Chapter 722:

Chapter 724: Desperate Statue

Beyond The Stars

Chapter 724: Desperate Statue

With the Tyrant Zeth statue defeated, only the Tyrant Sasha statue remains!

Keith jumps to avoid the Tyrant Sasha statue’s stomp. However, the statue immediately tries to punch him while he is still in the air. He opens his eyes wide and clenches his teeth. “Oh crap!”

To defend himself, he crosses his arms in front of his face. The punch smashes directly into Keith at a downward diagonal angle. Upon reaching the ground, his feet dig in as he is pushed back, crumbling large chunks of it. But his defense holds.

“You’re strong, but I’m stronger!” Keith shouts.

As he holds his defense, a series of Star Shards flies in and all slice through the statue’s neck, decapitating it. With its head gone, the statue’s attack ends, but it does not fall over.

Keith turns his head to the left to see Harmona and Zaydra, standing there, ready to help.

“I assume this means you took out the other statue?” Keith says.

Zaydra smiles with confidence. “You bet we did.”

“Let’s finish this one the same way we did the other!” Harmona commands, not wanting to hold anything back.

The statue’s head glows with a purple magic aura, floating back to its shoulders, where it reattaches itself.

Harmona forms a basketball-sized meteor in her hand while Zaydra tries to push her raging aura onto it. However, to their surprise, the statue runs and jumps over them to continue past them.

“Why did it do that?!” Keith shouts.

“Don’t ask me!” Zaydra replies, a dumbfounded look etched onto her face.

“Whatever reason it did that for, it can’t be good!” Harmona yells. “Let’s chase it down!!”

With urgency, the three of them run after the statue.

“So, where is the source magic in this statue?!” Zaydra asks in a loud tone.

“I can’t tell exactly where but it appears to be somewhere in its upper back!” Harmona answers in a similarly loud tone.

“Perfect!” Zaydra shouts with confidence.

Harmona’s eyes widen as she realizes where the statue is going. “It’s heading for the remains of the other statue!!”

“What does that mean?!” Keith shouts in reply.

“I don’t know, but as I said, it can’t be good!!”

Zaydra clenches her teeth, filled with urgency and determination. “I got this!”

She forms and throws three Raging Star Shards. They slice through one of the statue’s legs, causing it to fall over forward.

“Yes!” Zaydra shouts as she fist pumps.

“Unfortunately, your celebration is premature,” Harmona says coldly.

“What?!!”

The statue extends its right arm forward, the remains of the dead statue glow and float toward it. Each piece combines with its body, causing its own magic to grow. The leg quickly reattaches.

“Zaydra!! Quick, before it gets up!!” Harmona commands.

The Tyrant Sasha statue surprises them once again by standing up quickly and unleashing a powerful wave of magic energy from its body in all directions. The wave blows Harmona, Zaydra, and Keith back, while also damaging the buildings around it, breaking off entire chunks. The small buildings close to the statue outright collapse.

Keith pushes a large chunk of steel off himself. “What the hell, man…” he utters as he rubs his forehead.

Harmona emerges from a partially destroyed building, frustrated. “If only we knew this was a possibility.”

Zaydra, no longer in Raging Star Mode, lies on the roof of a building, small pieces of rubble covering her torso and legs. She sits up and brushes off the rubble. “What just hap—?” She interrupts herself, widening her eyes, as she stares off in the distance, seeing the statue. “Woah…”

The Tyrant Sasha statue stands tall, its fists clenched. Its face formed with a new expression, anger and seriousness. A powerful purple aura surrounds its entire body. It turns to face Harmona and Keith, extending its arms forward as purple magic energy condenses into its hands.

Harmona turns toward Keith, screaming, “Get out of the way!!!”

Keith scrambles as the statue releases a powerful beam of purple magic energy straight for Harmona and Keith. They jump out of the way to avoid a direct hit, but are still zapped by the sparks of electricity extending out from the edges. The beam continues until it hits a building, blowing the whole building up with a large explosion.

Harmona lands to the side, just a few cuts on her legs from the sparks. However, Keith has a long trail of blood flowing down the side of his left leg as he lands to the right. “Damn it, that got me good…” he mutters in pain.

“Are you okay?!” Harmona shouts with concern.

Keith’s left leg shakes a bit as he struggles to stand. “Yeah… it’s not great, but I’m not out of this.”

Zaydra dashes toward Keith, stopping when she reaches him. “You dumbass! Why didn’t you use your portals to escape?!”

“I haven’t set up any that weren’t in the path of the beam,” Keith replies. “I was relying on my strength for this battle.

“Well, guess what. We’re going to need to use your portals to attack its source magic.” Zaydra says before she leans in closer to whisper in his ear, “We just need you to create a portal exit on its upper back.”

Keith nods, not saying a word in reply, but staring at the statue with determination. He discretely taps Zaydra’s right hand.

The statue prepares another beam attack as Zaydra shouts at Harmona, “Let’s go, Mom!!”

“Right!” Harmona acknowledges as she and Zaydra dash toward the statue.

Harmona forms a large Shooting Star and releases straight for the now oncoming beam. The Shooting Star and beam collide, pushing against each other in a struggle.

“Sorry, but the stars are calling!!” Harmona screams as she kicks the Shooting Star with an upward thrust, sending both the star and the beam straight into the sky.

Zaydra runs past the statue to its backside. “Mom, over here!!”

Harmona follows her lead, running past the statue before stopping next to Zaydra. She forms the basketball-sized meteor in her hands once again. Zaydra reactivates Raging Star Mode and pushes her raging aura until it wraps around the meteor, but without touching it directly. The statue turns around to face them, preparing another beam attack.

Zaydra gulps as she thinks, “Keith, you better pull through!!”

As the statue nearly finishes preparing its attack, Keith runs and jumps up to touch its upper back with his hand. After landing back on the ground, he screams, “NOW!!!” as he jumps back to get away.

Two portals open, one on the statue’s upper back, and the other in Zaydra’s right hand. With just one quick shove from Harmona, the raging aura-covered meteor goes through the portal, emerging out of the one on the statue’s back. The raging aura gouges out chunks of its back as the meteor pushes further in.

“Say goodbye!!” Zaydra shouts as she clenches her fist, condensing the raging aura into the meteor. Just like with the first statue, the meteor bursts into more raging pieces, leading to a series of tiny explosions within the statue’s upper back. By the time the explosions end, the statue’s entire back has been destroyed to the point that not even a speck of dust remains. With the source magic destroyed, the statue collapses for good.

Harmona, Zaydra, and Keith all breathe a sigh of relief.

“Finally, it’s over,” Zaydra mutters.

“I’m just amazed that statues, regardless of the magic powering them, could give us that much trouble,” Harmona adds.

Suddenly, they hear a loud, disgusting groaning noise, catching their attention.

Zaydra looks over at Keith. “Was that you?”

Keith glances back at her like she is crazy. “What?! In what world does that sound like a noise I’d make?”

They hear the noise again, but this time it’s closer. They turn their heads in the same direction, looking into the gap between two buildings. Out from that gap comes a mutant zombie, the original person that mutant zombie used to be is a woman with long, flowing black hair, and Dark Divine Eyes. The rest of her body is made up of different parts of different divine beings, mostly angels and demons.

“Another zombie, huh?” Keith says, not impressed.

Harmona stares at the mutant zombie for just a moment before opening her eyes wide. “The primary person used to make that zombie is Hamura!”

Zaydra and Keith gasp in shock. “What?!!!”

Having finally defeated the tyrant statues, Harmona, Zaydra, and Keith find themselves confronted by a new foe, a mutant zombie made from Hamura’s body!!
