Chapter 1:

Chapter 1 – A New Life

My Second Life Is OverPower [VOL 1]

Syura woke up in a luxurious room that looked like it belonged inside a palace. Surrounding him were elegant golden carvings, but Syura was still in shock and confused.

"What exactly happened to me!?"

"I only remember I was buying groceries for Mom," said Syura in a questioning tone.

The sound of footsteps could be faintly heard approaching a certain place.

Tap... tapp... tapp — the sound of footsteps heading toward the golden throne.

“Wh...who are you?” asked Syura stammeringly, his eyes showing fear.

The figure kept walking toward the throne and sat there gracefully.

Gradually, it became clear—

A figure of a goddess, elegant and stunningly beautiful. Her ears were like an elf’s, and her smile brought peace to anyone. Her gaze was full of affection, and her voice was as soft as cotton.

“Welcome, Syura. You are now in between two worlds—life and death,” said the graceful goddess.

Syura sat there, still confused, unaware of what had happened.

“Who are you? You’re clearly not an ordinary human... and how do you know my name?” asked Syura firmly.

“I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Grace Varmlion, the one assigned to watch over this place,” said the graceful goddess.

With a curious and questioning tone, Syura asked,

“Then why am I here? What’s your purpose in calling me here?”

“I just bought groceries for my mom,” said Syura.

The goddess simply smiled faintly at him.

“My purpose? None... My task is only to guard this place.”

Then the goddess revealed the bitter yet ridiculous truth.

“Syura, oh human, you are dead... crushed by a flower vase from the 15th floor.”

Syura was shocked and still couldn’t believe everything that had happened.

“I’m dead? That’s impossible... Especially just from a flower vase.”

The elegant goddess stood up from her throne and opened a screen, like a blue holographic display.

“If you don’t believe me, see for yourself.”

“You died from something ridiculous,” she said with a slight smile toward Syura.

Syura could only fall silent, words failing him. The frustration was clear in his eyes—he died in such a foolish way.

However, the goddess gave Syura a second chance to live again, but not on Earth. Instead, in a place filled with magic, level systems, and dungeons that couldn’t be explained with logic.

“Don’t worry, I will give you a second chance.”

“But this place is not Earth.”

“This world is filled with magic, classes, levels, and dungeons.”

“Do you want to live there? Or do you choose death?”

asked the goddess to Syura, who still looked upset.

Then Syura stood up before the goddess.

“Of course, that’s a very tempting offer.”

But the goddess emphasized one thing—every choice has its risks.

“There’s one thing you must remember: if you die in that world, there will be no more chances for you.”

Syura smiled faintly, his eyes filled with determination in front of the goddess.

“That won’t be a problem for me.”

The goddess stepped down from the throne and walked toward a golden crystal.

“You will choose your own path.”

“Choose your class, your abilities, and your job.”

Syura stepped toward the golden crystal and touched it.

“I want to be an Assassin.”

“My ability is speed.”

The goddess affirmed Syura’s choice, as it seemed fairly simple.

“Are you sure about your choice?”

But before answering, Syura spoke silently in his heart—something only he knew—while his hand was still touching the golden crystal.

Then...

“Secret Ability: The Eater,” Syura said in his heart, even the goddess didn’t know.

“What is your job?” asked the goddess.

“My main job is adventurer. My second job is food seller.”

“I just want to live a peaceful life,” said Syura.

The goddess agreed to everything Syura asked for.

“Alright, your request shall be granted.”

Suddenly, a light from above shone down on Syura, and he was teleported to another world.
