certain character in battle, killing a certain number of enemies, to speedrun.
"Wait, speedrun in this kind of game?"
Yes, it will force you to be good at the game.
Then there is weekly. This is also going to have you do the same as daily, but in a bigger number, and also make you create upgrades and power-ups more, as the quest asks you to.
The event quest is far different from the daily and weekly quests. It'll make you play completely different minigames ranging from Angry Birds to Candy Crush/Bejeweled.
Both daily and weekly will give you money, gems, and items. However, in the event quest, you can get a skin/costume for your units.
Finale
I will occasionally drop a card idea in here. So, prepare for that in the future.
That's it for this one. See you!
