Chapter 2:
The Self Proclaimed "Famous" High School Detective & Her Assistant, Get's "Isekai"
"Where is my pen?!?!?" A soft voice was heard, followed by the sound of books and clothes falling onto the ground. "I know I have one here, or maybe it was over there?" *CRASH* Another pile of books fell onto the ground.
"SHUT UP!!!" Haruno yelled as she rose from the floor, looking around the pinkish room.
"W-Where am I? Didn't we die?" she wondered.
"D-Did you have a bad dream, Haruno? " Emilia questioned as she began to rub her eyes, rising from the floor next to her. "D-Did you wet your bed again?"
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A BED WETTER?!?!?" Haruno yelled as she turned around and gave Emila a head noogie.
"S-STOP IT! YOU ARE GOING TO MESS UP MY HAIR!!" Emilia exclaimed as she grabbed Haruno's right breast, squeezing it tightly as her nails sank in.
"OW, OW, OW, YOU ARE GOING TO TEAR IT OFF!!" Haruno exclaimed as she quickly let go of Emila's head.
After a brief moment of truce as they recovered from their pain, they began to look around the pink room.
There was a small pink messy study desk with drawers hanging out of their slots, a pile of clothes on a floating pink egg pod chair, a bookshelf with books scattered onto the ground, a messy pink bed, along with empty bags of chips and empty cola bottles scattered everywhere.
"T-This is just awful! " Haruno stated, as they took in the sight, "It reminds me of your old room."
"IT DOES NOT!" Emila stated, while taking a step forward, crushing a potato chip with her bare foot, "Maybe."
"I-I'M A BIG FAN OF YOURS!!" a little girl exclaimed as she handed an autograph board with a pink marker to Emila.
"Huh?" Emila looked down at the very eager little girl. "Who are you? Are you lost?"
The little girl was a four-foot-seven-inch girl with golden, bright eyes, long purple and greyish hair with pinkish ends that reached down to her back. She wore a one-piece white dress with colorful flowers with a golden accent around the collar area, and was barefoot.
Emila crouches down, looking directly at the little girl's golden eyes. "Where are your parents?" she inquired while taking the autograph board & pink marker away.
"Parents? I don't have any?" the little girl answered in a confused tone. "What are parents?"
"H-Hey!" Haruno whispered to Emila as she had crouched down next to her. "Did we already step on a landmine with that question?"
"W-What's your name?" Emila asked, trying to change the topic, while pushing Haruno's face away with her right hand, giving her the autograph board & pink marker.
"My name is Merisa, the Goddess Merisa." The little girl introduced herself as she summoned her divine lance to symbolize her divine authority.
"Eh?" Emila & Haruno quickly stated as they both fell backward onto the dirty floor.
"W-Wait, are you the Goddess of Earth?" Haruno inquired, "I've never thought I would get to meet a God, especially from Earth!"
"Well........temporary supervisor, as the previous God is currently under punishment due to a certain circumstance," Merisa answered while scratching her right cheek. "AGAIN, I'M A BIG FAN OF YOURS! PLEASE SIGN IT TOO," as she grabbed Haruno's hands with her tiny hands.
After a few minutes of signing the autograph board, the Goddess began to jump up and down on her pink, messy bed, "I GOT A AUTOGRAPH, I GOT A AUTOGRAPH," she exclaimed.
"What do you think?" Haruno whispered in Emila's ear. "You think she is a real Goddess?"
"I would say so?" Emia answered back, "I mean, we should be dead now, and you aren't in pain anymore," as she lifted Haruno's bloodied shirt, seeing that the bullet wound had disappeared.
"Ahhhhhh, pervert~" Haruno jokingly exclaimed, before also wondering what the deal here was.
"Now then, I'm sure you are wondering why you are here," Mersia stated, as she stepped off her bed and placed the autograph board into her storage skill. "As you can tell, I'm a big fan of yours: the way you conduct your investigation, the logic that you use to back it, and the self-sacrifice you both take when trying to reach the truth."
"G-Go on!" Haruno began to blush from all the compliments while Emila looked away, flustered.
"So with that, I'm going to allow you both to continue your crime-solving adventure, but this is another world I manage, Galton!" Merisa declared as she pointed at the two of them, sitting down on the ground."Galton is your standard medieval fantasy world with sword & magic, but without your Hero & Demon Lord conflict. What I want from the two of you is to continue to solve crimes in this world like you did in the other!
"What do you mean by that?" Emila inquired, with Haruno nodding along.
"Well, this world is very lackluster when it comes to crimes," Merisa stated as she waved her left hand to bring her floating egg pod chair over, spinning it to shake off the piles of clothes before sitting down. "The thought process of the residents of this world is too simple, so when they can't solve a crime, they immediately declare it a curse or the act of God," as she covered her eyes with her right hand.
"Why do people think that when things go bad, God is always the one doing it? We are not that bored to torture one single person when we have multiple worlds to manage." Mersia commented as she began to spin in her chair before stopping, " So I want you both to go into this world and solve crimes like how you did in the other world," as she pointed.
"EHHHH......that sounds like a pain in the butt," Haruno replied, unmotivated before falling backwards on the ground, lying down on the chip-covered floor. "Solving crimes in the medieval period is impossible, especially since we can't even follow the same investigation process of reviewing footage, collecting DNA samples, following up with witnesses who are willing to talk, etc," as nobody will ever be willing to answer questions from a girl in the medieval time period.
"That's true! We don't have computers, forensic samples, cameras, or even a way to cross-reference our findings with historical records," Emila added. "This was also the main reason why crime was so rampant in medieval times in our world."
Merisa quickly summoned a pink keyboard and began typing into it to review Earth's medieval history, "T-That's true," she muttered after seeing the records from the Dark Ages, and the different witch hunts & trials that occurred without anything solid backing, only accusations from the public.
"BUT, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE HERE! Merisa exclaimed, "I will grant you unique skills on top of some basic skills to help your investigation."
"I see," Haruno replied, with a lackluster tone of voice as she curled up into a ball and pretended to sleep. "You really should clean up this room by the way," she said to the Goddess, as the amount of chips on the ground was just plain unsanitary for anyone to live in, especially a Goddess.
"Uuuggh...It's true what they say, Never meet your heroes," Merisa stated as she looked at Haruno, who was slowly turning into slime. "I have a person who comes and helps me clean once in a while, so leave it alone! He just didn't show up this time around!" she exclaimed before going back to typing on her keyboard.
"W-Well, we did say we wanted to go on another adventure, so let's try to look for the best outcome," Emila stated while shaking Haruno to wake up. "How often can we solve crimes in a time similar to our idol, Sherlock Holmes ?"
"I guess," Haruno answered, trying to be hopeful, but couldn't find the motivation.
"Okay, Goddess Mersia, what kinds of skills are we looking at?" Emila inquired as she gave up trying to cheer Haruno up.
"First: I am going to reincarnate you both with the same body you have right now, as you both died very young, and there is no point in modifying anything." Merisa explained, "Except for Haruno, though," she whispered with Haruno & Emila not catching it.
"Second: I'm going to give both the same few basic skills," Mersia stated as she continued to type into her keyboard, with a transparent window appearing in both Haruno & Emilia's eyes.
Appraisal: Used on items or monsters, this skill will provide you with a detailed description, excluding humans or other races, where limited information will be provided instead.
Item Box: Limited storage, size is around 20 square feet, with item degradation at 1/100th of normal speed.
Map: Retain mapping of the path & location the user has traveled, and it can be updated with already discovered maps.
Universal Translator: Allows users to speak and write in the common languages in the world, excluding ancient languages and writing.
Oracle: Ability to speak with her at any of her churches if needed ( Emphasis on NEEDED.)
"Now I am also going to be providing each of you with unique skills & equipment to match your lifestyle when you were investigating in the other world." Mersia follow-up:
"Haruno:
Eyes of Seraphim: Allows the wielder to see long distances with extreme clarity and immense magnification when focused upon. Weilder cannot be affected by debuffs or curses that involve loss of sight.
"Emila:
Hohenheim's Wisdom: The wielder will be able to perform complex analysis of objects, and allow for reproduction once production requirements are met. It cannot be used to create life.
Shroud of Nightingale: wielder can diagnose illness and perform first aid triage, including limb attachments. Any treatment performed with this skill will prevent any future symptoms of sepsis."
"EHHHHHH!!!, Haruno complained, "Why does Emila get more skills than I do?".
"Because she isn't complaining like you and acts properly in the presence of a Goddess," Merisa stated as she looked at Haruno, who was still lying down in filth.
"Fine!" Haruno stated, as she began to pout and sulk, even though she was happy for Emila.
"Okay, let's wrap it up here." Merisa stated as she unsummoned her keyboard, " I've also given you a few items that will be in your item box, so take a look at them when you get a chance."
Haruno & Emila's bodies began to glow with a bluish hue.
"Thanks for saving us!" Haruno stated as she stood up and gave a quick bow, with Emila doing the same.
"By the Haruno, I modified your body just a little bit," Merisa stated as she gave a pinching gesture with her right hand, giving a small smirk, as the light began to envelop them.
*Whooooosh* A gentle breeze blew by, and the sun beamed brightly into Emila's face as she lay underneath a tree with grass acting like a cushion.
Emila began to wake up and look around for Haruno, but couldn't find her. She suddenly began to hear sounds of water splashing and began to walk towards it. As she walked closer, she saw Haruno was slumped on his knees and looking up towards the sun.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Emila asked as she had never seen her like this before.
"I-IT'S GONE!!!" Haruno exclaimed as she began to cry.
"What's gone?" Emila inquired further, as Haruno didn't look any different or was missing any clothing.
"MY FUCKING DOUBLE D BREAST!!" Haruno exclaimed loudly as she grabbed her chest with both her hands, "I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL THAT GODDESS THE NEXT TIME I SEE HER!!!" as birds began to fly away in a panic.
