Ch 2: The elf who had no home

I've never had a home.
     “Bastard child!”
 

    “You should've never been born!”

I hear stuff like that on a daily basis. In my clan there's nobles just like any other nation, it's just I've never had that luxury even though I have the blood of a noble.

I don't have a friend, all I need is my mother to be here with me.

     “Mom! I'm home.”
We were always so poor, but we were pitied by the king and given a cheap house, only good 

enough to have one bedroom.

Just like always my mom had bruises all over her body, probably from our clan members 

throwing rocks at her while she went shopping.

Her elven ears had a cut on them, and her dark 

skin was growing pale once I saw her.

     “Oh welcome back sweetie, hopefully you 

had a good day—”

Her sentence was interrupted by the coughing. She kept coughing so I rushed over to her side.
 

    “Are you okay? You're really pale!”

I asked.
 

    “O-oh, I'll be fine. I just need a quick rest.”

I'm worried. This isn't the first time she's been sick, it's been going on for several weeks now

I'm afraid that at this rate she'll—

I had closed my eyes trying my best to not shed a singular tear. But I felt a warm, yet cold embrace from my mom.

     “It's okay, you'll be fine even if I'm gone, that's what I believe. Remember this, Rin 

Rockford. I'll always be w-with yo—”

Her temperature started going down, I could tell by how he sudden embrace was getting colder and colder until she had gone limp.
 

    “H-hey, mom? Haha funny joke, you can wake up now… hey?”

You left me alone in this cruel world. How am I supposed to do this without you…

Mom…

I don't wanna have to do it, but I'll have to carry her body myself and give her a proper burial.

After going outside I tried to carry her on my back.

Geez you're so heavy.

Back when I was a kid it was me who was always on your back, now it's the other way around.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do after this, or where I'm supposed to go. However your last words will always stay with me forever.

After digging a hole with a shovel I grabbed earlier I laid her in it silently.

I wonder what kind of face I have on right now—

No, it doesn't matter right now.

I could hear someone lurking in the shadows nearby.

     “Who's there!?”

Someone came out, but before that they blew some sort of dart.

Damnit, I couldn't avoid it.
I feel sleepy all of a sudden, maybe just a little 

rest.

When I came to I could hear a small conversation as I was being carried away. I don't have the strength to move so I guess I'll 

just listen.

The main guy carrying me started speaking.
   

     “Are you sure that's what the leader said?”

The guy on the right responded with.
  

   “Yeah, once we take this girl to the forest of gradula we're gonna have the ceremony to crown the rightful heir, Princess Teal.”

So, they're gonna make her the Queen. Teal has always hated my family, it would only 

make sense she's behind this. 

Telling these men to take me to the forest is 

like taking out the trash.

That's it, I've given up. I just wanna die at this 

point.

Mom's final words, what would she do?
They would set my body aside, but it was rough, as if I had been cast aside like a piece of 

trash.

For the first time in my life I said the very thing I didn't like saying.   

  “Someone… help… Me.”

[Zen’s POV]It was the next day as I was savaging around to 

find out the layout of this forest.

I've figured out that this forest is a nightmare. Not only do you get lost easily, but there's tons 

of big monsters.

Of course yours truly didn't fight them. Who do you think I am? Fighting those beasts when I 

can only shoot water.

If only if I had some way of making the water I shoot denser like a gun. That way it will make me more deadly, like pew pew!

Grrrr

Wait I hear something.
It was the growling of wolves, but it sounds 

louder as if there's multiple.

Eh they're prob just eating some sheep… 
But my curiosity got the better of me so I hid in 

a bush nearby.

From what I could see they're surrounding a 

girl.

Why is she wearing nothing but tatters? Does 

this girl have no decency?

Nonetheless she's unconscious. Damnit I've 

never fought a wolf before.

I might as well give it a shot and see if I can 

make my water denser.

Just a little miracle I'm only asking this much
I'd point my finger in the shape of a finger gun 

and aimed it at one of the wolves.

'Keep calm, remember what the book said. Imagine the water shooting out of my hand, and like a gun I... FIRE!'

Whoosh! Went the water and it fired.

Splash.

     “ARE YOU KIDDING ME IT WASN'T POWERFUL AT ALL.”

'Shit, I said that out loud.'

GRRRRR.

The wolves came rushing towards me so I took in a quick breath and rushed forward with my dagger.

I tried to avoid their attacks but they were too fast. My clothes helped in lessening the damage from their attacks, but I still was injured in the 

process.

I slashed one wolf, and then another until soon 

the 3 wolves were all dead.

I layed on the ground covered in wounds. My uniform that I had from my world was now in 

tatters.

     “Well, atleast I saved someone in the 

process.”

Looking at her from up close, she does look 

beautiful while sleeping.

Then again maybe I'm just saying that cause 

she's basically half naked.

Wait a minute, she's a dark Elf. So I really am in a fantasy world. I know that there were 

monsters, but to actually have Elves.

Is there dwarves or Hero's in this world too? I can't wait to get out of this goddamn forest.

'I'm glad you're safe, whoever you are.'
