Chapter 18 - The Dead Realm (1)

-On the Top of a Mountain-

-Liz's POV-

"Tell me, how did your Realm become a Dungeon and why is it dead?" The old man gave out a long sigh while looking at the sky.

"My name is Silver. It all started with the invasion of the people who came from the sky. At first they were very friendly with us. They helped us clear the monsters constantly attacking every settlement and also in curing the incurable disease that had struck our realm. As the time went on, everyone started to love them and we all could've been able to live in peace while helping each other, is what I thought as well as everyone thought but, that was our mistake. A few years later, they started searching for resources, asking us for help and we helped them find the resources, not knowing that it would be the start of our nightmare." He didn't say anything after this, probably remembering the nightmare as he looked at the scenery around us as we stood on a ledge of the mountain.

"What happened after you gave them the resources?" Vorgrim asked him.

"The...they started building some sort of pillar with the resources we gave them. They did not tell us what it was until more of their people came after the pillar was established. A portal had opened up near the pillar and more of their people came to our world. We thought that it was good to have more people and help in cleansing the monsters from our realm but, we were so...so wrong that we thought the monsters in the wild were more dangerous, not knowing that we had even more dangerous monsters close to our home and people." He gave out another long sigh before looking at the town and looking me in the eye, his aged face telling the stories of his past experiences.

"My people were slaughtered like pigs and they didn't even leave the children, they were the real monsters. Their leader, the one we trusted and helped me in my needs, had slaughtered my wife and children in front of my eyes. This realm became a battlefield, not just of my people and theirs, there were more who came from the sky and it all ended when our realm's resources were drained out and everyone just left, like a toy which made them happy for a short time and was no longer needed, most likely because they found a new toy."

The old man was crying by the end of his explanation.

"Then how did your Realm become a Dungeon?" Reinard asked him.

"There is a Rule in the Universe for all Realms, Worlds and every Planet out there. 'If a place is destroyed beyond repair and has no purpose at all, it will be converted to a Dungeon for other Worlds,Realms or Planets and will start opening paths to the them'. It may be salvation for the people of destroyed worlds but even I don't know why they open these paths." He said after wiping the tears from his face.

We didn't ask him anymore questions, teleporting him back to the walls of his town. There was nothing left in this Realm other than the monsters and some people. As the old man had said, it was a Dead Realm with no hope except for becoming a Dungeon and opening a new path to another Realm, World or Planet.

Leaving the old man on the wall, we left the dungeon using the teleportation spell and returned back to my penthouse in New York. There was no benefit in helping the people of the Dead Realm, the only thing that was beneficial was the information on how Dungeons came to be or more like how Dead Realms became Dungeons.

-New York-

-Liz's POV-

We were sitting on the lounge chair, with our thoughts going around the information that we just got. The Realms becoming Dungeons, the Invasions, the Worlds that are waging War around the Universe.

"So the Invasion has already started and the S Rankers in the wild are collecting resources to build a pillar?" Vorgrim asked the question which I had on my mind.

"Hmmm, from the amount of S Rankers I found in the no man's land, they seem to be from different Worlds and this Invasion is going to be a War with a lot of Realms and other Worlds. We could kill those S Rankers but it will only benefit us for a short while, with the whole Universe at War, the time for some of them to invade us will come anyways." I said while sighing, there was no point in trying to kill all the S Rankers in no man’s land and even if we spread the news to kill them, some might escape making it speed up the invasion in turn. Even killing them discreetly will not make much of a difference. There’s hundreds of thousands of them, it would take a lot more time, which could be used to build our defenses for the Invasion.

"Let's just forget about this for now and start worrying about the future when we get to that point." Reinard says, understanding the meaning behind my words, a waste of time and resources. We also wouldn't know who our enemies were, before we actually stood face to face with them.

"Yeah, we should just focus on building that army and I'll complete studying the world teleportation spell." I say as we move out of the penthouse to spend the rest of the day doing our jobs of managing the Guilds.

“Call me if you need anything.” Reinard says before getting inside his sports car and driving off.

-Next Day-

-Reinard's POV-

It was morning time and Liz had already gone to her Guild with Vorgrim. I was on my way to the Base in New York when I got a call.

"How did it go?" I asked the person on the other side of the call.

"It's done boss, it will be implemented in the next Guild meet." Came the reply.

"Good. Make sure that it is displayed for all to see."

"Yes Boss."

-Liz's POV-

'Paper work is always boring!' I let out a sigh and look at the clock. It had not even been two hours and I was already bored out of my mind.

"Master, there is a board meeting after lunch." Vorgrim said to me while looking at my schedule for today.

"Why is there a board meeting suddenly?" I asked out of curiosity because as far as I know, these board meetings don't happen unless something big is happening or there are issues in the Guild.

"It's regarding the current situation of yours with that Leo guy. The board members want to discuss what to do with it. I think that they might want to remove you from your position. Although it is not possible because you own 65 percent of total shares which they don't know about. They just know that you have 50 percent shares." Vorgrim says.

"Good. It will be better to just remove the traitors." It had only been a few months since the Guild was founded and there’s even traitors inside now.

I had set those 15 percent share’s owner as a mysterious person to throw the bait at those traitors. I just didn't expect things to move so suddenly.

-A few Hours Later--

-Board Meeting Room-

"Are you sure about this?" Asked an old looking man to the other people in the boardroom.

"Yes we are sure. I have already gotten hold of the remaining 15 shares that were unknown." Answered a young looking woman.

"Yes, we have to make this decision. Our Guild's future depends on this decision." Answered a young looking man.

'This young generation. Don't even know that this decision might make it impossible for them to work here. All we have are 35 percent shares and the other 15 percent remaining are unknown. Although they say that they have got a hold of it, there might arise problems later on, if the owner of those 15 percent shares decides to withdraw at the critical moment. How can they be so sure about overthrowing a founder with 50 percent shares.' The old man thought to himself and just as the people were about to discuss more, they heard the door opening and the founder entered the room with her new secretary. The founder wore a white business suit as she walked inside with her heels clicking on the floor.

-Liz's POV-

I walked inside the room and took a seat at the head of the oval table with Vorgrim standing right behind me. Everyone got up and gave me a greeting and sat down.

"So what is the reason for this meeting?" I asked.

"Miss Scarlet, I know this may be rude of us and you might think that we are trying to overthrow you and take over the Guild but, we just want to handle the situation regarding your scandal and for that reason we have all decided that it is better for you to take a break and come back to the Guild after the situation has died down a little. Although Mr.Leo is a famous man, we have seen a lot of his women falling to rock bottom after soaring high and we don’t want something like that to happen to you." Said a young woman, whose name I didn't know and wouldn't even want to know.

"Are all of you sure about this decision?" I asked them, their reasoning was on point as Leo had done those things to his women, he changed women like clothes, he was a playboy but, the intentions of the people in the boardroom were different

"Yes we are sure and we had even held a voting for it before you came." Said a young man sitting by the side of the young woman. He provided the votes with the name, that gave me a general idea of who the traitors were.

"Good. It is true that the situation needs to be handled and it is already in the process of being handled by my secretary. The Guild does need redistributing of shares and for that reason I will have your shares liquidated and bought by the Guild." I said while Vorgrim went up to them and distributed them a paper.

"What is the meaning of this??" The young man shouted while not even looking at the paper, having confidence in the mutual decision of the board members, although some did not agree, the majority was on their side forcing others to vocally agree with them.

"Just read the paper and get out of this room and never come back to this Guild. If I see you near this Guild, only your dead body will go out next time." I curtly replied to him and all the members who voted against me.

Reading the papers handed to them, the traitors were shocked and didn't have any word to say, they just left with giving threats, like the Guild will fall by my hands. The papers contained information on their dark sides and also the fact about me holding 65 percent shares.

I looked at the remaining members who hadn't voted against me. "You all are also free to leave if you think this Guild will fall because of me. Although I'll give you a warning, choose what you decide carefully because the ones who went against me today will not be left alive." The room didn't have cameras and also there were no recording devices, so I just straight away threatened their lives and gave them the choice of deciding their own fate.

A few minutes of thinking later, the members left the room with none of them choosing to leave the Guild.

-At Liz's Office-

"How do you want me to deal with them?" Vorgrim asked me as I was sipping on a cup of coffee.

"Take care of them properly. Get every one of their assets and kill them brutally in front of their families and also take care of their families, I don't want any roots to sprout and grow into vengeful trees."

"Oh, also ask Scarlet to take my place for a while, I want to go back to the Guild and search for the Dead Realms inside the dungeon." I said to Vorgrim.

"When is the Guild Meeting?" I asked Vorgrim.

"It is in two days. The venue is in New York." Vorgrim replied.

"Okay, I'll go and take a look at the new dungeon that opened today, it was reported to be an S Rank dungeon and I want to explore it a bit." I had gotten this information a few hours ago from Scarlet, who was busy exploring dungeons near New York, as main branch of The Cuties had recently moved here.

-Ten Minutes Later-

I stood in front of the portal to a new dungeon and showed my Guild ID as Scarlet, which was an S Rankers ID. I entered the dungeon and the scene changed from that of New York City to that of a Realm with lots of hidden places and full of monsters.

I walked around for a while, killing a bunch of big bug type monsters. They had sharp blades as their hands, their bodies made of steel but I just sliced them up with mana blades and just made my way towards the hidden place that was near me.

The thing I wanted to avoid most was a group of adventures but I guess it was not my day. A group of five people were following me as I made short work of the bugs and they just kept following me while using an invisible spell on themselves. They had been following me for more than an hour, having been fed up with their following and free way to a hidden place. I decided to confront them.

"What do you people want from me?" I asked the man hidden with the group, who looked like he was their leader. They didn't respond until I asked them the same question and this time they took off their invisible spell.

"So you knew we were following you?" Asked their leader.

"Yes, so what is it that you want? I am asking this for the last time. If you don't answer me now. I will kill all of you." I replied to him bluntly.

"We are five people and you are threatening us, are you serious?" A woman replied while taking out a sword from her dimensional space, ready to strike me.

"Just answer the question." I was losing my patience because I didn't have a lot of time. I had to deal with this hidden place and go to the dinner that Reinard invited me for before the board meeting.

"Fine, we are following you because you might know something that we don't know about this place, from the way you are going and the instant kills of the bug type monsters." Replied their leader. As soon as I got his answer, I just vanished from my spot, instantly killing them and teleporting directly towards the hidden place.

-The Leader's POV-

"Who does she think she is, giving us threats and telling us that she'll kill us all." Said a man in my team. It was a temporary team given to me by my Guild and they were hot headed, all of them. I looked at the man but what I saw left me shocked. The man's head was separated from his body and his limbs were sliced into fine meat. The same happened with the others. I wanted to run away but, the moment I took a step. My legs fell off and my vision went black.

-Liz's POV-

"Fucking idiots.”
