Chapter 21:

Chapter 20: Thalorian

The Edge of Balance

What should I do? I met someone who could have information about my son, and I just drove him away.

“Hey, you going to order something or what?” asked the man with the rag behind the counter.

“What? Uh just give me something with alcohol in it,” said Thalorian.

“Okay,” said the man behind the counter, rolling his eyes.

A few minutes later as Thalorian sat contemplating what to do with the ‘Yoru’ ‘York’ situation a cold drink slid toward him.

“Thank you,” said Thalorian, taking a sip then immediately spitting it out, “you call this alcohol?! This doesn’t have enough booze to make a man drunk!”

“You, criticizing my beer?” asked the man behind the counter.

“Of course I am, this stuff sucks!” yelled Thalorian. Murmurs arose throughout the crowd of people in the place known as ‘The Drunken Peacock’.

“You know what I think, I think that guy should just get out!” yelled someone sitting at a table.

“Yeah he should just leave!” yelled another. People are so sensitive now. Back in Hirenlia if you insulted the tavern owner he’d just laugh it off.

Thalorian sighed, “If you insist,” he began to leave the bar, but just as his hand reached the metal doorknob the wooden roof splintered and shook as a large boy with hair all over his body tore into it.

“Ha ha ha, Bigteeth will destroy you puny people!” he yelled.

Bigteeth! Like the orc I killed in Gorn! How is he back, and looking like a fifteen year old kid, weird.

Bigteeth surveyed the crowd and saw Thalorian, “You! You’re the one who killed me all those years ago, but now I am back and ready to kill you!” Bigteeth yelled. Bigteeth jumped down into the center of the bar and started ripping apart tables and chairs, people started fighting back but were swiftly repelled, by Bigteeth. Thalorian dashed back and opened his duffle bag. He pulled out his sword, mask and cloak. After swiftly putting them on he dashed forward and cut into Bigteeth’s thick skin.

“Ha! It seems that over the years you have gained strength, Dragon!” laughed Bigteeth, parrying with a punch to the face.

I can’t burn this place down, “Voltis Elia!” yelled Thalorian, blasting lightning from the palm of his hand.

“Ha! Yes! Yes! Your power has grown much in your time away!” laughed Bigteeth again.

“Maybe you have just grown weaker!” retorted Thalorian.

“Ha! The nightmare does not forgive weaklings! I have grown stronger!” yelled Bigteeth, punching the ground and causing splinters to shoot out everywhere.

“Nor does the Magic Realm! Do you know how hard it is to go out and kill a magic boar just for dinner!” replied Thalorian, cutting into Bigteeth’s chest.

“Ha! I have never heard of such a beast!” laughed Bigteeth, trying to pummel Thalorian, who swiftly dodged.

“Maybe because you’re so dumb!” retorted Thalorian, slicing at Bigteeth’s legs.

“Ha! Trust me, Dragon, I know more than you think about boar!” replied Bigteeth, chomping into Thalorians shoulder. Dammit! He got me!

“Luma!” chanted Thalorian, firing water out of his shoulder.

“Ha! Channeling your mana to the shoulder to counter my bite, quite smart!” laughed Bigteeth, grabbing a table and bashing it over Thalorian.

“Aress!” yelled Thalorian, blasting the table to bits, and thrusting his sword up to stab Bigteeth’s face. Blood welled from the wound on his face. Bigteeth’s demeanor changed, he went from a smiling combatant to the face of an angry bear.

“Graaah!” roared Bigteeth, smashing his hands against the ground. The force of the blow knocked Thalorian over. His eyes faltered as he drifted into unconsciousness. No! I can’t fall now! I won once, I’ll win again! The door to the bar busted open and several men with bent metal pipes in their hands stormed in.

“Hands up!” yelled the one in the front. Who are these guys?

Thalorian ignored them and continued battling Bigteeth, swords and fists clashed as they dodged, parried, and countered each other's blows.

“I said hands up!” the one in the front yelled again. Seriously, who are these guys?

Thalorian, slid under Bigteeth and cut into his back, Bigteeth roared in pain. He spun around and punched Thalorian in the face.

“I warned you!” the one in the front yelled once more. A boom sounded as something struck Thalorian in the back of the head. What was that? Thalorian reached back and ripped the small metal cap from his head.

He slowly turned his head around, “Crya Elia!” whispered Thalorian, icy tendrils shot out of Thalorians palm and struck the men, freezing them, “Aress.” A blast of force struck them and shattered the ice. Bigteeth grabbed shards of glass from the ground and stabbed them into Thalorian’s back. Ugh, dammit I can’t beat him! At least not now.

“Heven Welyeh Sha Koon!” said Thalorian. His body warped and popped.

When he opened his eyes he was bleeding in his home in the Magic Realm.

“Limiria I’m home,” coughed Thalorian. He tripped through his home, healing himself when he had the chance. When he stumbled into the kitchen he saw a note on the counter. Dear: Thalorian, I’ve left to find him. Exerex came by last night and told me that he goes to a place called Hawkwing Secondary School. I’m going there to find him. I will be back soon. Love: Limiria.
