Chapter 0:

UNKNOWN AND THE END

STAR AWESOME

"It's finally done."

A voice mixed with triumph and agony emerged from a figure lingering in the shadows. He took a step forward, letting the sliver of moonlight welcome him. Revealing a dark-haired man with sharp features carrying a dull expression. He tilted his head slightly as his gaze drifted outside the window. A satisfied smile took over his face as he murmured, "The fruit of our desire—"

His lips froze for a moment. Clenching his teeth, he leaned against the cold wall. He stood there for some time, and he seemed lost in his thoughts. The sound of the breeze filled the nightly hour. He finally snapped back to the moment at hand. His gaze lingered on the boy who was deep asleep. His expressions relaxed as he approached the bed. He gently tousled the boy's hair with a faint smile.

"I know you are very young... whispering, "But that is what makes you the most ideal person."

The boy stirred slightly, still asleep. His dreams wouldn't allow him to escape into reality, keeping him unaware. The man sighed as he backed away from the kid and returned to the window. His gaze dawdled at the surreal blue moon that shone amidst millions of stars. The blue glimmered in his bright red eyes. He stood there staring until he closed his eyes. He took a resounding breath and murmured.

"Why do humans live this short…" he sighed. "Well, not only them but many others too."

He opened his eyes, and the crimson hue had been replaced with the surreal blue. He sighed softly, shifted his gaze to the boy, and whispered as if addressing the child.

"Gladly, my days are numbered."

He chuckled softly. Even though he had emitted words about his own demise. The tranquil eyes finally glistened dreamily. Turning around, he looked at the boy with an emotionless glare.

"Farewell, the worthless fruit of our efforts; carry on with our motive when none of us will be there to see the outcome we craved."

He approached the door of the boy's room. He raised his hand, which hovered above the knob for a moment. Suddenly, something swept across his mind. He spoke without looking at the boy.

"Ah, child, you said you wanted to name this place Star Awesome... I will let it be, though that's only true ironically." He turned the knob and stepped into the darkness.

Blinding hues of red and blue lights flashed, and the loud, piercing sound of sirens filled the air. The murmuring sound of the spectators added to his headache. The throbbing continued to escalate, numbing all the other senses.

“Why…a…rrrr…so loud?”

His words were slurred, mostly limited to his mind. The pain penetrated every inch of his being, blurring his vision and demanding that he give in to rest. The faces of the noisy agonisers distorted; slowly his lids lowered and lowered as his body felt numb. Lifting in a deep slumber, with his senses finally giving him the peace he craved.

“………..”

He stood inside a dark void. He took a step forward in a daze, and the sound of splattering water echoed. Unconsciously, he continued taking step after step. The smell of mould and wet sand filled his nostrils, creating a blur reminiscent of rain. He knew he loved the smell of it. He finally stopped walking, though it was obscure, but he was able to make out that it was a door. He reached for the knob and turned it.

In a blink his surroundings changed. The darkness was replaced with a sunlit floor made of lustrous white concrete. He stood leaning against a wall. The humid smell was replaced with a flowery fragrance. His feet were no longer submerged in water. He blinked, taking a few steps forward.

Before he had the time to process his surroundings, a girl’s voice called out to him from behind. Turning around, he saw a brown-haired girl.

"vadjdjl......ddhjkas*30m@mfs" She finished uttering something and looked at him with gleaming eyes, awaiting a response.
