Chapter 8:
N x U
I lay flat on the bed, arms stretched out wide as if waiting for something new to happen. Letting out a deep sigh, I rolled back onto my ride side and felt my ears seemingly perk up at the sound of footsteps outside.
“We’ve…Akiyo says…” A voice mumbled inaudibly.
“No, the girl…we have to…” Someone else said back.
Then, it got silent.
Curious, I tried to get up from the bed but remembered that my legs were being restrained. Frustrated, I began punching at the cuffs, but as expected, nothing happened.
Then, the door burst open almost off its hinges.
I gasped as two petite figures wandered into the room. Were they lost? It was two children. One of them was a girl. She had small, white hands, and her eyes were an electric yellow just like her long, curly locks. She was wearing a pure white dress with frills at the bottom and sleeves that completely covered up both her wrists and hands.
The other was a boy with creamy tan skin and emerald green eyes with matching emerald green hair. He wore black baggy pants that hid his ankles and a black baggy top that revealed his naked arms.
“ZION, we can’t just enter in here without notifying the King!” The girl shouted.
The boy, whom I thought was Zion, just shrugged his shoulders and turned to wave at me, his teeth sharp and pointy, like a tiger or a shark.
“Aion Aion Aion, you are such a girl! So much worrying and not much doing. I want to meet the new kid! Don’t you? Aren’t you hyped to see the new girl? I mean, all girls need gal pals, correct?” He teased.
Aion, the girl, just crossed her arms in front of her chest and gave an immature pout, her cheeks puffed out.
“Zion, if I tell King Akiyo or Abriel about this, they won’t be happy. Especially if I tell both!” She said as she marched out of the room.
“I don’t wanna be here in case someone catches you!” She shouted as she shut the door behind her.
He just turned and stared blankly at the door as he rubbed the back of his neck. Then, with a slight cough, he turned back to me and folded his hands behind his back.
“New kid, what’s your name? Err…Ura? Zura?” He asked.
I refused to acknowledge him. Anyone who is a friend of the King isn’t a friend of mine. Then again, if he’s a child, aren’t children easy to manipulate?
As the boy slowly made his way towards me, he struggled to hop onto the bed and once he climbed on, her just sat on his knees, a finger to his chin.
“You’re…pretty…” Then, he paused as his eyes began to sparkle.
“HEY, WANNA BE MY GIRLFRIEND?” He shouted a tad too loudly and excitedly.
Upon hearing this, I suddenly couldn’t help but let out a laugh, and I couldn’t stop.
“I-I’m not gonna date some 7-year-old little brat!” I spat out inbetween gulps of air.
“Brat? I ain’t a brat!” He seethed, his demeanor changing.
“I’m...," He froze and gave his head a small shake.
"You’re the child. And if I wanna marry you…”
I gasped as his right hand shot out and yanked my chin towards him.
“Then I wanna marry you!” He barked.
I quickly brought up my left arm and flung him off the bed. He landed with a thud and a small cry.
Getting back up, he started to snarl at me. But with his small size and childlike looks, I just felt like teasing him even more.
“If I wanna marry you, why don’t you start as my girlfriend first?” He began, rubbing his behind where he landed only moments ago.
“What if I say no and that you deserve to be spanked?” I chuckled.
The boy then turned his back on me and muttered something under his breath. For some reason, I could feel my confidence begin to sway, and I started to feel a bit woozy.
I tried to move around but found my body to be heavy. Much heavier than usual. I didn’t understand what was happening. Was he doing something to me?
I reached for a lock of my hair to try and defend myself, but before I had the chance to do just that, he snapped back over to me and with the point of a finger, I found myself being lifted into the air and smacked back down hard onto the bed. I let out a startled gasp as my face was buried in the comforter, and I was unable to breathe, nor could I move.
My body stuck like glue onto the bed, I tried to fight whatever it was holding me down, but couldn’t even blink my eyes.
The sound of footsteps nearing me once again made my heart drop. Was this it? Was this child going to kill me? A little boy?
“Now, I’ll ask again. Would you oh so kindly become my girlfriend?” He whispered, his voice harsh and commanding. It wasn’t a question, and I couldn’t even respond.
“You can answer me later with a YES. But right now, King Akiyo wishes to see you. He didn’t send me in, but I came in anyway because I wanted to meet you myself, despite what my bratty sister says. Now, shall we go, hand in hand to meet our lovely King?”
Neijiro…where are you?
