Chapter 0 - The Day I Met You

In that calm afternoon, I was at the hospital to visit my sick cousin with my mom.

And to be honest, I don't like this white colored building. The atmosphere is too quiet, and at the same time makes my heart beat fast. Maybe not only me...

In this many row of seats, people wait for a good news to come at them or at the worse situation, a bad news.

Here I sit, in the front row. Even though the number of people on the back row can be counted by fingers... I don't feel comfortable sitting next to strangers.

Feeling bored, I took my phone and started playing with it, even though it only have ten percent battery left.

My mom is currently answering a call from my aunt outside, so I'm only by myself here.

I asked to wait for a while—which I don't know how long.

Then, I hear a sound of wheels. It was soft, but enough to make look at it.

A charming girl with a brown reddish hair is sitting on the wheelchair. When I said she looked charming, I didn't lie. Her smile is weak but looked sweet too... And suddenly she asked me something.

"You looked bored, wanna chat with me for a while?"

I fell silent. She's still smiling like she used to talking to strangers. Her voice is also gentle and very calming to listen to.

I nodded, silently admitting her words.

And somehow, her smile grow wider. Did she wanted to talk to me that much?

"My name is Akari Yuna. Nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you... My name is Homura Yuuto.'

"Nice to meet you, Homura!"

"Nice to meet you too... Akari."

Her tone was very enthusiastic and that make feel awkward.

I did all the things the right way, right? Hopefully I didn't do anything wrong...

"What are you doing here?"

"Waiting for my mom. She's answering a call outside."

"Oh... Is that it?"

"Not really... Actually, I just done visiting my cousin here."

"How unfortunate of your cousin... May I ask what's wrong with your cousin? If that's okay with you..."

"His right leg is slightly fractured."

Akari closed her mouth with both of her hands, her eyes also seems teary when she heard me.

Well... I'm not surprised by her reaction, because I myself had that reaction when I heard about my cousin conditions.

"Mmm... What about you, Akari? What are you doing here?" I asked to keep the conversation going.

"Oh, me? I just done with my physiotherapy. Doctor said I'm recovering fast, so I can walk normally again soon."

"Oh... I see, that's great. I'm glad for you."

Physiotherapy...? Hmm... I don't know anything about biology, but if I'm not wrong... That's the kind of therapy for partial paralysis, right?

Thank goodness she can be healthy again soon.

Right after Akari tell me about her condition, suddenly a grown woman with a glasses wearing a maid clothes came up to us.

"Mrs. Akari, you must not go wandering around by yourself!" The maid scolded Akari, but her voice is very gentle.

Akari giggled and said sorry.

Maid...? She must be from a wealthy family...

"Well then, see you, Homura!" Akari waved at me.

"See you." I waved back.

As we exchanged wave, her maid push the wheelchair for her.

After they have leave, I'm back at playing with my phone.

Not long after that, I realized something.

I actually talked to her smoothly!

But if it's not because of her keep asking me, the conversation wouldn't flow and we would just stare at each other...

Shortly after that, my mom is back.

"Yuuto, let's go home. Aunt said she will come to visit Ren soon."

"Okay."

And with that, my time at the hospital come to an end and I went home.

It felt relieving to leave a place with a horrifying atmosphere, so I'm glad im done there.
