Chapter 3:

Chapter 3 - Anvil

My Second Life Is OverPower [VOL 1]

As Syura stepped deeper in, the city of Anvil appeared bustling and busy.

Syura looked around and saw many sturdy wooden houses. The main road was crowded with merchants, and on the right, he could hear blacksmiths forging swords.

Many children were running around playing.

"Catch me if you can!"

"Chase me!" shouted the kids as they played.

Syura continued forward. More and more merchants were selling goods—fresh vegetables, fruits, clothes, weapons, jewelry, and food.

"The town I thought was small, turns out to be very lively inside."

"I'd better go to the adventurer guild first to register," said Syura.

From a distance, Syura saw a fairly large building, approximately three floors inside. He got closer and closer.

Then...

Syura arrived in front of the adventurer guild. Clearly written on a wooden signboard was:

[Guild Void]

Syura entered. Inside the guild was very crowded—some people were relaxing, others looking at the mission board.

“Clack” the sound of the door opening as Syura entered the guild.

All eyes turned to one point—Syura. The once noisy room suddenly fell silent.

"Hello, I'm Syura, a new member here to register with Guild Void," said Syura from the entrance.

"I thought it was someone important, turns out it’s just a kid," said an unknown adventurer.

Immediately, the other adventurers laughed, and the noise resumed.

Syura stepped in and approached the registration desk. There he saw a beautiful receptionist, wearing a white outfit with black stripes and a skirt.

"Hello, welcome to Guild Void. My name is Ecelra Silvia, and I'll be helping you register for this guild," said Silvia.

Before registering, Syura asked why the place had three different floors.

"Hello Silvia, before I register, I’d like to ask a few things."

"First, why does this guild have three different floors?"

Silvia gave a small smile and explained to Syura.

"That question is easy to answer."

"The first floor is for lower ranks, from F up to B."

"The second floor is for A up to SS, SSS, and SSS+."

"The top floor is for rank G+."

Then Silvia continued explaining to Syura.

"Each floor has different difficulties, and the rewards received are also different."

"Every guild around the world has three floors to separate the ranks."

"So, would you like to register?"

Syura had one more question for Silvia.

"Why is this guild so crowded?"

"Is something happening?"

Silvia, still smiling gently at Syura.

"Nothing's happening, the guild is just always this busy."

Suddenly, a book behind Silvia fell.

“Plak” —the sound of the book hitting the floor.

Silvia immediately picked up the fallen book, but Syura grew curious about what it was.

"What book is that, Silvia?" asked Syura.

"This book? Orb of Infinity, it's not very important," she said.

Then...

"Can I take a quick look at it?" asked Syura.

"Of course," Silvia replied.

She handed the book to Syura. As he flipped to a random chapter, he saw the words:

[Limitless Power]

Syura turned to the next page. He was shocked—his hands trembled, his gaze hollow—as he saw an image in the book.

Inside his heart:

"Th... this is exactly the same as the slime core I destroyed earlier," said Syura to himself.

Then Silvia called out loudly to him.

"Syura... are you still going to register?" asked Silvia.

Syura closed the book and returned it to her.

"Here’s your book back."

"Wait... I will register, but there’s something I need to confirm first," said Syura.

"Alright, come back whenever you’re ready," replied Silvia.

Syura stepped away from the registration desk and exited the guild building.

Standing in front of the guild door—

"I have to make sure my suspicion is wrong."

Syura raised his index finger and opened his status again.

"STATUS," he said firmly.

A blue holographic panel appeared:

Name: Syura
Level: unknown
HP: unknown
MP: unknown
STR: unknown
AGI: unknown
INT: unknown
DEX: unknown
VIT: unknown
LUK: unknown
Class: Assassin

     (Unknown: The Eater)

Syura stood frozen, not moving. His face looked confused, shocked, and pale.

"Th... this can't be," said Syura.

"If this is real... I have to hide it."

Not long after, Syura returned to the guild and approached the registration desk again.

"So, have you taken care of what you needed?" asked Silvia.

"Yes," Syura replied firmly.

Silvia handed Syura the registration form.

He filled out the form while still hiding his real status.

Then he returned the form to Silvia.

"Level: 1
Class: Assassin
Job: Food Vendor," Silvia read aloud.

"You don’t need to go to the merchant guild, I’ll handle everything," said Silvia.

Then, an ID-like card emerged and was handed to Syura.

"Your rank is F. If you're diligent in completing missions, you'll rank up quickly."

Suddenly, the entire guild shook and cracks formed on the floor.

“Craaack!!” —the sound of the floor breaking.

Then, some adventurers shouted:

"He's returned!"

"He's coming!"

"The strongest one!"

The guild door slowly opened...
