Do you ever feel that you aren't fulfilled with the life we have now? In this world called earth there's not enough seasoning to call it a home, if anything it's not even a full course meal to me.
“Mmm bacon~”
Suddenly I felt the glare of everyone in class.
“ZEN ZYLE ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING”
He's coming right here isn't he? I'll pretend that I'm asleep! Yea that's what I'll do.
“YOU CAN'T PRETEND YOU'RE ASLEEP NOW. I ASKED YOU WHO OUR PRIME MINISTER IS!”
Anyways, like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted. Isn't there something I can do besides start a family and get a 9 to 5 job?
Who am I kidding, only miracles like that happen.
“Tch looks like someone doesn't care that he gets an F.”
“Do whatever you want to teach.”
Outside during break just like now I like to just lay down under this special tree of mine, I like to call it Tree Z for the letter in my name.
“You really made the teacher angry this time, Zen teehee. It was so funny watching it”
This girl right here is a friend I've known since junior high. Her name is Chi, but that's not her actual name.
“Yea and you were the only one laughing, Chi.”
She'd find a faint smile before saying
“I'll always find your antics funny. However, you are gonna fail your grade again like you did last year.”
I’d sit up wiping away the leftover grass.
“Yeah, well what can you do? I just don't care for school anymore.”
Chi would sigh sitting down next to me, earlier she was standing in the way of the sun. Her body was nice for being used as sunglasses.
“Still going on about the ideology of no fulfillment?”
“OF COURSE! Have you seen my day to day life? Absolutely nothing happens.”
Her stare was soft, that of a caring friend who just wanted the best in me. Her dark blue hair and fragrant smell was just what I needed for days like this.
“Zen, maybe you just haven't found that thing you're looking for yet. Trust me that day will come, you just gotta let it happen.”
I know that, I really do. However it's just difficult. Who knows when that day will come.
Some time passed and I was walking my way back home. Not like anyone is gonna be there, I have no siblings and my parents died together in a car accident.
“Do you seek fulfillment?”
The voice was deep, but I had no idea where it was coming from. I looked all around but to no avail I was alone until I was brought to a white room with a yellow glowing ball floating in mid air.
“Where am I? And why is there a floating ball”
I tried touching it but the ball moved
I tried grabbing it this time but it moved again.
I tried again this time using all my force to touch the ball… but it moved again.
“Hey what's with this thing?”
Suddenly it's as if the ball was talking to me.
“Can you not answer my question, boy?”
Oh right I guess it did say that.
“Before that, what are you?”
It was weird. I definitely hear a voice coming from it, but how is it even talking? I've never been so uncomfortable until now.
“I am what you may call a god. I have no form so I'm in the presence of this ball. I've come here to grant your wish of fulfillment and transport you to a new world.”
Uhh okay that was a lot to take in so basically I'll have to say goodbye to this world huh?
Chi will probably be mad, but besides her who would really care if I was gone…
This may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to do something, and I gotta take that chance.
“Okay then, God I do seek fulfilment”
“Very good boy. Before I send you there, there's something you have to know. Apologies, boy but I can't send you to a city and instead you'll be sent to a deadly forest nobody ever goes into so you'll be alone for sometime. However! Don't lose hope because I will send you anything of your choice.”
Please let there be something useful I can use.
“What are my choices?”
“A metal bottle, a dagger, and a basic book about magic.”
God said.
THERE'S MAGIC!! Wait no stay calm Zen… I need to know how to use magic.
I grinned from ear to ear ready to take in this fresh world.
“I’ll take them all. I think I'm ready now, God.”
The balls glowed intensified as the only thing I could see was yellow.
Finally it's time to be fulfilled!
When I opened my eyes I could see that I was in the middle of a forest. On the ground were the things God gave me.
“Alright I guess first thing I should do is—”
My stomach started to hurt, and grumbled probably because I haven't eaten anything.
Wait, I have just arrived so why am I hungry? I guess it really did transport everything about me even from when I last ate.
“First things first, time to find some food.”
I took what I had and headed to the nearest bush in search of some berries.
I searched and searched until 10 minutes went by and there were none to be found.
Once again my stomach grumbled.
“I'M ALREADY FRUSTRATED, WHERE CAN I GET SOME DAMN FOOD?!”
I spotted something ruffling through these bushes
It kinda looks like…
Once I got a little closer it appeared to be a rabbit. I took out my dagger and steadily walked closer to the rabbit until it was in hunting range.
I got closer and closer.
Finally it's time.
My stomach grumbled and the rabbit noticed the sound my stomach made.
“OH OF ALL THE TIMES”
I ran as fast as I could until I leaped forward striking with my dagger aiming for it’s stomach.
“AEEK!!!”
“GOTCHA”
just to be safe I stabbed it one more time to make sure it died.
Now… How do you skin a rabbit? I'll just figure it out.
After taking the knife I tried skinning the rabbit. It was looking a little rough, but in the end I ended up doing it.
“Now what I need is… oh yea I need a fire!”
Grabbing a few sticks and stones I set up a rather okay area as the base of operations for now.
“If I remember correctly I gotta twist this stick until a fire comes out. This will be my first time, but I think I can figure it out.”
After twisting the stick a minute goes by.
Now it's 10 minutes.
And now it's 20 minutes.
“Damn this stick! Maybe there's a different way… let me try one more time.”
In the end I finally managed to get a spark and so the fire was set.
The sun was soon setting so I went ahead and roasted the bunny meat.
“Mmm~ it's so good. I guess I should read the magic book.”
In the book it says the way to activate your magic is to put your hand out and imagine one's magic. The first thing you think of is the element you'll start off with.
The next page says every magician can only activate two elements, unless you're one of the lucky ones and can manipulate 3 elements. There's tiers for each element, with their being tier I the lowest and tier 5 the highest.
“I guess that's all I'll read for now. So all I gotta do is imagine huh?”
I'd walk over to a nearby tree and raise my hand aiming for the tree and begun closing my eyes.
The first thing I think of… fire? No, that's not really what I imagine. The thing I imagine is…
I can feel my magic power being sucked out of my hand.
I heard a familiar sound, when I opened my eyes what came out was water that soaked the tree.
Elsewhere in the same forest Zen was in, there was a teenage girl asleep being carried away and thrown on the ground. She had long ears with dark skin, white hair and a curvaceous figure.
The guys that carried her left without her sight and were walking away after putting her down.
The girl was half asleep and muttered a word everyone knows.
“Don't… go.”
