Battle [Ms. Jeanne]

Asakawa Seiji, a student who's hair is dyed in white and is wearing three earrings on his left ear. He looks like your stereotypical delinquent who'll cause trouble inside or outside the school although he's far from it, he consistently scores high marks on written tests and always present in class. He's a proper student even if he looks like that. Most students stays away from him because of his looks and the fact that he can't use magic, and since he's the only one who can't use magic in this academy, he's very well-known by teachers and students.

In this world where magic is used for almost everything, a person who can't use magic is considered inferior. Yet I can't sense anything like that from him, he's very well-liked by the people who knows him that's why other students can't complain and mostly ignores him. Even if they try to do something about him, he's good at evading others and he never got in to troubles.

I also can't read what he's thinking and he does weird things from time to time but that's the reason why I'm very interested in what this student can do, that's also the reason why I talked to him earlier. In order to get him motivated, even if I need to tell a little lie. Since he's a guy who does everything on a whim, I need a reason to force him to do other things aside from lazing around in the club room every day.

*Boom*

A very loud crackling sound reverberates in the arena. Laticia fired a [Wind Spear] along with his barrages of water shots and fire balls. Every elements have a field they're useful of, for example fire is for destructive power and water is for slowing the enemy down, obviously wind spells have the fastest firing speed amongst all the elements. It isn't enough for her to take him down because wind spells is lacking in terms of fire power, but it is enough for her to make him stagger. If you get used to dodging the same spell over and over again, even if it's me it'll be difficult to react to an instantaneous spell.

Seiji manages to dodge the wind spear, he loses his balance for a moment but managed to regain his footing in a split second, he's surprisingly agile.

Laticia then erect a [Ground Wall], a spell using the ground to create a shield that can be use to protect a large number of people, it can be created anywhere as long as there is ground and the size depends on the user but Laticia use it to attack him. A magic circle appeared below Seiji but instead of moving he just stands there willingly, then he move a little backwards a second before the wall a size of a person appeared in front of him.

I see, he needs time to breathe so he use the wall Laticia erected as his own shield to hide for a moment. Dodging the barrages while being careful not slip because of the puddles made by the water spears must be exhausting but how can he be so sure that an offensive spell will not appear below him? There's no way he read that magic circle in that split second, right?

This is why I'm very intrigued in this guy, he's smart and his physical ability mostly surpass most of the students here. Well there's only a few students here that cares about their physical fitness, most students want to perfect their area of magic expertise because most magicians fight with firing spells with a barrier around them. In case of magicians with physical ability that is enhanced with magic, I'm sure he can beat a few of them.

Although the problem is his motivation.

*Crackle* *Boom*

As I was pondering what to do, Laticia broke the wall by using a [Lightning Shot]. There's no way she'll let him rest, Seiji immediately retreat from the wall to avoid the explosion cause by the spell.

Then she casts [Ground Vines], a binding spell. Green vines popped up from the ground and because Seiji is still trying to catch his breathe, he couldn't avoid them and the vines catch his feet.

Waiting no time she immediately fired fire balls at him, and while she's doing that she turned the puddles created by the water spears in to little water golems, the size of a human child. Seiji can't evade the attack, so he did destroy the fire balls that potentially could eliminate him with his dagger. While trying to withstand the other fire balls that hit him, he uses the other dagger to cut the vines that caught his feet.

He escaped the vines a few seconds after but took a significant amount of damage.

The winner of this match is easily, Laticia. She hasn't even use ten percent of her power in this match, that's what she always do every time and she is still in the same spot from when the match starts and hasn't even move a single step. She also doesn't use barrier like any normal magicians and still using silent incantations. Spells have better output if the incantations are longer, but despite using silent incantations and basic spells, her magic has this much control and power, it can be said that this is enough to make her a monster.

She's also dressed in a gown while fighting. Nobles usually can wear any clothes while going to this academy but commoners are obligated to use school uniforms, nobles usually change to their PE uniforms while doing mock battles. She's the only one who's strange enough to fight in that state.

"..."

Laticia attack again with [Ground Wall], leaving Seiji no time to rest. He dodged it barely and now the barrage of spells started again, this time along with the little water golems that shoots water bullets from their mouth. Even if those are not lethal, I'm sure every shots will hurt enough to slow him down if those hit him.

Seiji can't do anything but dodge the spells while slashing the water golems that come his way. He can't move forward but he can't slow down either, because if he slows down even a little, he'll be cornered. Still he's better than most students who fought Laticia, those that fought her immediately lost after the barrage of spells destroyed their barrier, they can't even do anything. I think he's the only student that survived for this long while battling Laticia, if this is a battle with a normal student the battle would've ended already.

After a few minutes, Seiji eventually destroyed all the water golems. Seeing this, Laticia start to create golems again but Seiji instead of slowing down, speed up towards her. I'm sure he'll eventually reach the limit of his stamina, that's why he can't afford to deal with another bunch of water golems.

Without a choice he destroy every spells shot at him with the two daggers, in response Laticia stopped creating the water golems and speed up her casting but he eventually reach her. Seiji attack her as soon as he get near her, but Laticia block it with her arms. She coated it with stones, a spell called [Stone Armor] but she only used it on her left arm.

With his first attack interrupted, Seiji get ready for his second attack but Laticia summoned a [Ground Wall] to separate the two of them, the size of a door. Seiji destroyed it easily but the moment he destroyed it blinding lights greeted him, Laticia casted a spell called [Flash] using her right hand, usually used to blind an opponent for a moment. Because of the light he can't help but close his eyes, and then he get a magically enhance kick from Laticia to his side. He tried to block it with the daggers but because the force is too strong the daggers are destroyed with the kick, and he flies all the way to the wall of the arena.

I look at the healers and they easily understand what I meant.

Even the wall is destroyed by that kick, the wall is fine because this arena has a self-repair spell casted on it but Seiji must have a few broken ribs because of that.

"...but that thing at the end." it must've been an illusion magic, it wasn't clear because I'm far from them but I'm sure of it.

"He's good." Mr. Spade said suddenly, I thought he was sleeping.

"Yeah, to lasts more than ten minutes while fighting Laticia." two times longer than her usual fights.

"It seems that you didn't notice." Mr. Spade murmured but I can't hear him clearly. "In terms of fighting, he seems use to it, it's just a bad match up."

"Yeah, he's clearly trained. There's no useless movement in his fight earlier either." if he's fighting someone who excels in melee fight, then I'm sure that'll be more interesting fight than this match.

"I'm gonna go now."

"Aren't you gonna watch the next one?"

"The principal is waiting for me." He's being frequently called by the principal lately.

Is there something happening? Whatever, I'm sure they'll handle it.

Seiji then is put into a stretcher and will be carried to the clinic, as a teacher I should see if he's gonna be okay.
