Chapter 19:
Return of The Conqueror
-Inside the Hidden Place-
-In A Mansion's Office-
"Master, we have spotted a few people, a bit north of our town and by the looks of it, the one leading them is heading towards our place and the others are following her." Said an old looking butler.
"Do you know how strong they are?" Asked a rather young woman sitting on the chair in front of a desk full of papers.
"Yes master, the one leading them is a woman and the other five people are following her, keeping their distance from her, they are likely spies or something. Because of the distance we can’t gauge their exact Levels but, the woman at the front is able to kill the monsters in a single mana blade strike, although we couldn't see her Level, it has to be above 200 at least to kill these monsters with one strike." Answered the old butler.
"Prepare our men and I'll personally have to visit this woman, she might be more than we could handle. We’ll have to be careful." Said the young woman.
"Yes Master."
-Liz's POV-
"Fucking idiots." I killed the five people following me and teleported right in front of the hidden place.
Looking at the dome, around the size of more than twenty football fields, I could see that the dome was made of runes. The runes looked like complicated words written in a language unknown to people but for me that was no problem. I had a spell that could translate any runes to be readable, so using that translation spell I could decipher the meaning of these runes.
"So there's invisibility, shock absorption, defense, illusion, as the main base for it, with a lot of runes, using the spells that are fired at the dome to convert them into energies for the dome to protect itself, huh." The dome in front of me can withstand the power of even the S Rankers. I didn't want to destroy this dome, so I just teleported inside the dome and immediately an alarm went off, alerting everyone of my intrusion. I could see a beam pointing towards the sky above me. It gave everyone my location.
The next moment I could sense a lot of people leaving the town a few hundred meters away from me, all flying at high speed towards me. Their Levels was not something that I could see but the mana they were radiating from their bodies was enough to tell me that they were not a threat to me.
-In the Mansion-
-The Young Woman's POV-
I had just finished equipping my gear when I heard an alarm going off and highlighting the area of intrusion. I went outside the mansion and headed straight for the beam. A person entering the dome was not something to take lightly. The dome was built by our ancestors, able to withstand the force of entire armies.
My army was already prepared and the people of the town were also heading in the same direction as some flew right behind me and some were running at high speeds below me.
"Miss Ren, how strong is the enemy?" I heard a voice from my left side as I was flying towards the beam.
"She's at least above Level 200 from the way she killed those bugs instantly. She might also be on the same Level as those Invaders." I replied while glancing at the commander of my army, a middle aged man.
"Let me first talk to her, then we'll think about attacking her or not, because sometimes even power shown and Level seen could be deceiving."
"Yes Miss Ren, we'll follow your lead."
-Liz's POV-
A few minutes of standing at the same position as before. I looked on as the people arrived, fully equipped and ready to kill if needed. There was determination in their eyes. A total of 100 people were standing 50 meters away from me but none of them approached me until a young woman came and said a few words to the army of 100 people. She then started walking towards me while holding a shining curved blade in her hand.
"Who are you and what do you want?" The young woman asked me as she reached and stood 12 feets distance away from me. She had blonde hair, a fair skin tone and red eyes.
"My name is Lizandra, I am here to talk and not slaughter your people nor to kill you." I replied while looking her in the eyes.
-Ren's POV-
"My name is Lizandra, I am here to talk and not slaughter your people nor to kill you." The woman replied, she looked to be the same age as me with a beautiful face, had white hair, blue eyes and a curvaceous figure. She didn't carry any gear on her or even her weapon.
"How can we trust you?" I asked her but the only thing I got in reply was "You can't and you also don't have an option."
"You do know that I have an army of people behind me right?" I asked her but didn't get any reply.
"Fine we'll talk but it has to be here." A talk wouldn’t harm anyone and I was sure that I could defend myself from her. I didn’t even sense any aura from her and she was at Level 200. She hadn’t even reached the Tier’s yet. I had my doubts about her Level but at this point, it was not worth fighting over. A talk was all she needed and I could give that to her.
"Sure, let's just sit and have a little chat, alright?" She said and summoned two chairs and a table between us. I gave my people a nod and we both sat down.
"So what do you want to talk about?" I asked her, curious about her questions.
"Tell me about the Dead Realm and the Invasion." The moment I heard that, I got up and pointed my sword at her. "How do you know about Dead Realms and Invasions?" I asked her while glaring at her. I recalled the memories from years before our Realm was declared Dead by the System and the Invasions that took place during that.
"I am the one asking, not you. SIT DOWN!" As she said those words my body could no longer move and I could feel an invisible force that made me sit on the chair again. I couldn’t understand how a Level 200 hundred woman made me sit down just with her words.
"Answer my questions and I'll go." She said and summoned two cups on the table, steaming hot with tea.
"Fine." I said while gritting my teeth. I guess levels really are deceiving. My people were about to attack her, but they didn’t step forward. My gaze made them back down.
-Liz's POV-
The woman was more cooperative than I had thought. She was not a reckless idiot, who went around swinging her weapon first before asking questions. After putting some pressure on her by releasing my Aura, she sat down to answer my questions.
I had a lot of questions about this Dead Realm which had opened a path to Earth. The path was still open unlike the other Dead Realm I had gone to before this. The one I went to before must have had some sort of glitch because the path to that Dead Realm was closed, with no entrance or even an exit the moment I entered it with Vorgrim.
"What do you want to know about the Dead Realms?"
“Everything that is there to know. From how your Realm was invaded to the reason why you are using this dome to hide yourselves from outsiders.”
“How do you know that our Realm is Dead and an Invasion happened here?” She asked me.
“It’s a rule. If a place is destroyed beyond repair and has no purpose at all, it will be converted to a Dungeon and will start opening paths to the new Worlds or Realms.” I said.
“Well, that is true, the System notified us of being a Dead Realm and opening paths to other Worlds and even Realms.” The woman said while sighing.
“The invasion started about 5 years ago with an army of people Invading our Realm right after it was declared Dead, they numbered in hundreds of thousands and they came in some kind of flying machines that had guns on them. They started a war as soon as they came and began slaughtering everyone. Now me and my people, with a few other Lords, decided to hide ourselves in the Domes to prepare for round two.” She gave me a curt reply while looking at her people and giving them a reassuring look. She did not go into explaining the war but only giving a brief response about it.
“What do you mean by round two?” I asked her as I took a sip from the cup of tea.
“It means that they are coming back with reinforcements. Our people had tried to kill all of them but some escaped. We are waiting for them to come back and being prepared is better than not being prepared.”
“So when did this place become a Dead Realm, if it’s not even been fully eradicated or dead at all?”
“It had become a Dead Realm before the Invasions even started, we are getting visitors like you every now and then.”
“Where are these visitors then?”
“Dead.”
“I see. So an invasion happened 5 years ago with people coming to this Realm using high-tech aircrafts and gunning your people. You all somehow managed to make them retreat and now you are hiding and preparing to fight back. Then why is this Realm considered Dead by the System when there’s still resources and people? Or is it that the resources are not valuable enough for the System to consider it alive?”
“We do have the resources but all that is left are some minerals and food which the System doesn’t find valuable enough and has declared our Realm as Dead. We all have got the notification through the System.”
“Hmm, I think that’s enough for now because you are having a few guests to attend to.” I say and make the chairs, table and the cups of tea disappear with a snap of my finger, almost making the sitting woman fall down. I had more questions about how Dead Realms formed and how they were converted to Dungeons, opening paths to new Worlds or Realms but alas, there was something more important than this discussion and the woman in front of me would have to prepare for it.
“What are you talking about?” The woman asked, not sensing the danger above the dome.
“Your Invaders are here to pay back the humiliation you’ve caused them. The reinforcements they’ve brought now might be more than you can handle.” I say to her as I look through the dome a few kilometers away and see the aircraft or more like a battleship that’s made to destroy everything. The design of the ship was that of a sword. I didn’t know what it's made of or even the weapons that were placed on it. But from the looks of it, the ship was carrying at least a billion people. All above Level 200. This might be the time when I get to see how powerful Tier 1’s and Tier 2’s are.
A man came near us and spoke to the woman, about the Invaders coming back and the sight of a huge sword flying in the skies of their Dead Realm. A few minutes later all the people left and headed towards their town.
I was left alone to fend for myself. ‘Maybe I can help them if the power of these Invaders is below Vorgrim’s Level.’ I thought to myself and decided to stay for a while and observe.
-Ren’s POV-
“What’s the situation right now?” I was in our base camp right outside the town, standing with my commander and the rest of the people to know the current situation.
“My lord, we don’t exactly have much information, but we are sure that the sword in the air has more people than the last time. The rest of the lords are already on their way to the frontier, we should hurry and help them.” said my commander.
“Alright let’s move out.” It was a rushed move but we didn’t have much time to discuss and do formations to defend and kill the invaders.
-Liz’s POV-
Having created an Invisible Barrier around me to hide my position, I observed as the woman and her people left the dome and headed straight towards the frontier. I could see that there were already many people at the frontier. I remembered that I had a dinner date with Reinard but, I guess that'll have to wait- “What happened to our dinner date, darling?” -or not. I heard Reinard’s voice from behind me. I turned around to see my Handsome Hubby, wearing a white color suit, with neatly combed golden hair. His handsome face and that charming smile of his ‘Ah..my heart’. It was like an arrow was shot through my heart that made me fall in love with him again. I walked over to him and hugged him.
“I am really sorry Hubby, the dinner will have to wait for a while, there’s a problem in this Realm.” I whispered in his ear.
“Oh, so what is stopping my Sweetheart from going on a dinner date with her Handsome Husband?” Reinard whispered in my ear, making my body shiver.
We both looked at the scene at the frontier as I explained to him the whole story of this Realm and how we might be able to help these people and also how we can take advantage of this situation.
“So what you want to do is ‘help’ them and take all of them back to Earth.” Reinard asked me.
“In short, yes I want that. I want them in the army that we are building to defend Earth. I also want the Tech from the Invaders. So we will have to be careful and try not to destroy that sword battleship. They might be in Tier 1’s and Tier 2’s but we can’t say for sure how much destruction they are capable of. We’ll observe for a while and then execute the plan of ‘helping’ them.” I said to Reinard and we both teleported a few kilometers near the frontier and floated in the air, inside the barrier I had made to observe the battle.
