(Intermission) Destined Lovers or Enemies - Chapter 2: Pearl vs Salina

Chapter 2: Pearl vs Salina

The two sides stand on their respective hills, staring across at each other.

Zeth shouts, "We’ve made contact with the enemy. Prepare for battle!"

The angels that didn’t go up the hill get themselves ready.

Pearl states, "Prince Zeth, I believe those are the Princess of Darkness, Sasha, and the powerful Devil Demon, Salina."

"I see. So, their invasion of this country is serious,” Zeth replies.

Pearl nods. "Yes. Let me take on Salina."

Zeth responds, "Then Sasha is mine!"

On the other hill, Sasha is practically salivating.

Salina says, "Princess Sasha. Those two are Prince of Light, Zeth, and his powerful attendant, Pearl."

Sasha grins. "This is exciting. To be able to carve out the insides of the Prince of Light and feed them to my Hellhounds! This is better than I was expecting! He’s mine!"

Salina replies calmly, "Very well. I will take on Pearl."

Zeth and Sasha launch toward each other with their fists ready. Their punches collide and cancel each other out. Zeth glares with a serious face while Sasha wears a sadistic smile.

"Be careful, Prince Zeth!" Pearl shouts.

Suddenly, Pearl is punched in the face and knocked back off the hill. The punch was delivered by Salina.

Salina smirks. "You better worry about yourself."

Pearl gets up and rubs her face. The angels around her prepare to fight Salina.

"No! Leave her to me! There are other demons you have to take on," Pearl commands.

Pearl charges her magic, ready to fight. "If that’s how it’s going to be, Salina…"

She yells, "Eat my Crystal Magic!"

Pearl puts her hands together. A line of pink crystals begins rising from the ground in a line toward Salina. Salina jumps out of the way as they rise beneath her.

Salina scoffs, "That’s too predictable."

However, the crystals that rose from the ground where she was standing crack, break off, and launch upward. This takes Salina by surprise, and she gets pelted by the strong crystals, which leave her with wounds.

As Salina starts falling back down to the ground, Pearl reaches her and punches her downward. Salina appears in pain as she is knocked down and her body starts rolling down the hill. Pearl continues to give chase.

Salina’s body reaches the bottom of the other side of the hill. Her eyes widen as she sees Pearl running toward her.

Salina releases an energy orb from her mouth, and it breaks open into many slashes of energy.

Pearl can’t dodge and takes hits from the slashes.

Salina quickly gets up and punches Pearl. She then grabs Pearl and throws her against a tree. The tree bends from the impact. Pearl is hurt, but she notices more slashes of energy are coming toward her.

Pearl rolls out of the way, then slashes to destroy the tree. She kicks the large pieces of the slashed-up tree toward Salina. Pearl uses her magic to make pink crystals grow out from the tree as it heads toward Salina.

Salina thinks to herself, “I have to destroy it completely before it reaches me!”

She uses more slashes of energy on the tree, carving it and the crystals up even more. However, the crystals still launch out at her and damage her further.

Despite the damage, Salina is able to block Pearl’s attempted punch. Pearl quickly responds with a low kick that knocks Salina off her feet. Then Pearl slams Salina onto her back on the ground.

Pearl raises her left hand, and a sharp crystal starts growing out of her palm.

"Any last words?" Pearl asks in a serious tone.

Salina grins. "Just two. Ring Binding!"

Salina releases a red ring of energy that encircles Pearl. It wraps around her upper body, preventing her arm from aiming the crystal down at Salina while also zapping her with energy.

Salina kicks Pearl off her, allowing her to stand back up.

Pearl thinks to herself, “I need to do something quick!”

Pearl forms a ball of energy in her other hand. Salina performs a few Slide Dashes to quickly reach Pearl. Salina kicks Pearl in the gut and then slashes her with her claws. Pearl grits her teeth in pain.

Pearl releases the ball of energy. It slowly moves out from her hand and grows some sharp crystals all over it. Pearl smiles, and Salina’s eyes open wide.

Salina shouts, "What are you doing!?"

"Pain," Pearl answers.

Seen from a distance, a blast goes off where Pearl and Salina are fighting.

Meanwhile, angels and demons are fighting each other all over the battlefield.

Elsewhere, Zeth and Sasha are facing each other.

Zeth asks, "What is with that sadistic look on your face?"

Sasha laughs and then answers. "The thrill! The excitement! Tearing you to tiny little pieces while carving out all of your blood and your organs in the process is filling me with the kind of excitement I have never felt before!!"

Zeth takes a step back as his eyes seemingly shiver for a moment. He quickly recomposes himself, but mutters, "Goddess damn. What is with her?"

Narrator: Pearl and Salina fight, but what happened to them is left unclear. Now, Zeth and Sasha will fight to the death.
