Chapter 10:

Chapter 10 – The Godless Path

The Hero Who Shouldn’t Exist

The blade pulsed in his hand.

Not with warmth—but hunger.

It wasn’t just a weapon. It was a wound. A memory given form, etched with the grief of his death and the silence that followed it.
Yoru stared at it. The Tsuyoi Relic forged from the altar in the void. And it stared back.

“You’ve crossed the line,” said a voice behind him.

A woman, clad in ceremonial armor, glowing with golden scripture—an Apostle of the First Flame. One of the high enforcers of the holy order. A servant of the narrative that had erased him.

“You’re not in the prophecy. You’re not even supposed to exist.”

“Exactly,” Yoru said coldly. “That’s why I’m not bound by its laws.”

She struck without warning.

Flames shaped like divine verses tore through the sky. She wasn’t holding back. This wasn’t a duel—it was an execution.

Yoru raised the blade.

Not to block, but to devour.

The fire hit him—and vanished.

Swallowed.

The sky dimmed. Even the Apostle flinched.

“W-What… is that blade?”

“A sin made manifest,” Yoru whispered. “Forged not by gods… but by abandonment.”

He lunged.

There was no elegance to his strike. Only rage. Grief. A twisted form of justice.

Their weapons clashed—faith versus void.

And when the dust settled, only one was standing.

Yoru didn’t look at her body. He looked at the people watching from the shadows—priests, knights, villagers.

None of them recognized him.

But all of them feared him now.

Let them.

Let the world build a new myth…

One drenched in fear, not faith.
