RYU
Hey.

KAI
Ryu?

RYU
Yeah, it’s me.

KAI
Where are you?

RYU
I’m right here.

KAI
It’s actually a bit scary in here. Can we hold hands?

RYU
Oh, sure.

KAI
Why are we here?

RYU
I wanted to talk to you about something.

KAI
Okay, this is a bit dramatic. Even for you.

Ryu laughs weakly.

RYU
Yeah, I guess..

KAI
Is something wrong?

RYU
No, no, just give me a minute. I guess I’m a bit nervous. I had a whole speech planned. But now that you’re actually here my mind is drawing blank.

KAI
Nervous? Why?

RYU
Okay, here I go. The thing is, I like you. Like, really, really like you.

Kai laughs giddily.

KAI
I like you too.

RYU
I mean in a more than friends way.

KAI
Really?

He asks in a soft voice.

RYU
Mhmm.

RYU
You’re quiet..

KAI
I’m just trying to um, process..

RYU
Oh, god, I made things awkward between us, didn’t I? I’m sorry, I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable.

He tries to pull his hand away, but Kai holds onto him.

KAI
Don’t. You’re not. It’s quite the opposite.. lately I.. had these very confusing feelings around you. But I never thought about dating a guy before so.. I..

RYU
Wait, what?

KAI
I think I might like you too.

RYU
I’m going to hug you now.

Kai laughs.

KAI
Okay.

The lights are turned on. They separate and look at each other, Ryu is grinning ear to ear, Kai is clearly flustered.

Ryu cocks an eyebrow.

RYU
So, confusing feelings, huh?

KAI
Yeah…

RYU
Do you think a kiss would help clear things up?

KAI
…

RYU
Sorry, I just had to try that line.

KAI
It’s okay..

Ryu continues smiling at him.

KAI
I mean, the kiss would be.. okay.

Kai blushes and looks away before nodding.

Ryu kisses him softly and pulls away, but Kai reaches out instinctively to pull him back for a proper kiss.
