The Zest

"Honey, you good?" 
"You kind of look down after Zad's wedding." Kai was sharing his concern before going to bed after them attending Zad's wedding as a set, but something has been heating up around in middle of the session. 

"No, I, I'm perfectly fine." Rin doesn't want to express herself by the thought of troubling Kai. What she doesn't understand is, being a couple, and making relationships around, you burden both sides, with the authority to have control on each part to hold higher any time.

That night after coming home from café, Rin did everything Zad asked her, to be honest she even swallowed her prideful ego, to stop hinder in the relation with her long lost sister, a soulmate from birth from different mothers. 

Kai came to Rin's side of the room, placed his hand on Rin's shoulder, trying to share his comfort in his form of touch, of course the one Rinaya loves. "C'mon! Your face is full of worries, tell me... Is this still about your argument on the goo thing?"

"Honey! Please, it's fine. I'm just picturing something I should not. Not to mention Zad, got all stupid too. It wasn't just me." Rin presented one of her worry. As for Kai knows how much Rin has suffered from these mysterious appearance and disappearance of things. The slim, and the gross feeling with it too. But he had the same mysterious vibes, as what Zad said, coming from Kai. Well, she still find him iffy so, 'should one trust or do not trust a woman intuition?' is also a big question for women too.

"Yeah, you are right. She just blabbed whatever she had in her head, planning a wedding, you do it for once but it's so hard to get things right. Also, honey stop with the those adventure thoughts Zad shared. Don't go around touching those goo. If it gross you out, what sparkling adventure it can give." Kai kissed Rin's shoulder but what he said actually shaped Rin's though in her head. You see, if you cannot express comfort at the best, you don't use the words as same as the past argument. The words adventure, is a taboo for Rin now. And you either grow old regretting every decisions, or do the worst and then regret. 

In the battle of choosing side, one should chose the side that at least give more pros than cons.

"Yeah! I understand."  Maybe not the best words Rin could say, and also not the best words Kai wanted to hear. "Honey! It'll be alright. One day Zad would be happy to just see how you have learnt to ignore that goo thing. Maybe someday it will disappear from your life as well, then there would be no question left for Zadie to even place on you even in her worst moments..." Kai's sound trailed off when he mentioned the disappearing of slim. Why would it disappear all of a sudden? Kai gave out the worst situation for someone who lived her teenage, her 20s with that thrill and confusion. She would have let go of those feelings as well. First time the slim appeared was, on the first date with Kai. She was so nervous and anxious, so Rin thought maybe the delusional appearance is there because of her anxiety. But things appeared on all particular emotions. No matter what occasion, not a single appearance of slim-y things made any sense. And it can go away too? The thought itself ate the parts of Rin's brain. 

"Won't you give me a good night kiss?" Seeing Kai's face right in front of hers, Rin came back from the thought which never once occurred to her. She went back to her teenage too, with the pondering. Her father was standing right above the slim on her graduation day. She thought the happiness was going to take away things that she treasure. But the slim only worked on her was also confirmed that day too.

Pushing away Kai's face, Rin said, "I'll get fresh and then we discuss this, Hmm?" and walked towards balcony. 

Two thoughts popped in Kai's head, well, 'There is no way Rin will go to the balcony to pee, will she?' and 'She has already washed her face', then he got changed to his comfy pajamas. Kai shrugged on his own thoughts and he realized maybe he needs to cheer up Rin, in different way. While, changing he remembered what day it was in his workout. It was leg day. Kai needs to show off his body, a little too much so that he could impress Rin and also spark some jealousy in her when someone hits on him. But his sole reason to workout was not only to be in shape. He wanted to let his hormones to stay in control of his own. Especially, last few days, Rin got a slight gain of bubbly shape, meaning the curves got some more of an addition, and Kai's loving it.

In the middle of all this, Rin went back to sleep. But the fact that overthinking has let Rin to this point that she couldn't let go of those slimy goo- and what Kai said. She couldn't sleep that night. To see Rin ready to sleep with her worried face, Kai had a run about of things in his head, which were not giving a beautiful turn. He too wasn't able to fall asleep. So to power up his sleep sensors, he took some of the sleeping pills. Kai has anxiety disorder, from who knows, or since he landed a place in Rin's life. But when he got the process of understanding what Rin has been dealing with, and overly hyped Zadie was pushing her to walk into that goo, actually got him wonder. Will she leave me?

"Corvin! Yeah man. How's everybody at home? Oh! Well it's past noon here. I thought I could talk to you just like always. Whaaat? No! No, I got no panic attack. Was just checking on you. Hmm! Why would I lie?" A friend in need  is a friend indeed. On a serious note, to dissolve your panic attacks you call or try remembering something comforting to get you calm. At least those to who had been through this use the same method. And so was Kai.

Ready to revive himself, Kai gave up the wrong approach of strange train thoughts, and tried chasing his sweet dreams on the same bed as his sweetheart. Giggling to the face of a fallen asleep woman, Kai drifted too to the wonderland. 

After few hours....

"Chirp, chirp!" Nah not the birds or an alarm but Rin woke up to a floor flooded with slim. Her sleepy eyes, couldn't catch up on what they were seeing, Rin eyes went wide open because of the shock. And the fact that the slim had rainbow colored, not the pride one, sparkling shine to it was icing to built a fear in Rin's head. "Kai! Wake up." And the failure to wake Kai up, made Rinaya to loose herself, 'Okay how do you deal with this?' 'We breath in and out. Breath in and o-' 

"Your destiny awaits here." Who said that?

Rin shook her head to see if there was any 3rd person present but no one, and the intensity of glitter was now reflecting the power to light. Rin learnt from movie last week, 'seize the day', which wasn't that motivational to the current scenario of hers, but with no thoughts and no brain. Rin took the leap of faith, the adventure she craved for years now. An adventure ruined her life.
