Chapter 3:

Zyair's Goodbye

Midnight

For a brief explanation of these “bonus” chapters, each chapter will be from my perspective. Kali, your favorite goddess of death. Each of these chapters will add a little bit more to the stories of characters that aren’t as explored in the main chapters. So, in saying that, you technically don’t have to read any “bonus” chapters to still understand the main story. But, you do get to see more of me so it has to be somewhat worth it. Also, each of these “bonus” chapters will be far more light-hearted than the main story. Just to let you have a break from the seriousness of the main story. Well the mostly serious main story. Anyway, this bonus will focus on Zyair’s backstory and his reunion with his mother in the realm of the gods. I hope you enjoy it!

“I knew I would be seeing you one of these days, Kali,” Zyair says as he enters into the realm of the dead. “I honestly thought hell would look scarier than just a few clouds.”

“This is where I work, where I send people to their desired afterlife. It’s quite a boring job.” I stand up from my throne and walk towards Zyair. “You’re shorter than I’d imagined you’d be.”

“You’re pretty when you’re not trying to kill me” He says with a smile. I’ve already told him multiple times. When I came to visit him on Earth, I wasn’t there to kill him.

“I was only trying to relay you a message from your mother.” I say, only slightly lying.

“So, you’re trying to tell me that the message involved knives flying at me?” Zyair starts to raise his voice. I hope he understands that I can send him anywhere I want, even if it pisses off Antevorta.

Before we go any further into this conversation, I guess I have to talk about my visit to Zyair about two Earth years ago. So, it all started with a banquet that was being held by the gods. For where it was being held, I can’t completely tell you. Some people like to call it heaven, but to solve any confusion I’ll just call it the realm of the gods. So basically, every Earth year all the gods and goddesses come together at a banquet to celebrate the world not ending or whatever. I never really liked these banquets, because it always ends with me being asked a favor. Since I’m a death goddess, I have a very close connection to Earth and can easily travel from the realm of the gods to it. So, I’m usually a messenger for gods and their demigod children. Well you want to guess what happened at that banquet? Antevorta asked me to deliver a message to Zyair. Not wanting any hard feelings with any other goddesses, I accepted her request. So, after the banquet I teleported into Zyair’s kitchen on Earth. This is how that went down:

I teleport to Zyair’s kitchen, sitting right on his counter next to his sink. I must’ve caught him off guard since when he walked into the kitchen his face turned as white as a ghost.

“Are you here to kill me too?” Zyair says as he stumbles backwards, tripping over himself and landing on his butt.

“Do you want me to?” I ask him as he starts to inch backwards out of the kitchen.

“I can only assume that you are some kind of goddess since I can’t tell your future at all” He says, coming to a complete stop. I hop off the counter and walk over to him. “If you are a goddess, then you can’t kill me, but if you are a demon or something then I have to kill you first”

“You sure do talk a lot for a demigod” I say as I scan his kitchen for something to throw at him. When I say throw I mean telekinesis. If you thought earlier if I actually could physically drop a tree on Kyle then that’s a funny misunderstanding. Whenever I pick up an item using telekinesis, it gets surrounded by a dark purple fog. It looks pretty cool. Anyway, back to this conversation.

“You look awfully weak for a demon!” Zyair hops up and throws a punch at me. He soon realizes what a stupid mistake that is. I catch his fist with my hand, and throw him into his living room with my telekinesis. His body makes a funny thump noise when his back smacks against the wall. “What the hell are you?”

“I thought you already came to the conclusion that I’m a demon. I’d hate to ruin your perception of me, but demons don’t actually exist.” I smile because I perfectly set him up for the next part of the show. I know I could just give him his mothers message and leave, but I feel like this is so much more fun.

“What do you mean demons don’t exist? If you’re not a demon that wants to rip me into pieces, slap chunks of my body onto a long stick, and eat me like a fucked up kabab. Then what are you?” I’m actually appalled by how much of an idiot this guy is!

“I’m a goddess dumbass”

“Well that makes you good doesn’t it?” he asks as he starts to get up. Before he can get up completely I use my telekinesis to take a kitchen knife out of a drawer and fling it at him. I stop the knife an inch away from his face.

“Not all goddesses are good. My name is Kali. I’m one of the goddesses of death.” I laugh a little due to the sheer terror that is present on Zyair’s face. I let the knife drop to the ground, landing right in between his legs and sticking in the ground for dramatic effect.

“If you aren’t going to kill me, then what do you want?” He asks. I don’t know how dumb a human can get, but this shit must be towing the line. I just introduced myself as a goddess of death and then he really has the balls to say “If you aren’t going to kill me..”. Don’t test me Zyair, I can come up with millions of ways to end your life in the most brutal way possible. Having control of the afterlife, I can make sure he goes through terrible pain for the rest of time itself. But, even I’m not that cruel. Haha, just kidding. I grab another knife from a drawer with my telekinesis and throw it at him. This knife stabs him right through the stomach. Blood gushes out of his wound. His face turns from terror to complete shock. He coughs up some blood, which lands right in front of my feet. I guess I’ve had my fun.

“I’ll leave your mother’s message on your kitchen table.” I say as I get ready to teleport back to the realm of the gods.

“Wait!” I hear Zyair yell as I teleport away. In an instant, I’m back at my throne on top of the endless clouds. So I gave him the message. Was that good enough for Antevorta? Oh wait.. Did I ever fix him up after I stabbed him? Shit!

Well I ended up teleporting back and healing Zyair’s wounds. It was slightly awkward helping the guy you just bullied, but it’s fine.

Back to the current situation. “So you’re trying to tell me that message involved knives flying at me?” Zyair says, already getting ahead of himself.

“I just needed to bully you a little bit.”

“I feel like almost KILLING ME is a little bit more than bullying” Zyair gets up in my face.

“You want me to ‘bully’ you for all of eternity” I say with a wide smile.

“No no no.. I’m okay. I’m sorry for offending you Kali.” Zyair whimpers and backs up a little bit.

“So I’m going to assume that Kyle killed you. Finally he listened to my advice.”

“You knew about that too!! Kali you son of a-”
