Chapter 12:
My Second Life Is OverPower [VOL 1]
As Syura stepped into the open door, suddenly everything turned white.
"Flashhh" Syura's vision turned completely white.
When Syura slowly opened his eyes, he was already inside a forest, and right in front of him was what looked like a cliff.
Then Syura walked slowly.
"Tappp...tapp..tapp" Syura's footsteps moved toward the edge of the cliff.
When Syura reached the edge, he saw a massive, vast, and prosperous city.
Then, a holographic notification appeared.
[The Largest City]
[Valhem]
"Valhem, quite a beautiful name."
"But I still don't understand why I ended up here," said Syura.
Syura jumped from the very high cliff like an assassin.
[Gravity Skill - active]
"Swingggg" the sound of Syura leaping.
Syura landed at the bottom of the cliff.
Suddenly, upon landing, a Cerberus was already in front of him.
"I just landed, and you're already welcoming me?"
[Cerberus]
[Threat: Extremely Dangerous]
"I don't have time for a weak creature like you."
[Shadow Step Skill: Active]
In an instant, Syura was already behind the Cerberus, walking toward the city of Valhem.
The Cerberus was already split, its body marked with slashes of fire and ice.
[Cerberus: Defeated]
Syura continued his journey, following the path toward the city of Valhem.
Five minutes later, Syura arrived in front of Valhem's city fortress.
Massive, sturdy walls were visible.
At the entrance, there was only one guard, a very beautiful woman wielding a golden spear, wearing red clothing with yellow accents.
Syura stepped closer.
"Tapp..tapp..tapp" Syura's footsteps approached.
Then, Syura arrived at the gate.
"Who are you? What is your purpose?" asked the guard.
"Hello, I’m Syura. I’m from a very distant city called Anvil."
"Nice to meet you, Syura. I'm Karina, one of Valhem's guards."
"Anvil? I’ve heard of that city before."
"The smallest city among all others," said Karina.
Then, Karina asked in a very gentle tone,
"So, what is your purpose for coming to Valhem?"
"Valhem is the strongest city, and also the largest," said Karina.
"I want to join the adventurer guild here in Valhem."
"I also want to sell food in this city," said Syura.
Then Karina asked Syura to show his identity card.
"Let me see your identity card first," said Karina.
Syura pulled out his identity card from his shirt pocket and gave it to Karina.
"Syura"
"Last Guild: Void"
"Class: Assassin, Side Job: Food Seller"
"Void? The nearest guild during that incident."
Syura answered nervously,
"U-uh... I was really scared during that incident."
"I was fixing the ice door at an old lady’s house."
"I was very close when it happened."
"My body was trembling and shivering."
Karina allowed Syura to enter.
"You may enter."
"Welcome to Valhem."
"I hope you can join a guild in this city," said Karina.
"Thank you so much, Karina."
Syura stepped into Valhem.
On both sides, there were houses made of wood, more modern than the ones in Anvil.
Residents of various races could be seen, such as elves, dark elves, beastmen, and regular humans.
Everyone looked harmonious, helping each other — some were hanging clothes, others cleaning the gutters.
There were also shops selling various foods and accessories.
But there was one house that had a completely different aura, a terrifying one.
From afar, a very sturdy white house with red accents could be seen, about two stories tall.
Syura slowly approached.
"Tapp..tapp..tapp" the sound of Syura’s footsteps approaching the house.
A few minutes later, Syura arrived in front of the house.
And written on a wooden sign with golden accents:
"Guild The One"
