Chapter 2:
Isekai Tensei Dungeon Master: Creating an Onsen Dungeon
Alright, let’s get started and see just what I can do here…
“Status Open!”
A status window-like display spreads out in front of my eyes.
I can check various things, like my current points and the maximum size of the dungeon I can expand.
……Whoa!?
I said it half-jokingly, but the status window actually popped up.
What a classic isekai cliche.
The controls are… basically identical to a smartphone.
It’s almost no different from a game.
I start tapping and reading through the dungeon creation procedures.
I’ve got 5,405 points to work with.
Checking to see how large a cave I could make with that, it seems I could build something about the size of a fairly big park.
And the points needed for things like onsens or deploying enemies are… hmm, I see.
While I’m fiddling with the window and checking things out, Core-chan is staring at me with wide eyes, with a shocked expression on her face.
“Huh? Wha? W-w-w-w-what is THAT!?”
Eh…?
Did I already do something outrageous?
To drop a typical isekai trope this fast…
…No wait, what exactly did I do?
I was literally just checking how to operate the dungeon, right?
“Normally, you materialize scrolls or books to view that kind of detailed information, right? So what the heck are you using!?”
Huh…?
Ah… I get it now.
In other words, because this was how I imagined checking dungeon info, it naturally manifested as this game-like status screen.
To someone from this world, something like this is completely outside the realm of their imagination, and the “Status Open” feature isn’t standard here.
That’s the conclusion I’m reaching.
Normally, magical books or scrolls would appear from the dungeon’s mana, and based on those, you’d run everything by hand… right?
…Ughhh. Just thinking about it… what a pain in the ass.
Managing the dungeon like it’s a casual smartphone game, just tapping around at ease, now that’s perfect. That’s exactly what I want.
Thank you, user interface wisdom built by Earth’s IT companies!
Looking closer, the screen even has descriptions of what can be done with my points.
It’s basically a rip-off of that old city-building simulation game I used to play obsessively.
Man, this is so easy. This rules!
While I tap around on the screen, testing the dungeon system, the dungeon core stares at me, her eyes darting around in disbelief.
“What is this…? It’s so easy… too easy! This is insane! What is this!? It’s cheating! How does this even work!?”
Watching me effortlessly build a temporary dungeon structure with a few taps, the dungeon core keeps shouting.
I don’t know how a Dungeon Core normally goes about building a dungeon, but it’s probably not like me, who can casually expand the cave and place objects around like I’m playing a city-building simulation game.
It’s obvious they can’t just freely cancel and edit things like this, definitely not this effortlessly.
So I totally get why she’s shouting “Cheating! Unfair!” nonstop.
But hey… this is what they call a modern-knowledge power fantasy. Sorry, not sorry.
“So… let’s make a hollow space here for the tub… now, the effects of the beauty onsen are…”
Because the miasma power of the first floor is at 10, the onsen skin-enhancing properties are possible.
“Magical skin-beautifying effect: Clears up heat rashes and minor skin chapping quickly, and even lightens acne. With about a week of daily use, it can also show efficacy against severe psoriasis, athlete’s foot, and pockmarks.”
Yeah… that’s pretty high quality spring water… those effects are impressive.
At the very least, if there were an onsen like this in my old world, it’d be a miracle spring, and people would flock to it.
“The water temperature… maxes out at 50 degrees on the first floor…? Nah, I don’t need it that hot, 42 degrees is fine. With this setting, the water volume is 300 liters per point… huh.
…For now, around 50 points’ worth of water per day should be good, right?
Considering the cost of keeping the water warm, maybe it’s better to steadily add hot water rather than trying to heat it constantly? I won’t really know until I test it out.”
“You can raise the temperature to 50°C, you know? You don’t want it that hot?”
“…Yeah, it’s obvious you don’t understand humans at all. Just leave the rest to me.”
“Wha…?”
I basically just told her, “I don’t need your explanations anymore.”
Declared nonessential, the dungeon core puffed up with a sulky, beet-red face.
She probably planned to explain everything about how to build a dungeon, step by step.
While watching the flat chested demon girl adorably glaring at me with her face all red, I quickly finish setting up the dungeon.
“Alright! Done! The Onsen Dungeon is open for business!”
I press the execute button and the dungeon begins construction.
– Time Until Completion: 22 hours, 32 minutes –
So loooong……
Can’t it finish instantly!?
Well, it’s not a game, so I guess building time is necessary… how annoying.
“This is insane… it’s too fast… designing even the first floor took me… months… uuugh…”
Core-chan’s muttering behind me, but I decide to ignore her.
