Chapter 5:
Milf Tamer - Banished from the Hero Party , and now I'm the Strongest
This was probably how a badly written dream started.
Bleeding in front of a woman who looked like she could incinerate nations with a yawn, while my body trembled from something deeper than fear. A weight, maybe. Or the crushing realization that everything up until now had been a big, cosmic joke at my expense.
“A mortal who dares speak to me with such insolence…” the woman said. No, not a woman. Athenra. The Goddess of Snake and Dragon. The one sealed away in every ancient myth parents used to keep their daughters from becoming too arrogant—ironically ineffective in Gaianthra, where matriarchy reigned like a lazy cat on a throne of whipped husbands.
I stood my ground because falling over felt pathetic.
Also, I couldn't feel my legs anymore.
She raised one clawed finger. My breath froze mid-exit.
“Why do you protect that serpent?” Her voice crackled like old thunder. “You, who have been rejected. Abandoned.”
I wanted to say something brave.
Instead, I coughed up blood and said, “I don’t know. Maybe I’m just stupid.”
Nice. Really heroic.
But maybe that’s what I was. Stupid. For staying. For fighting. For trying to tame a beast when I couldn’t even tame my own bitterness.
The serpent beast huddled behind me. Just a low-ranked crawler, probably destined to be someone's boot in a better story. But it hadn’t run. And neither had I.
That counted for something, right?
Athenra tilted her head. “You bleed. Yet you do not kneel.”
“That’s because my knees stopped listening an hour ago.”
Her lips twitched. Just slightly. If gods could smirk, I’d just seen the most terrifying one.
Then, without warning, she moved. A flash of red light—no, not red. Crimson, deep like wine and just as dangerous—burst from her palm, and struck me in the chest.
I didn’t scream. Not out of pride.
I just didn’t have the air.
---
Pain isn’t just a feeling. It’s a philosophy. It strips away your lies, your pride, your "I'm totally fine" mask. All that’s left is raw, trembling self-honesty. Mine sounded like this:
I'm going to die. Alone. In a ravine. After being insulted by a sentient lizard god-woman.
Classic Kira ending.
Then, something shifted.
Like a thousand tiny teeth biting into my spine at once.
My vision flooded with light. But not blinding. More like… illuminating. Every scar, every failure, every whispered insult I’d swallowed without reply—suddenly, it meant something.
The goddess stepped forward, eyes narrowing. “So. You accepted it.”
“Accepted what?” I rasped.
“The Core. The Attribute of Heaven. The gift of the Serpent-Dragon.”
My heartbeat skipped like a broken drum. And then… it roared back to life.
Scales shimmered along my arms. Subtle, like tattoos made of starlight. My senses exploded. I could hear the serpent behind me breathing. I could smell the centuries on the temple walls. I could feel Athenra’s gaze like heat crawling down my skin.
My teeth ached. Something long and sharp pushed against my gums.
Fangs.
Oh god, I was growing fangs.
“Your body will reject weakness now,” Athenra said, circling me like a flame learning how to dance. “Your blood will seek dominance. As it once did, long ago.”
I tried to stand. My legs worked again. Sort of.
“Am I supposed to say thank you?” I muttered.
“No,” she said. “You are supposed to endure.”
Then—
A flicker of digital light. Wait—what?
A translucent blue screen appeared in front of me.
> 📜 [SYSTEM UNLOCKED]
🐍 [MILF TAMING SYSTEM] 🐉
“Those who once nurtured you… now desire you.”
“…what.”
> 🎖 New Passive Acquired: [Serpent’s Allure]
Older women are irresistibly drawn to your aura. Resistance depends on individual willpower.
Warning: High emotional instability can result in obsessive attachment.
I blinked at it.
Then blinked again.
“…what the hell kind of system is this?”
Athenra raised an eyebrow. “I see the system has chosen your path.”
“No, no, no. I wanted cool magic. Maybe a dragon form. Something vaguely tragic but powerful. What is this MILF taming nonsense?!”
The goddess didn’t laugh. But I felt amusement roll off her like perfume from an unbothered queen. “You inherited her charm. It seems the world has… adjusted to compensate.”
“Compensate? For what? Rejection trauma and a lack of maternal affection?!”
“…Yes.”
This was absurd.
Beyond absurd.
And yet—another screen popped up.
> 🎯 Quest: “Face the Past, Tame the Present”
Objective: Encounter one of the four who betrayed you.
Bonus Objective: Charm their mother.
Reward: [Memory Link: Childhood Thread]
Failure: Emotional collapse. Loss of system integrity.
I stared at it.
“I’m not doing this,” I said flatly.
Athenra looked unconvinced. “You will.”
“Why?”
“Because the truth of your blood cannot be awakened without passing through their flames.”
“Was that a metaphor or are you just being cryptic for fun?”
“Both.”
I hated this. I hated how right it felt. I hated how my chest burned not from power but clarity. Like someone had lifted the lid on a pot of soup I didn’t know I’d been simmering in.
Suddenly, the goddess’s expression turned softer.
“You are her legacy,” she said quietly.
“Who’s ‘her’?”
She didn’t answer. Just placed a hand on my head. Warm. Heavy. Familiar in a way that hurt more than it comforted.
“Walk your path, Kira. The world you knew has already changed. You are no longer prey. But beware—those who once ruled you may now crave you.”
“I didn’t ask to be craved.”
“Few great men do.”
She turned. The temple pulsed with energy.
Then, like a dream ending too early, she vanished.
Leaving me there.
Changed. Cursed. Blessed. Confused.
And definitely concerned about this MILF Taming System that had just rooted itself into my soul.
I looked down at the serpent beast still curled loyally beside me.
“Well,” I muttered. “Looks like it’s just you and me, buddy.”
It hissed affectionately.
Somewhere, in the very depths of this ridiculous world, a destiny was beginning to unwind.
And apparently, it had big boobs.
Gods help me.
