Chapter 4:

Cell City Pursuit

Reincarnated: The Legendary Moon Sword

(Cell City Television Broadcast)
Welcome,
Humans from all corners of the galaxy to one of the most advanced cities in the Deep well star system!

Home of the most efficient technology known to our civilisation. With hard work and determination for survival within this harsh universe and nature, we've stood against the destructive waves of nature through supreme logical and quantitative reasoning.

Exactly

We currently stand on top of this universe

We've cleared all meaningless myths and buried them with our ancestors!

And of course it's all thanks to the Neo shard energy! Though its true source is unknown, our advanced mechanics and scientific interventions have propelled us into the fruitful extraction and transformation of this mysterious energy.

Clean, powerful, silent and infinite power runs through our city and in the hands of the many humans scattered throughout the universe.

Stunning skyscrapers immersed in bountiful Neon-like elements and perfectly organised road systems as well as professional services will leave you begging to stay.

Of course, one cannot go without mentioning the great producers of such technology.

DeV co and Zephain co!

Both organizations specialize in different fields of Neo-Science, boosting our worth tenfold!

The Zephain company's multi goals in the industrial and domestic sectors have made it stand out as a unique organization, creating a wide range of equipment from home bots to the largest particle-wave cannons.

In addition to that, the Deca-eclipsing Vector company DeV enhances our biological strength and aids us in our increased life spans!

To be honest, their help is boundless and keeps getting larger and larger!

So we leave the rest to you to find out

You have your own desire

(Cell City - The Moon sword's POV)
I had never seen such buildings before, looming over our heads in bands of brightly illuminating colours.

Everything in that city was so different. The people, machines and atmosphere. Even the path we raced on glowed a bright light that occassionally faded into different colours. Other vehicles also motioned on this path, seemingly minding their businesses.

A large transparent screen caught my attention as it displayed the words, "Welcome to Cell City - Cell City Television Broadcast"

'Cell City, to think it actually existed', I thought.

Just then, a boy donned in completely black clothes sighed. He looked quite tired of controlling the cycle for a long while.

Seksulfur reduced our speed, "Sheesh, that was close."

[Dzilaiza: Virus activity ceased hours ago]

"Hah? What do you mean?"

[Dzilaiza: The lockdown virus released has been exterminated and the enemy advances at an extremely fast rate]

"Tch, you could've said so earlier!"

Suddenly, the vehicles behind us began to move to the sides of the road as a familiar figure raced towards us.

'DeV co! They're back!'

"Damn it! Accelerate!", Seksulfur immediately ordered.

The cycle responded, promptly increasing its speed. A screen appeared before Seksulfur, displaying numbers that rapidly kept increasing along with our speed.

[245mph]
[Dzilaiza: Approaching high speeds, activating stability field]

The pursuing vehicle abruptly released two slots on its sides. On those slots seemed to be the bots we encountered earlier. Only this time, they had cycles as well.

"Heh, well this is something", Seksulfur smirked.

The two bots zoomed onto the road, making their way towards us at an insane speed. Within seconds, they were travelling at the exact same speed as we were.

Charged blades shot out from the wheels of the bots' cycles as they slowly tried to close us in.

[Dzilaiza: Suggested lines of action: one, further increase speed. Two, release energy pulse]

Sweat ran down the sides of his face, "We can't use the pulse just yet. Boost our speed."

[Dzilaiza: Understood]
[321mph -> 412mph]
The city slowly blurred, following the sudden escalation in our motion. We drifted far from the threat of the two bots but they only increased their speed in response.

Sekaulfur glanced back,"Dzilaiza, activate long-range projectiles."

[Dzilaiza: Activating]
Two tiny missiles appeared on the sides of the cycle, aiming at the incoming enemy.

[Dzilaiza: Target locked on]

[Firing..]

Our pursuers noticed our attack a little too late making it impossible to evade since they were moving too fast.

The projectiles blasted towards the enemy with full force, eventually blowing them to nothing but pieces.

However...

[Dzilaiza: Enemy tank is still mobile]
The large vehicle was still in one piece, steadily increasing its speed.

"Tch, we'll just de-stabilize it then", Seksulfur clicked his tongue.

[Dzilaiza: De-stabilizing an object of such high mass will result in a sudden distortion in its immediate surrounding due to abrupt exposure to atmospheric forces. Breakdown may leave harmful debris airborne]

"It doesn't matter-"

[Dzilaiza: Action cannot be carried out. Danger ahead]

"Hah!?"

The odd voice's words turned my attention to the path ahead of us. For some strange reason, it began to change form completely and before Seksulfur could utter a word, the road was completely changed into a large winding path that stretched high up into the air. Beneath it was a fast-running body of water that flowed in an eastward direction.

Interesting
What was this strange boy going to do in such a situation?
The curiousity only kept my attention more focussed on the situation.

[Dzilaiza: Sudden increase in altitude will affect the cycle's stabilizing field. Suggestion: Slow down]

"That's exactly what she wants us to do", he glared back at the pursuing tank. "We'll keep moving. The higher the acceleration, the lower the probability of imbalance."

[Dzilaiza: Affirmative. Strengthening field]
[!495mph!]
[Maximum speed attained]

At this point, everything didn't seem to exist. The once tall and coulourful city scene blurred into a raging swirl of rainbow colours as we raced up, down and through the winding air road.

[Dzilaiza: Incoming missiles]

"Damn it! Give up already!"

Wait-
Something touched the back of my mind. How in the world was that large vehicle still pursuing us?

Kidnapped by curiousity, I looked back and notice something completely confusing. The enemy did follow closely behind only this time, it drove on a straight path regardless of whether there WAS a path there or not.

It was still moving, moving as if there was a solid platform there.

Seksulfur chuckled all of a sudden, "We'll simply blow those missiles right where they came from."

"Dzilaiza!"

[Dzilaiza: Infusing energy pulse with elecctronic manipulation]

Things were moving so fast that I was completely lost at the entire situation. How and why did he seem so confident all of a sudden.

An intense wave of energy suddenly blew against the incoming missiles and strangely changed their direction.

They were headed back to their source!

But-

[Dzilaiza: Projectiles have been rebounded]

Seksulfur immediately turned back, his eyes widening in shock, "What do you-"

*BOOM!*

.
.
(Dela's POV)
[Direct hit]

"Hm, he let his guard down. Re-structure the highway", I commanded as I got up from my seat.

[Affirmative]
The tank's holographic image disappeared into thin air following the return of the Cell City highway to its original form.

Giving chase with an object of high mass such as the tank would've been impossible. Luckily, the 'partial physical mode' of our holograms allowed us to plant real objects onto them depending on the size of the image.

Creating such a hologram seemed to have done the trick.

Everything was moving according to plan.

The tank's doors opened with a majestic hum as I moved out of the vehicle.

"Scout units"

Several drones flew from the top of the tank and surrounded me, ready to receive commands. I wasn't planning on letting back anytime soon.

"Search for any remains", I glared at the damaged area of the road for a final time. "Kill the boy and retrieve the sword once you find them."

With their orders given to them, the bots spread out into the city.

"Not a single ounce of blood", I contemplated as I made my way back to the tank. "So he managed to escape."
