Chapter 4:

Chapter Four

seigneur du crime de haut rang

After hours of investigation, Lieutenant Duval remained the prime suspect in everyone's eyes. All the evidence pointed to him, but there was no conclusive evidence to conclusively prove his guilt.

Mr. Carman du Vallée stood before the passengers and train staff and said in a calm voice, "Despite everything we have gathered, there is not enough evidence to convict the train staff member who raised suspicions about him. We cannot accuse anyone without clear proof."

He then looked at Basil and said, "As for you, Lieutenant Duval, we cannot ignore the evidence linking you to the crime, but justice requires that we be vigilant."

Carman turned to everyone and smiled calmly. "Therefore, I propose a plan that will help us uncover the truth. We will need your cooperation."

He paused for a moment, then continued, "We will closely monitor every movement and action on the train. I will ask the train staff to record any unusual behavior they see, and we will ask the passengers to be vigilant and report anything that raises their suspicions."

Karman added firmly, "We will create an atmosphere of pressure on the criminal, so he feels he is being watched, and we will wait for his reaction."

Karman looked at Jean-Claude and said, "Mr. Detective, I will need your expertise in reading behavior and analyzing actions. Together, we will uncover who is truly behind this crime."

Karman was harboring a deeper plan in his mind, one that would trap the seemingly innocent employee without him even realizing it, while everyone continued to believe that the focus was on Lieutenant Gabriel.

Karman smiled secretly, knowing that this plan would bring them closer to the truth than anyone expected.
