Chapter 1:

Prologue

The Princess is the Lonely Rose

Everything was a mess. There was a lot of blood that was drawn out of people fighting for the thing they think that was right.

What is right? What is wrong? I can't even answer that. I sighed deeply as I look outside. A lot of soldiers fighting but the people that was defending can't hold on any longer.

"I should have not let them fight for me," I whispered with a sigh. I saw Lana's expression on the glass.

"They are defending someone who they put their faith into, your highness." I sadly smiled and shook my head.

"Lana, your following a foolish master who lead you to your death," I said and looked at her. She gave me a kind smile.

"I serve a master that knows What is good for the country." Lana walked towards me and kneeled. "Your highness, I will follow you to the depths of abyss." I shook my head. She is my nanny's daughter Who was not even married yet. I walked towards her and helped her stand up.

"Lana, go... Run away while there is time," I said. "There's still a lot of things to do while you're still alive. My brother will accept you. Just condemn me."

"I won't do that, my lady. How can I do that to a person who just wanted peace for the people? I saw a lot of your sacrifices... How can I turn a blind eye about it?" Lana smiled and held my hand firmly. She was really a stubborn woman. I sighed. Then I felt an excruciating pain in my chest that made me coughed out blood. I saw blood on my hand. Lana immediately wiped my hand. "My Lady!"

"I'm fine! No need to worry about me," I said with a smile and and sighed deeply, 'ignoring the pain because I know that my end is near. But there's one thing I need to do. I can hear footsteps coming and I know I need to face them. I sighed and composed myself.

"Lana, get ready," I said. Lana nodded and put a shawl over my shoulder. Then, after a few moments, the door burst open. A few soldiers went inside with my brother and the person I fell in love with. I faced them with a smile.

"What makes you attack my palace, Brother?" I asked. The first born son of the emperor, Aslan Uno Grandia, glared at me.

"Sister, you're so wicked!" He exclaimed. I gave him a confused look.

"What do you mean, brother?" I asked. William walked towards me and held my arm tightly. William Travis Chevalier, the duke of the empire gave me the same look. Ah, this person... Why did I fell in love with him?

"Duke! stop! You're hurting her highness!" Lana walked toward William and held his arm. William pushed her away making Lana fall on her knees. I glared at him.

"You're too much, your grace. You don't have compassion towards a woman," I said with a smirk. William looked at me and his nails were digging to my arm.

"You're really telling me that? A wicked woman like you don't deserve any ounce of respect! Where is Sophia?" He asked. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

"Why are you asking me that? I don't even know where she is," I said like a grumble. William snickered and held both of my arm. I think my arm will be dislocated!

"Don't play with me! Where is she? You're the one who kidnapped her! So, where is she? Don't test my patience!" My brother said angrily. Sophia was really lucky to have two powerful man to love her. I'm so envious. I acted like I reluctantly say where is she.

"Tsk. She's outside the city. Lana, give the map to my brother and his grace," I said and pulled myself from William's grip. My brother walked towards me with a full hatred on his face.

"Don't even try to leave this place! If you don't want to die, dear sister!" I smiled because of his words. And I admit, it hurts so bad. "You need to pay for what you did."

"Sure dear brother... Make me pay for all the bad deeds that I did," I whispered. After that, they all left. A few soldiers guarded my palace while the people I asked to protect me was either get captured or left this world. I sighed and fell down on my knees. I coughed out blood and the pain intensified.

"Your highness..." I looked at her and saw her worried face. I smiled to assure her.

"Lana, I've already done my part. I want to take a rest." When I said rest, It was an eternal rest because it was a fitting end for a villain like me. "Lana, prepare my bed."

"My Lady are you..." She trailed off. I smiled and nodded.

"It's time, Lana... thank you for your hard work..." A tear fell from her eyes. Then she cried.

"My lady... I will follow you to where your soul will go..." I don't know if Lana is serious or not but whatever. She can do what she wants.

"Lana, like I said... I prefer you to live and be happy with someone. Don't let me cage you Okay?" She shook her head.

"No, your highness. I will go wherever you are. I won't let you go alone. Please, your highness, take me with you..."

"It's not like I'm going to a Paradise," I said. She smiled.

"It's much more better than this place," she said and held my hand tightly. I wished she said were true. I don't know where I am going after this misery.

She helped me to get on my bed and laid me down. Now that I am here, my inside was burning, everything hurts. The metalic taste of bile, I gulped them down. Sure, the poison is eating me now.

"La... na... do you... think... I'll be happy... on my next life?" I whispered as I feel drowsy. Lana sat down on the floor beside me.

"You will be, princess. And I will be with you," I heard she say. I looked at her and she was already blured in my eyes. My senses started to dull. I can't hear anything anymore. I will take my rest now.

"Tha...nk... yo...u." With that, I let the darkness succumb me. At least, I'm done with my role as the villainess sister of the hero, Alliyah Ruby Grandia.
