Trapped Between Two Worlds"

At school

Kaito: Hello, Park.

Park: Hey.

Kaito: I studied today for the exams.

Park: Ask yourself this question.

Kaito: Why do I always get good grades?

Park: I think your last test was really good, you increased from 49 to 50.

Kaito (in his thoughts): Ah, yes, I remembered that in the past, I wasn't succeeding despite my hard work, so I took summer tests and couldn't visit my grandfather then.

Park: Oh, look, it's Rin. Did you reconcile with her or not?

Kaito: Yes.

Park: I know trying to reconcile is difficult, but what if you did?

Kaito: Yes.

Park: That was fast.

Kaito: And now I remember telling Rin about my gift and you said you'd punish me, do you remember?

Park: Why suddenly are you excited to go to class to prepare for exams?

Kaito: It's escaping.

Kaito: Misaki.

Misaki: I’m not giving you the summary of the lessons I have.

Kaito: What?

Misaki: Like every time, you come and try to take it.

Kaito: I didn’t take it from you. We’re still at the start of the year.

Misaki: Then let’s refresh your memory. I asked Rin to bring my notes for the weekly tests and last month, remember?

Kaito (in his thoughts): Yes, I remember. When I go back to the future, the days here pass the same way there.

Misaki: So if that’s not it, then what do you want?

Kaito: Can you tutor me?

Misaki: Trying to teach an idiot is closer to him learning from you.

Kaito: Are you mocking me?

Misaki: What do you think?

Kaito: I’m serious.

Misaki (looking at him): Then come at lunch, even though it’s late, you have a test before lunch and then also some homework.

Kaito: Don’t worry, I’m ready for both.

Misaki: Really? That’s surprising. Well, come after lunch.

Voice from behind holding Misaki

Kaito: What after lunch?

Kaito: I asked Misaki to tutor me during lunch.

Rin: Misaki, teaching an idiot is better for you than him.

Misaki: Well, I don’t think I’m alone in this opinion.

Kaito: Please, stop.

Rin: Then I’ll join you.

Misaki: This will be really tiring.

School bell rings

Kaito: Well, let’s go to class.

Misaki: Alright.

In class

Rin: Kaito, the exam is coming in the second period, and Misaki will tutor you during lunch.

Kaito: Don’t worry, I’m ready.

Rin: I doubt it.

Kaito: Then let’s make a bet.

Rin: Alright, if I get a higher score, I get to make a request. But if I win, I’ll ask for something.

Kaito: Okay.

After the exam, in the library

Misaki: Alright, let’s see what you don’t know, sports or science?

Kaito: Sports.

Misaki: This is a test, let’s see what you don’t know.

Kaito: Alright.

Rin: He’ll solve it quickly.

Misaki: No, he’ll struggle.

Rin: He passed the test we took with a perfect score.

Misaki: How?

Kaito: I’m done.

Misaki checks the paper: No, he made a lot of mistakes. Maybe he found a way to cheat.

Rin: Did you cheat?

Kaito: No, but my memory is weak.

Misaki: No, just admit it’s empty. Not a single correct answer. This is going to be tough.

Kaito: Then why don’t we study at Rin’s place?

Misaki: I prefer studying alone.

Kaito: Rin, fulfill our agreement.

Misaki: What agreement?

Rin: The one where whoever gets the highest grade gets to make a request. And that was your request.

Misaki: I’m not involved.

Rin: She agreed to be with us.

Misaki: How much do you want to die if you don’t back off?

Kaito: I need you to teach me, please.

Misaki: No.

Rin: Please, just this time.

Misaki: Fine.

Kaito: So, Thursday?

Misaki: Why not today?

Kaito: Because of the exams.

In reality, not for the exams, but because tomorrow, problems with you, Misaki, will start and I need to find a way to prevent that.

Misaki (after school): Teaching Kaito felt like talking to myself. He exhausted me. How did he get a perfect score on the test?

Some people passing by: Look at that girl. Isn’t she beautiful? Let’s go get her number.

One of the boys: Hey, what’s your name?

Misaki doesn’t answer and walks away

The boy: You’re attractive. How about you come with us? We’re going to have fun, want to come?

Misaki: Move away.

The boy: What did you say?

Misaki hits him: I said move out of my way.

The boy: You little…

Kaito from behind: I advise you not to try.

The boy: Who are you?

Kaito: I’m her friend, and it’s good that she shut you up. I was actually planning to break your arm and hand.

The boy: What are you saying, jerk?

Kaito grabs him and punches him, then his friends run away

Misaki: How?

Kaito: I was passing by. Are you okay?

Misaki: Thanks, and I can handle my own affairs. Bye.

Kaito: I’ll accompany you.

Misaki: No thanks, I don’t want a stalker chasing me.

Kaito: Rin, right?

Misaki (laughs): Yes, bye.

Bullies: That guy needs to be punished.

The boy: Yes, and I know exactly how to do it.
