Chapter 513:

Scam sister

En Passant Grandmaster

Daria hummed as she exited the house and headed for the local convenience store down the block. "It really is nice having a place like this tucked in here. So close, and Mimoko's spot is a little ways up the river," she thought as she entered.

"O-ne-gai, I need some food for my starving children," a young red-haired woman pleaded with the clerk.

"We can't just give discounts on our most expensive foods. Besides, we have plenty of rice-"

"They're allergic to rice."

"But the meals you want to purchase-"

"We just eat the meat and not the rice. With rice balls, the meat is IN the rice. Ah! How about just the chicken you sell, but wait, you're all out! This is why we need this stuff."

Disgust, but also dread formed on Daria's face as she recognized the woman. She attempted to flee, but the woman took notice of her.

"That's my sister! She'll pay for everything!" the woman shouted as she grabbed the food and charged for the exit.

"No, I have no siblings," Daria glared as she attempted to trip the woman.

However, the woman nimbly leapt over her and made her escape.

"Miss Inoue, that woman did kinda look like you, before you went n' dyed n' cut your hair. You really not know her?" the clerk asked.

Daria let out a heavy sigh as she placed her face in her hand. "Call the police and I'll explain it clearly to them."

"Well then better explain, cuz you got a hell of an explainin' to do," the woman's voice barked as she strolled back in with badge in hand.

"What's the meaning of this!? Cops can't just lie to get discounted food, or shoplift for that matter!" the clerk fumed.

"Tch, tch, tch, think I'd be fooled?" the woman smirked as she procured the meal she had stolen and slammed it on the counter, opening the lid and grabbing a chunk of rice out of it."

"THIS IS INSANITY! YOU CAN'T-"

"I can, cuz shit like this is hidden in it," the woman glared as she procured a silver bag that appeared to have been hidden within the rice.

"Wh- What is-"

"Drugs. Illegal drugs. You have any idea how long this'll get you locked up for?"

The clerk went pale. "I have no idea! That wasn't there when we made-"

"Then let's check," the woman glared as she grabbed another of the tonkatsu meals and ripped the lid off, shoving her hand quickly into the rice.

And to the clerk's horror, there was another silver bag.

"Your busted. 50- Life sentence. Maybe a death penalty after a year or two if you're lucky."

"NO! I have no idea what's going on!"

"Hmm... Then we're gonna have to make ourselves a little deal. See I'm not the most lawful cop, but I got a heart. You probably did this for good reasons, so... How about you give me all the merch with drugs in it and the cash in the register along with your credit cards, and no jailtime for you."

"But that's-"

"4 seconds or I cuff ya and drag you down."

The clerk trembled and accepted the deal.

"That's the spirit, now no word of this to a soul," the woman smirked as she practically looted the whole store and the clerk before leaving.

Daria still stood there in disgust, but quickly felt herself being dragged outside before a large luxury car.

"Look at you. Dying your hair blonde n' cutting it short. Really been living a rotten life, Dari," the woman sneered.

"No, it's been nice. Now unhand me."

"Nope, see I gotta look out for ya and make sure you don't get arrested, or try n' spoil my business."

"I'm disowned both ways."

"I ain't ma. And you can't erase blood."

This woman was Daria's older sister, Oma Inashiki. She was a scam artist, and a freakishly efficient one at that. She had her hand in every type of scamming scheme out there from in-person scamming, phishing, and phone calls. Worse, she had intellect, and had never been caught.

"Out of the whole family, you're the one that disgusts me the most. I will never acknowledge you as my family, and I'm surprised you're even still part of it," Daria glared as she warped away, leaving Oma shocked.

"Huh!? Wh- Where'd she... There. To think you got so many perks just by moving some pieces around on a board. But that's how you get easy money, by doing easy shit," Oma thought as a malicious smirk spread across her face.
