Chapter 8:
Crazy About You
The following morning, Amilda walked out of her room to begin the household chores but met Sahil in the living room.
"Good morning, Saab Avil." She greeted and Sahil smiled.
"Ready for the morning chores?" He asked and she nodded.
He got up to his feet and cleared his throat.
"Get back to your room." He said.
Aayan, who stood at the edge of the wall, smiled on hearing what his brother said. He was happy and felt like hugging his brother.
Minutes later, Amilda left for her room, and Sahil smiled.
"Aayan, come out." He said, and Aayan wondered how his brother knew he was hiding.
He walked out from his hiding place and went to hug his brother, who laughed.
"How did you know that I was hiding?" He asked his brother.
"Remember, I am your brother," Sahil said, and they laughed.
Seconds later, Sahil sat back and ordered his brother to sit beside him.
"Aayan, I know about your sexual escapade with my wife." He said, and Aayan blinked his eyes.
"I am sorry, I never told you of it," Aayan said, and Sahil held his hand.
"Do not worry. I am sure you will like to know how I got to know that." Sahil said.
"Yes, Brother, I would love to know," Aayan said, nodding his head.
Sahil brought out his phone and showed him a video sent to him by Muni.
Aayan took the phone from his brother's hand and stared at it in shock.
"She actually sent it?" Aayan asked, and Sahil nodded.
"She mistakenly sent it to me," Sahil said, and Aayan shook his head.
"I do not think so," Aayan said, and Sahil felt nervous.
"Why is it?" He asked.
"She does threaten me with all the videos she makes of us together. She threatens me that she is going to send the last video of us if I don't have sex with her." Aayan said. "She told me to have sex with her the day after she recorded this, but I refused, and I wonder why she sent it."
Sahil took in a deep breath as he couldn't imagine his wife doing that to his brother.
"Why exactly did she do that?" He asked.
Aayan held his brother's already shaking hands.
"She wants you to get angry with us. She wants you to give her more space to be intimate with me." Aayan said.
"Why does she have to threaten you?" Sahil asked.
"I pleaded with her not to send it to you," Aayan said.
Sahil moved close to his brother and hugged him as tears trickled down his face.
"You will leave here with me by next year." He said, and Aayan nodded.
"Alright, brother." He said and got up to his feet.
"But about your love," Sahil said, and Aayan smiled, looking at his brother as he understood what his brother meant.
"I will visit her house and together we will know my house." He said, and Sahil smiled.
"Aren't you scared that she will let Muni know of your whereabouts?" Sahil asked and Aayan smiled.
"I trust my instinct; she can't and won't allow her aunt to know." Aayan said and Sahil smiled.
Aayan went back to his room happy.
Meanwhile, in Muni's room, she paced the room.
"I can't let Aayan leave me. It will be better to die before that happens." She said and smiled.
She picked up a plastic knife and began to laugh.
"How can I give up like this?, No, Never. I can't give up so easily. Sahil has to pay for this. He has to pay. He started all this by himself and thinks he can end it so easily?" She asked herself. "Why would you leave your wife, all because she lost two pregnancies? This is the reason I will continue to hurt Amilda. I didn't want her mother to marry my brother, which she did. She gave birth for my brother while I have no child."
She walked to the door and then to the bed.
"I am going to kill Sahil to get my Aayan. I do not care if I also kill Amilda. I love Aayan, and that is all that matters. Sahil exhausted his grace over me after my much pleading." She said.
She heard a knock on the door and dropped the plastic knife.
She knew that it was her husband who was knocking, so she kept a smile on her face and went to open the door.
"You should do your duty," Sahil said, feeling irritated, and Muni went to do the house chores.
Hours later, Muni came out of the kitchen with a tray that contained plates, but they all refused to have her food as they had already gone out to eat.
Amilda felt sad for her aunt and didn't want her to feel bad, so she decided to taste a little of the food, but Aayan held her back.
"You all make me look bad," Muni said, but they all left to their various rooms.
In her room, Amilda walked around, then walked to the window and leaned against its side.
She kept thinking if what they just did to her aunt was right.
"I shouldn't be thinking about her right now." She said and continued looking out of her window.
Minutes later, she heard a knock on the door and thought it was Aayan.
She immediately ran to the door and opened it. She saw her aunt standing by the door.
"Aunt, what brings you here?" She asked.
Her aunt brought out a spoon.
"I just want you to have a little bit of what I made," Muni said.
"Aunt, why do you still want me to have a taste?" She asked.
"I would like you to have a taste so that I won't feel like I am the only one getting to taste the food," Muni said.
"And I say she won't eat your meal." They heard Sahil's voice, and Amilda nodded.
Muni left the meal angrily.
Aayan thanked his brother and went to hug Amilda.
"Why did your brother do that?" Amilda asked Sahil, who held her hand.
"You are a young girl, and that is the reason you don't understand." He said, and Amilda opened her mouth and pushed him slightly.
"Let me understand." She said.
"She might want to poison you." He said,
"And why would she do that?" Amilda asked.
"She loves me, and I love you." He said, and Amilda shook her head.
"I don't believe that." She said.
"If I may ask, why don't you believe? " Aayan said.
"Simply because she wants to destroy my family and not kill me," Amilda said.
"You think she can't achieve it without you in the picture?" Aayan asked.
He couldn't hold his laughter. He laughed at her.
"You are laughing." She said, and he immediately stopped the laughter.
"My love, you think she can't do that. She can, and she has done it before." Aayan said, making Amilda shake.
"How, when?" She asked.
"Let's go in," Aayan said, nd they went into the room.
Aayan ordered her to lock the door, but Amilda reminded him that the lock had been removed.
"Alright, let's go to my room." He said.
They held their hands and walked to Aayan's room, ignoring Muni's stare.
Reaching his room, Aayan locked the door and held Amilda as they both went to his bed.
"How?" Amilda asked again as she was shivering.
"To marry my brother." He said, and Amilda covered her mouth.
"You are shocked, d'you think?" He asked and Amilda nodded.
"Your brother didn't love my aunt?" Amilda asked, and Aayan smiled.
"He actually loves her," Aayan said.
"I would like to explain it." He said and looked into Amilda's eyes.
"Alright, I am all ears," Amilda said, and Aayan smiled at her choice of words.
"My brother couldn't choose between your Aunt and Priya. Priya had a chance of marrying my brother, while your aunt had a little chance. This made them rivals. Your aunt decided to ruin Priya's family as a way to stop Priya from getting married to my brother. " He said and paused." I witnessed everything while my brother was too busy to notice. A day came when Priya was given some drink by your aunt, who promised Priya that they were good. She died not long after, and this got me scared.
Priya's sister came to confront my brother and your aunt. Your aunt said she was going to take care of it.
A few days later, the family came to plead with us, and the young girl who came to confront us had bruises all over her face. "
"Do you know where they are?" Amilda asked, and he shook his head.
"They left the country days later when they couldn't stand to face the public," He said.
Amilda hugged Aayan as she was scared of her aunt.
