Chapter 5:
Flames of Vengeance: The Dragon Within
(Rise of Drakther)
Scene: The Battlefield – Ashen Hills Beyond Crestholm
The sky was stained in blood-red dusk, the battlefield soaked with the cries of clashing steel and roaring fire. Bodies littered the ground like forgotten dreams. The South King, Raiku Arkus, stood bloodied and battered, his once-pristine silver armor now torn and darkened with soot and blood. His sword was shattered, and his left arm hung uselessly at his side.
Across from him stood King Zorak, the Legendary Dark God, towering and dark as an eclipse. At his side loomed Kagutsume no Yurei, the wicked magician, his eyes glowing with blackened void energy, a malevolent smirk playing across his lips.
The once-proud Southern armies had dwindled. The 10 elite mages who accompanied Raiku lay scattered, burned, and broken. Only a few soldiers remained standing — exhausted, spirit-drained, bleeding.
Raiku coughed blood, falling to his knees. The battlefield trembled as Kagutsume, with his staff raised, chanted a forbidden incantation.
"From the Depth of Nether—Rise the Blade of Silence!"
A giant spectral scythe appeared in the air and tore through the sky, descending upon Raiku like a judgment of death. The South King closed his eyes as the weapon pierced through him.
Everything stopped.
His body collapsed to the ground.
Scene: The Realm Between Realms
Raiku's soul found itself drifting in a realm of pitch-black silence. No wind, no light. Just darkness. He slowly stood, gasping, "Where… where am I?"
Suddenly, two massive crimson eyes opened in the void.
A deep, ancient voice echoed through the darkness.
"You
have arrived, child of light."
Raiku’s breath caught in his throat. A brilliant red glow illuminated the void,
revealing a colossal, majestic red dragon—its wings spanning the cosmos, its
scales pulsing like molten stars.
"Wh-What are you?" Raiku
whispered.
"I am Drakther. The Celestial Great
Dragon. I have been sealed inside you since your birth, waiting for this
moment."
Raiku’s heart pounded. "Then… you’re the one grandfather spoke of. The
sealed light…"
Drakther's voice softened.
"You are dying, Raiku Arkus. Your
body has reached its end. But your will… your fire… still burns."
Raiku clenched his fists. "I can't move… I can't fight… It’s over."
"No, it isn’t. You must choose. I
can restore your body. Give you, my power. Together, we can destroy them."
Raiku smiled, weak but proud. "No. My time has passed. My people need
hope, not revenge. Protect them. Protect… Renji."
A pause. Then Drakther nodded.
"Then speak the chant. Release me. And I will shake the stars in your name."
With his final strength, Raiku whispered the ancient words, handed down by his bloodline.
“By light born of flame… by soul born of dragon… unseal thy heart — and rise.”
Scene: Battlefield Resurrection
Suddenly, the sky cracked.
A pulse of blinding red light exploded from Raiku’s body the ground cracked for MILES. Enemies turned to dust in its wake. Trees disintegrated. Even the light of Zorak’s Dead Zone trembled
Kagutsume stumbled backward, fear breaking across his face.
"That energy… That’s—impossible!"
The skies darkened, the winds froze, and fire flickered unnaturally. The form of Drakther emerged, a planet-sized dragon, burning with celestial wrath, eyes glowing like twin galaxies, scales covered in glowing scriptures of the Flame God. His roar shattered the clouds, his presence bending reality.
The North King froze in terror. "What is that?!"
"That... is death itself," Kagutsume whispered, eyes wide. "A true Celestial Dragon."
Drakther looked down at Zorak like an insect.
With a single beat of his wings, shockwaves rippled out, tearing through the front lines of the North like paper. The skies turned blood-red, and reality bent under his divine fury.
"We cannot win this!" Kagutsume shouted. He turned to Zorak. "We must retreat!"
Zorak hesitated, pride holding him back.
"He’s just a dragon—"
"No," Kagutsume snapped, "He is the Dragon. Fifteen times the size of Earth in his true form. He eats stars. He ends empires."
Zorak (terrified): “That’s
not a beast… that’s a god…”
Realizing the truth, King Zorak gave the signal, and Kagutsume teleported them
away in a flash of shadow.
Scene: Aftermath
The moment they vanished, Drakther exhaled. His massive form dissolved into
radiant embers, returning to Raiku’s sword. The battlefield grew silent.
Raiku’s body remained still.
The South's surviving soldiers and mages ran to him. The Chief General,
battered and limping, knelt beside his king, cradling him.
"My King... you did it. You saved us..." he whispered, tears falling.
But the king was cold.
One by one, soldiers, mages, and survivors gathered, mourning their sovereign.
The 250,000 troops returning from the Central City arrived, and when they saw the scene—dust was poured on heads, wails
filled the sky.
The General stood, sword raised in grief.
"Our King has fallen. But not in vain. He stood for us. He saved us. And now… the fire of his will burns in the soul of his son."
The sun began to rise over the battlefield.
Raiku Arkus, the King of Light, had fallen — but a new legacy had begun.
The Age of Drakther… had awakened.
