The Initial

With her eyes stuck on him, not moving even a bit, she had her eyes pinned on the groom, but she is wearing white. She is the bride but she just rejected a future together. Everyone present in the room had presented a variety of expressions; a few shocked, another lots saying 'Are you out of your mind?'. Some just presenting poker face thinking 'oh not another drama to start.'

But in the middle of this chaos, the one who created was calm, Rinaya, the star and bride of the day was staring deep inside her grooms eyes. Kai, the groom was close enough to start with his tears. He was startled at what his long time girlfriend, then fiancé and now his ex-partner perhaps, he was coming to his senses. His world just rejected him, to be part of it. Kai was crumbling.

'If he is the same man I had spent my 4 years with, I am not marrying him.' Is what going inside Rinaya's head. And then Zadie walked up to the stage and took Rinaya out of the hall.

"You should be glad, if Kai wasn't there that day, I was going to push you." Zadie or Zad for the future reads, the bestie, was bringing up the worst memories of any wedding day, a bride can have. 

"Zadie! Please! It was so embarrassing. I know... I know I should do something about it now, but I have lived all my life till now like a wimp with it, but it is scary. I know it got a subtle and soothing colors but the slimy appearance just disgusts me." Rinaya or Rin here was frustrated on how life has been.

"Didn't we settled on goo last time?" Zad chimed.    

"Seriously?" The type of tone to uses in this parts actually had shaped many people out of expression of being irritated or annoyed. Because there are many annoying things going around these days, and purely sticking to the sides of logics it feels like everyone looks a little bit of more dumb. Just mentioning, not related to the story.

Nevertheless, stoic here is Rin, she had been through things not any normal person can experience on daily basis. If it means to be explained, she had a difficult teenage, not because someone was extra ordinary or special. She had one weird experience with the disappearance of things in front of her eyes, it wasn't like things mere disappeared because someone took it off but rather, it was there but not to her site. When she was 14, a day after her sickness was cured, which was a normal viral infection but she got of her bed as a patient of mysterious disease, for her thinking, at least. She opened up about it to her parents and her friend, who is Zad, but how can someone bring solution to something they cannot feel or see out of ordinary. 

She had her mental therapy sessions, because it can be psychological to an extent, how can something sitting right in front of you is not visible to you. What actually can someone do? Bring sand everywhere Rin goes, so she might at least know something is there? Zad was the only person Rin could share this too, also because Zad Sherlocked her way inside Rin's head, and solved the mystery of why she has started to hesitate and freeze in her position for few minutes. Rin owns a lots to Zad, she has been everywhere with Rin and mostly the kind of only friend left in Rin's dairy now. 

Imagine you are walking towards your classroom and door in the frame disappeared, you are quite sure nobody broke it down and if you rush towards it now, knowing it could closed as well, also many people are there in the hallway. Now, now! If you rush towards it, not knowing whether the door is opened or closed, will make a fool out of you. Just when every problem looks as tall as Eiffel tower, you bestie, slides or smash through the door and makes it look like a doorway to paradise. What a perfect friendship that is! But don't walk in just yet, you might actually walk into paradise, but classrooms are not. However, after this 5 years of hardship towards life of disappearance of random things , Rin started to see things that were not visible to her but they used to look the edit select in those graphic designing software ads, the only change is she saw everything in solid and complete in the hues of silver-colored slim. 

Those things that disappeared in the past would never left her get past to it, but this slimy thing was like a gateway to somewhere. It was there to swallow Rin and make her the disappeared. 

Why there is a need of explaining this for 3 paragraphs and maybe 250 words? It is because Zad and Rin are going to carry forward there conversation, here in a café. Rin ordered frappe and Zadie ordered Iced tea with no sugar. Zad is getting married soon and being the bridesmaid Rinaya, is here to discuss the wedding and the seating arrangement. Since only a married woman can solve this thin ice walk towards the aisle. By the way, Rin has been married for three and half years. 

"Well, technically I still snuff some illegal stuff of Kai, but he is good guy. At least we can say that his world will crumble without you." Zad coming back with the conversation. 

"I am happily married for years now, Zad. It's like every time I meet you, you take me back to our uni days." Rin was mentioning it because that's when she started dating Kai. 

"It's because he suddenly is always there when you go body freeze, seeing those goo. You know why I mentioned your wedding. You were having cold-feet, right before you walk on the stage for others at least. I was damn sure that it was more like frozen feet, dude, I'm telling you it's related to your anxiety." Zad was screaming at this point.

"Zad! Shh! Stop yelling, we are in a café, even though it's your fiancé's, but it's customer time. And I was not at fault. The step turned goo-y. Also, the dress! It was so heavy, you expect me to skip one step with that much amount of weight on me. I'm not going over again and again with that. It was embarrassing. Once Kai's foot was on the step, everything came back to normal. And it's power of love, okay? He should obviously sense if anything is troubling me."

"Also, tell me, I had super anxious moments before as well, you were there with me. Our college letters and all those moments I was anxious for you to win, in your fencing. Like yo- you won silver in the Olympics but you missed the gold by 1 points in the end." Rin has left her patience in that same altar where she was married.  Even Zad knows that woman leaves their wedding halls with peak level of sensitivity. 

"Woah, woah, woah! Brining in gold is crossing the line. That's not athlete's spirit, you have been to so many competitions with me, in the end it's mere luck that serves defeat." Zad was also over-sensitive these days, well, it's her wedding in 3 months. 

 "Oh, so to relieving your stress on me, by non-stop making jokes on me, is an athlete spirit." This one was loud enough because every customer present in the café was now curious of the sound coming from.

"I'm the bride, you know. I am not even aware of what I ate yesterday. I'm not in right mind; you want athlete spirit from me. That is the only thing keeping sane. You were a bride once too, not like you were in your right mind before walking on the stage anyways. And marrying Kai, made you dull and dumb." Zadie, incoming for you too.

Rin's shocked face was showing different signs, it was true where life was as calm as the waves on the shore, for a girl who was always sticks up to every adventure with her BFF, Rin's life was indeed a little dull. But it was an insult in the end adding up to the situation too, "DULL? Then why are you asking for my help? Why are you asking a dumb person to help you here? Aren't you dumber here then?" Uhm not sure it was the best incoming.

"What happened, Rin?"

"Hah? I'm right here, and you asking Rin but not your fiancé?" It was Zad's fiancé, after all this is his café.

"Okay! Darling, what happened?" These is the time which fall between those 6 months before wedding, every groom is scared for his life. 

"Sh- She keep coming after me for- for losing my gold." And then Zad burst into tears on her fiancé's shoulder. Sulky Rin, was all known with the stress Zad and Jaylen must have been right now. She and Kai had already been there. She's also aware, how much pressure Zad must be on Jay. But no! Back now means, her and Kai are dull and dumb. Seeing Jaylen begging with his face to not make his nights sleepless, Rin added, "She keep mentioned my wedding incident." *Oh shaks* was now written on Jaylen's face. 

It's basic, you don't mention a woman's mistake when she is 100% helping in everything in this situation. It was a showdown. In that Jaylen volunteered to stand back. 

"Hah? I only mentioned it twice." Zad countered.

"Oh, at least from last one hour. I had enough of you, keep mentioning it as a benchmark of worst anyone can have in wedding." Rin heard it about 26 times to be exact.

"Well, it was a mistake to you. You made me and your husband fools that day. Only I can tell you how much we have suffered because of you." Zad had enough too.

"Zad, you also know yourself, it is harder on me, than you two." 

"Oh, is it? Do we act like a wimp about it? Heh? Shouldn't it go like, I the greatest leader of historical fact finder clan, had recruited you in this journey, come with me? Hey! If the only solution is to walk in that goo shit. I would have done it the day I first saw it. I mean what's there to lose, I could die for such thrill." Rin knows she can do it too, but doing something for the first time to something unknown is fearful rather than thrilling. And Zad knows it too.

"..." In the battles of words only logic wins. 

Rin gets ashamed every time Zad mentions walking into the slimy thing. She knows how much of a daredevil, Zad and Kai are. They have been holding back to burst into the fireworks they were, only so that Rin is not left on her island alone. It doesn't mean she never had many people on the island, but the guilt to hold people back made her push so many off, out of her life. She even switched her personality from an extreme extrovert to an introvert, confined in her bedroom. So that when things disappeared, she at least knew what had been gone. Her island currently has 5 people on it, the pain to let them go is unbearable than letting go. Somehow, keeping these people is burdening too. And yet, can anyone confirm that once she lets the slim swallow her, she'll be free from her burdens. "I would rather die in guilt than regret after losing any of you." 

Zadie came back to her senses; she was a few sentences away from being pushed out of the island.
