Chapter 483:

Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej

En Passant Grandmaster

Eventually, Grgur returned to the board, yet his anger hadn't calmed in the slightest, especially not after noticing the 2-0 score in Japan's favor. "Those idiots already lost!? Now all we can do is draw! Well at least my stroll yielded some intel," he thought as he moved his knight to g6.

"Going the hard way? Sure, knock yourself out," Okisato thought as he moved his pawn to e5.

Grgur made the correct choice of moving his knight to g8, but after Okisato moved his bishop to c4, he misstepped and moved his bishop to b4. It wasn't the worst mistake, but Okisato's play of queen f3 tripped him up even more as he went queen e7, with pawn h4 ultimately signaling the start of his troubles, for against better judgement, Grgur captured said pawn with his knight, and realized too little too late, it was a huge blunder.

"NO! I didn't find enough other players playing this shitty opening!" Grgur fumed in his mind as Okisato took full advantage of the blunder to capture the practically hanging knight at h4 with his rook.

Grgur angrily moved his pawn to d5, only to watch Okisato capture said pawn with his bishop. Thus, he decided to attack said bishop by moving his pawn to c6, with the only problem being that it was another free piece for Okisato.

"Check. Really getting into the Halloween spirit with all that candy you've been giving away," Okisato snickered as he captured the pawn at c6 with his bishop.

"This isn't a charity!" Grgur fumed aloud as he captured said bishop with his b-pawn.

"Pretty sure I overheard one of the Fins say that when we all fought. Check," Okisato shrugged as he captured the pawn at c6 with his queen.

"DON'T COMPARE A GENERAL LIKE ME TO SOME ROBOT0EYED FREAKS!" Grgur roared as he slammed his king down on d8.

"Sorry to disappoint, but right now, I feel even better than when I was bashing Flavio. Guess all you are is the cooldown meal. Oh, and check. Prepare for the barrage, general," Okisato snickered as he moved his queen to d5.

And from that point on, it was pure misery for Grgur. King c7, rook f4, king b8, rook captures f7, bishop b7, queen c4, Grgur couldn't help but let out audible frustrated groans. Rook captures e7, knight captures e7, a3, rook c8, queen b5, rook captures c3, a captures b4, rook captures c2, then queen e8, check.

Grgur furiously moved his knight to c8, but Okisato was knocking on the door of victory, slowly inching his pawn up to e6, while Grgur could only move his rook to a7, grappling with the fact that it still couldn't be fully utilized.

And just as Okisato delivered another check in the form of bishop f4, Zago won his game, securing the match for team Japan.

"THOSE IDIOTS! THEY ALL LOST!?" Grgur fumed aloud as he slammed his fist on the table and moved his king to a8.

"And you'll be joining them soon," Okisato thought as he moved his pawn to d5.

Grgur furiously captured said pawn with his bishop, but that very move would be his downfall as after Okisato moved his queen to b5, it was mate in 9 at most. Grgur realized this too, evidenced by him repeatedly slamming the table with his fist, yet he refused to yield. Thus, the game carried on. Bishop b7, queen e5, knight d6, queen captures d6, rook c8, rook c1, rook h8, e7, bishop captures d2, queen b8, check, king b7, queen d7, check, ka6, and then it was almost over.

"Check, your move, general," Okisato taunted a he moved his pawn to b5.

"TI JEBENI KOMAD GOVNA [YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT]!" Grgur roared as he slammed his king down on b6.

"And now, it's time for a diss track. I wonder if Iori-chan's about to win too," Okisato thought as he rose from his seat and grabbed his bishop.

...

Over in the women's section, a similar story to what just went own in the men's section was playing out, where in a fit of rage over Azenira winning her game and securing the match for team Japan, Vlatka moved her queen to d5. Iori mercilessly pounced on the opportunity, capturing the bishop at d6 with her bishop. Vlatka quickly captured said bishop with her queen, but Iori was still up in both material and winning the game as she moved her knight to b8. Thus, Vlatka decided to try and create counterplay by moving her rook to a1.

Iori scoffed at the pathetic swing, moving her queen to b2 slowly in mocking fashion.

"DON'T FUCK WITH ME!" Vlatka shouted aloud as she slammed her f-rook down on b1.

Now it was Iori's turn to break the no talking rule, though to her credit, all she did was laugh. Laugh, laugh, laugh at the pathetic Vlatka while moving her queen to c3. "Wow, this worked better then I could even dream. I probably could have gotten away with a- Nah, that might've made her play harder. But a win's a win," she thought as Vlatka moved her queen to d5.

And with that, Vlatka could no longer stop Iori from capturing the bishop at c6 with her rook. All she could do was fume and move her rook to d1, watching as Iori continued to mock her with her facial expressions while moving her rook to c7. And then began Vlatka's final downward spiral to mate.

Rook a3, rook d7, queen d3, rook captures d3, c captures d3, bishop b7, king h2, queen c6, rook g1, queen f3, rook a2, rook a8, rook d2, rook e1, then finally rook c2 before she stood on the verge of mate.

"Check! Lol, you mastered the art of botching the Zagreb! I could've Bongclouded you if I'd known you were actually THIS shit at playing it!" Iori snickered as she moved her queen to h1.

Vlatka let out a furious scream as she angrily captured said queen with her rook, sending it tumbling away.

"Well somebody's mad, and looks like Oki-kun's about to win too. Guess we'll be duetting at the same time in different places. Hope the camera crew splices this shit together well," Iori thought as she grabbed her rook and leapt atop the table, just as Vlatka had done for many rounds.

Now both Iori and Okisato could see that they were both ready to mate and thus, the time for their epic diss was now.

"Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej!"

Vlatka's and Grgur's eyes twitched as they realized what was happening; they were getting a taste of their own medicine.

"Oj, divojko, jabuko rumena. Parim da te, ma, naranča rodila. Nije mene naranča rodila. Za goru me je mat moja rodila [O, girl, you blushing apple, it seems to me that you, oh, were born by an orange. I wasn't given birth by an orange, Beyond the mountain my mother gave birth to me. Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Bura mi je ziparinka bila. Zipjuć me je va morje stavjala. Mornari me va mrižu lovili. Prodali me biloj Katarini [Cold bora was my cradle, she put me into the sea while swaying me. Sailors caught me with their net. They sold me to white Catherine]. Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Oy, šupak se utopio u moru sranja. Vrteći se okolo poput trule naranče. Jedna loša naranča rođena iz smeća. Razbijen na komadiće i bačen u oluk. [Oy, asshole drowned in the sea of shit. Spinning round like a rotting orange. One bad orange born from trash. Smashed to bits and thrown into the gutter]. Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej! Jodi-lo-le, ta-ra..."

Slam!

Slam!

"Checkmate, jebač [fucker]!" the two snickered as Okisato moved his bishop to e3, and Iori captured the rook at h1 with her rook, respectively both winning their games in style.

And not just that, but both teams had now swept Croatia 4-0, adding to the humiliation. There were going to be some very sour grapes at team Croatia's dinner table tonight.
