Chapter 3:

A New World

The Self Proclaimed "Famous" High School Detective & Her Assistant, Get's "Isekai"

"HARUNO, CALM DOWN!!" Emila exclaimed, trying to calm Haruno down while watching her begin to collect rocks from the riverbed and throw them into the water.

"I AM PERFECTLY CALM!" Haruno angrily responded, throwing multiple handfuls of rocks.

*Skill: Throwing Unlocked* A voice announced.

"HUH??!?" Haruno exclaimed, dropping all the remaining rocks onto the ground, "Who was that?", looking around for the source of the voice.

"What's wrong?" Emila questioned, "Are you feeling okay?", shaking Haruno by her shoulders.

"I unlocked a skill?" Haruno answered, "A throwing skill?"

"Isn't that a bit too fast?" Emila inquired, as they had just woken up in this world not long ago, "Are you sure about that?"

"Let me check, Status Open!" Haruno stated, with a transparent window screen appearing:

Name: Haruno Sayaka
Age: 18 years old
Race: Female Human (Japanese)
Level: 2
Unique Skill: Eyes of Seraphim

Skills: Appraisal, Item Box, Map, Universal Translator, Oracle, Throwing
Item Box: *Empty*

"See, it's right over here," Haruno commented, pointing at the throwing skills, before accidentally selecting her name. Suddenly, another pop-up window appears, revealing her body measurements. "B-B-B-CUP??!!? I'VE BEEN DOWNGRADED TO A B-CUP?!?!?", she yelled, falling to her knees.

"I-It'll be okay, Haruno," Emila quietly stated,  crouching down and began to pat Haruno's back, attempting to comfort her.

"It's okay for you to say! You've always bee-" Haruno stopped mid-sentence, as she felt something, a cold sensation next to her, and followed by a heavy blow to her back.

"Always been what, AGAIN??? Emilia questioned in an eerie voice,  with an empty smile. Emila had only recently crossed into the B territory just a few months prior.

"I-I'M S-S-SORRY!!" Haruno apologized, "PLEASE STOP HITTING ME!" with each blow increasing in intensity.

*Title: Queen of M Obtained* A voice announced, startling Emila, stopping her relentless strikes.

"I unlocked a title just now?" Emila said and opened up her status window.

"What is the title called?" Haruno asked while rubbing her painful lower back.

"Queen of M?" Emila answered, first tapping on her name to view her measurement to see if anything else had been changed by the Goddess.

Name: Emila Watson
Age: 18 years old
Race: Female Human (Half English / Half Japanese)
Level: 4
Titles: Queen of M
Unique Skill: Hohenheim's Wisdom, Shroud of Nightingale
Skills: Appraisal, Item Box, Map, Universal Translator, Oracle,
Item Box: *Empty*

"A-A-A-Cup?!?!?!" Emila screamed while staring at the window, "T-T-THAT'S NOT RIGHT?!!? I AM A B-B-CUP?!?! I HAD IT MEASURED AT THE MALL A FEW MONTH AGO?!?!?"

"If you were menstruating during the time of measurement, it may have affected your size," Haruno explained, standing back up and selecting the title name. "Let's see, Title: Queen of M, allows the title holder to assert their dominance against other M individuals, granting the commanded ability."

"*Pfffffftttttt* I-It's perfect for y-you," Haruno laughed, before falling to the ground again in tears.

'O-O-OH?!?!? Is that so?" Emila stated, walking over to a tree, tugging on a few thorny vines until they snapped, and then breaking a branch off. She began to wrap the vines around the branch, allowing some of the thorny ends to stick outward, making a makeshift flogger, and returned to Haruno.*SNAP*, the sound of a leather whip snapping back, rang throughout the forest as she swung the flogger downwards.

"W-WAIT!! C-CALM DOWN, EMILA!!" Haruno requested, as she scooted backward on the ground, holding both her hands up in the air. Emila continued her approach to Haruno, getting closer and closer,*SNAP*.........*AH~*

"Okay, we need to focus up here," Emila demanded, "Based on the appraisal, the water from the stream is considered safe to drink, but we still need to find food & shelter before the sun sets."

"Yeah, we also should get something for my butt, too," Haruno added, rubbing her sore butt after getting flogged. "I swear, I felt like I was close to awakening something deep within me".

"FOCUS!" Emila yelled, reaching down to her right side and placing her right hand on the broken flogger's handle.

"I AM!!" Haruno yelled back, "Regarding food, I believe it should be arriving any moment now," staring in front of the forest covering.

*THUMP* *THUMP* *CRUNCH* *HUFF* *HUFF* *CRUNCH* *SQUEAL*

A large boar with bloodied tusks jumped out of the forest and landed in front of them, followed by three wounded grey wolves.

*Appraisal* Haruno & Emila activated their skill in unison.

Monster: Bloody Boar, Lvl: 11 / E-Rank
Bloody Boar is a subspecies of a normal boar that contains a mana stone.

Bloody Boar dwells in dense forest, where they will feed on fruits, root vegetables & small animals.

Bloody Boars are extremely agile for their size and will attack with their long tusks, swinging them side by side in an attempt to throw their enemies onto the ground. After throwing them to the ground, the Bloody Boar will begin their charge and skewer their prey with tusks.

Monster: Daemon Wolves, Lvl: 15 / E-Rank
Daemon Wolves dwell in tall mountain regions and only leave their home to hunt for food in packs.

Daemon Wolves are agile monsters as they can ascend fifty-meter mountains in less than thirty seconds.

When Daemon Wolves attack, they will surround their prey and slowly wear them down with their sharp claws. Once their prey is exhausted, the pack leader will complete the kill by biting down on the prey's neck.

"Now then, which one do you want?" Haruno inquired, stretching out her body, raising her arm high into the air, and then cracking her knuckles.

"I'll take the boar," Emila answered, walking over to a tree and breaking a long branch. "Otherwise, we may not have any meat for tonight's dinner".

"I FIGURED AS MUCH!" Haruno yelled, taking off in a serious dash towards the group of distracted wolves. Haruno proceeded to send a straightforward punch with her right hand, making contact with one of the wolf's ribcages, breaking a few ribs, as it flew back into the forest, yelping.

*Skill: Charge Rush Unlocked*, *Skill: Marital Art Unlocked*, *Skill: Focus Punch Unlocked*

Haruno Sayaka was an expert in close combat fighting, mastering judo, mixed martial arts, jeet kune do, and muay thai due to her photographic memory.

Due to a car accident as a child, Haruno's brain underwent dramatic growth, which resulted in a photographic memory. Due to this ability, Haruno has amassed a personal library of knowledge she has obtained through reading, allowing her to adjust her fighting style based on the enemy's body structure.

"Hm.... I thought they would be closer to the Eastern Wolf based on their stance, but the ribcage placement felt much closer to the Eurasian Wolf," Haruno muttered after completing her assessment. "Alright then, let's continue with the other two," with the two other wolves now charging toward her.

"Hmmm...I wonder what I should make with the Boar meat?" Emila muttered, swiftly swinging the thin tree branch back and forth with her left hand, as a high screech could be heard with each swing. "If we had a pot, stew would sound good, but in this case, skewer boar will have to do".

The bloodied boar began its charge towards Emila, closing in,  a loud *Shriek*  followed by a *Thump* was heard, as the boar tipped over onto the ground.. The boar looked back toward Emila, who had only stepped a few inches to the right and was still standing up without any injuries. It proceeded to look down towards its legs, noticing that both its hard tendons on the right side were slashed and bleeding.

"Hm...I noticed it earlier when I flogged Haruno, but this branch is oddly flexible and sturdy." Emila stated, bending it slightly, and finished assessing the branch integrity. "This should be enough to finish you off," turning around to walk towards the bloodied boar.

Emila was a nationally acknowledged master swordsman in kendo, iaido, kenjutsu, kyudo, and fencing. At one point in her life, she was scouted to represent Japan in the Olympics for fencing, but turned it down because she hated the spotlight.

Emila's strength lies with her vision, as she can perceive things in slow motion and in extreme detail when she focuses on them. Combined with her medical knowledge of humans & animals, she can determine her enemy's actions based on their muscle contraction and counterattack with ease.

As Emila began to approach, the bloodied boar began to toss and turn in fear, trying to stand back up, but couldn't support its weight with slashed tendons. The bloodied boar blinked its eyes, losing sight of Emila, and its eyes started to roll backward as Emila reappeared in front of it. Emila had thrust the sharp point of the branch through the boar's left eye socket and directly angled into its brain, killing it instantly with a frontal lobotomy.

*Skill: Sword Art Unlocked* ,*Skill: Flash Step Unlocked*, *Skill: Single Thrust Unlocked*

*Yelp* A wolf flew past Emila, colliding with a tree before falling onto the ground, with red blood oozing out of its mouth.

"That was boring," Haruno exclaimed as she dragged two bloodied wolf corpses before releasing them onto the ground.

*Title: Wolf Slayer Obtained*

"UGHHH, can't you kill them with some sort of cleanliness?" Emila inquired, noticing how badly disfigured the wolf corpses were. "You may not have gotten hurt, but animal blood can still transmit disease if you leave it on your skin for too long. Go wash up in the stream!" she instructed, noticing how bloodied Haruno's hands were, and pointed towards the river.

"FINE!" Haruno responded, stomping on the ground and walking away.

"OKAY! Let's disassemble them and salvage the fresh meat while the sun is still up!" Emilia stated, crouching down and attempting to locate a sharp, flat rock to use as a knife.

After an hour had passed by, Emila had completed dismantling the boar and the three wolves, storing most of the fur and meat into her item box. She began to look around and notice Haruno was nowhere to be seen.

"HARUNO!!!" Emila yelled, with her voice echoing into the forest, with no response. Emila began to become anxious and started to run toward the direction where Haruno had gone to clean up. She made a sharp right turn around the riverbank, colliding with something, and fell backward onto the ground.

"OW!!!" Haruno yelled, dropping a pile of clothes and cooking tools onto the riverbed. "Walk much?" she commented, rubbing her already sore butt.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!!" Emila yelled, "Where did you get all this stuff?" noticing the piles of clean clothes and cooking tools. "Don't tell me you stole it??!?"

"OF COURSE NOT!!" Haruno answered. "I was walking down the stream to find a place to clean up and noticed a covered carriage in the woods. As I approached it, I noticed that it was heavily broken down with moss growing out of it, but it took me a while to sort through the abandoned wooden boxes full of stuff."

"Why didn't you store it inside your item box?" Emila inquired. "Don't tell me it's full of stuff, too?"

"Oh yeah! I forgot that was an option too, wasn't it?" Haruno stated, standing back up, "In that case, I can get the other junk I left behind," taking off before being grabbed back down onto the ground by her shirt collar.

"How about we clean this up and get ready for the night first?" Emila suggested,  giving Haruno an ominous stare.

"Yes, Ma'am," Haruno replied, remembering the experience with that face, which indicated that Emilia was not in the mood to play around this time.

The two picked up the clothes and cooking tools and headed back to their makeshift campsite.

*Crackle* *Crackle*
, the sounds of firewood crackling continued as Haruno adjusted the wood with a long stick, looking up towards the clear starry night sky.

The two crescent moons arrived at their peak, with their white and light green moon shining bright down, and the sounds of wolves howling could be heard in the distance.

"We truly are in another world, aren't we?" Emila stated, sitting down next to Haruno, after washing the dishes in the river. `

"Yup, I can't recognize any of the star placement or make out any of the constellations I know," Haruno answered quietly before, lying backward onto a makeshift bed made with clothes they didn't need. "I'm sorry, Emila. I didn't mean to get you killed," as she began to sob with tears falling down the side of her face.

"Knock it off, Haruno! I've made my peace with it, and the way I looked at it, we saved a lot of people, too." Emila reassured Haruno and began to lie next to her. She proceeded to hold Haruno tightly in her chest, while she continued to cry her eyes out.. "Let's focus on the future for now," she commented, before the two drifted asleep.

 *Map Update*

"Alrighty then, where to?" Haruno questioned, taking out a thin piece of parchment paper, to reveal a map.

"It looks like we are here, inside the Forest of Telia," Haruno pointed to her open map skill window, with a red marker indicating where they were. "It looks like if we climb up the river bed here and exit here, we can reach a path that will take us to the Kingdom of Teralisa."

"That looks about right," Emila agreed, "It also looks like a long trek, so let's dress appropriately then."

Haruno and Emila began to change out of their ruined high school uniforms and into their new clothes.

Haruno's new outfit consisted of a fingerless glove, a sleeveless grey button-down shirt, a tanned leather belt, a navy blue skirt, black thigh socks, and long brown leather boots.

Emila's new outfit consisted of a long, light turquoise cloak, a light grey button-down shirt, a white skirt, a tanned leather belt, black thigh socks, and brown leather boots.

"Let's Go!" Haruno yelled, walking forward as excitement built within her, with Emila following next to her.
