The Birth Of The Shadow

The gang leader felt an intense pain. He had no idea who had attacked him, but it was Vael who had sliced off his hand. Furious, he called for his men to attack. But their level was so far below Vael’s that it didn’t even take him two minutes to knock them all out.

The twin assassins who witnessed the scene wondered if this man was even human. Vael was about to leave when the twins asked him to wait.

First, they bowed to thank him. Then, they asked if they could join his team.

Vael replied, “Suppose I accept you... what will you offer me in return?”

A moment of silence followed. The twins knew all too well that, given his overwhelming strength, they would be of no use in combat since they were still only level 2. They had only one option left.

They responded, “We can help you with household chores.”

Vael smiled upon hearing this answer and said, “Fine. But there’s one thing I expect from you: absolute obedience.”

The twins agreed to his condition.

Upon entering his house with the girls, Vael thought to himself, Even if they say they’ll obey me completely, I still can’t trust them. In this apocalypse, humans are more dangerous than monsters.

After bringing them inside, he reluctantly left them alone in the house to go hunting. He spent the rest of the day hunting until he reached level 10.

Suddenly, the system announced:

“You have reached level 10. A random class will be assigned to you.”

Vael thought back, In my past life, I had a common class called ‘Second Chance.’

He wondered if he would receive the same again.

But then the system declared:

“You have obtained the legendary class: Necromancer — a class based on control.”

“You have also obtained the skill: Absolute Control — allows you to control any person 5 levels below you, with permanent effect.”

Vael didn’t understand why he had received a different class this time, but without overthinking it, he decided to test the skill. He returned home.

Once there, he called the twins and asked them to stand in front of him.

The twins had a bad feeling about this, not knowing what he was about to do, but they obeyed.

Then, Vael said the words “Absolute Control” targeting both of them.

Immediately after, the twins dropped to their knees and said:

“We grant you absolute obedience.”

A look of shock appeared on Vael’s face — quickly

 replaced by a sinister, devilish smile.
