Society evolved from magic.
Magic became part of everyone's life, as well as the central point of progress that would lead everyone to the next step.
Miracles became possible, at least, for those who chose to dedicate themselves to it.From the healing of limbs, to even the reversal of the state of things, technology and magic eventually became one.
But there was something in the midst of all this that never found its function in society.Black magic.
The ability to control shadows, curse, corrupt and make deals with evil beings.A magic that did not exist for progress, only regression, of humanity that grew with such a gift.
Human beings who were born with it, no matter how good their lives were, would eventually reach the point where they would regress to primitive instincts, of power, an insatiable will to kill.
They are time bombs that will explode at any moment.
Thanks to this, prejudice against those who have this magic grew, no longer caring if the users reached the phase where evil dominates them, they are excluded from society, some, even abandoned by their parents as children.
In this world that so yearns for regression, there is no room for such darkness that condemns and curses them.
And what most exist are examples of those who live on the margins of society, in that field in the center of a technological city, which was intertwined with magic, a boy leaning against a slide, with bruises on his face that insisted on remaining neutral.Around him, five young men, some laughing, others looking at him with disgust and kicking him to make him react.
"Hey, idiot wizard! Stay away from the children, my little brother always comes here, having a black wizard walking near the playground, that's a problem!"He poured out his discontent on the boy who said nothing.
It was ironic what will be described now, but a black wizard wearing black was what most often happened to those who used this magic, as if they were attracted to this color. The boy with black hair, a nose piercing, fair skin, gray eyes, a black hooded shirt, followed by dark denim shorts and shoes of the same color, was the one being assaulted.
Blood ran from his nose and all he did was stare bored at how brightly the sun shone that afternoon, not even listening to the revolt around him.
"Did you hear? Look at us, damn you!"
"Sorry, what were you talking about?"
"Oh, you...!" - the biggest one got even angrier, as if he were lynching a criminal who stole something from someone close, but just a boy he had never seen in his life - "You have to learn your place, keep showing your black aura around, now suffer the consequences!"
"I get it, I get it... It's the same old story of hating black wizards and all that, I even let them hit my nose.
Look, this is getting a bit boring, I need to go soon, I'm late for class, it's my first day today and everything" - he justified, still sitting on the ground, waving his hands.
"You little brat, you're not going anywhere!" - another said, outraged.
And soon others joined him in the talking, and the five advanced with their magic towards the single black wizard. And he... sighed deeply, as if afflicted by a profound frustration, which left him profoundly tired.
"I'll have to change my shortcut tomorrow."Seconds later, the five young men were on the ground, tied by black vines that emerged from the sand, unconscious.
The locals stared at it horrified, but by this point, whoever had done it was no longer there.
Walking on the commercial streets of the city, he saw several stalls selling potions, magical instruments such as: a cuckoo with a magical spirit, speaks as if it were human;a flute that plays music depending on the magic it activates when held;
a learning potion, for better studying, although there are rumors that it's a scam, magics that directly affect the brain are too complex to be sold at a stall.
Furthermore, the path was peaceful, as people were too busy selling and buying to notice that a black wizard had passed by them.
And soon he was where he wanted to be, at the NEO magic academy, whose doors were open.
"I wonder if the ceremony is over yet? Damn... I still have to get my uniform."
He commented, as he finally passed through the gate.
And as he entered the place, walking along the long path of gleaming stones that divided the entrance of the academy, a long lively garden, the boy felt something hit his back, it didn't seem like a stone but it was as hard as one, he was propelled forward but didn't fall, because what hit him wasn't as strong as him.
Looking back, he saw a girl with short white hair, rubbing her head while sitting on the ground.
"Ow, ow... My little head!" - with her eyes closed, she almost teared up from pain.
"...." - normally he would say something like "are you okay?"
But honestly, his patience wasn't at its best, he just wanted to reach his destination, so he just stood there to see if she would get up.At first glance he could see that she was wearing a scarf, a pink long-sleeved shirt and a very long blue denim skirt, reaching below her knee.
The boy considered her unfashionable.
"S-sorry, I came running with my eyes closed, I didn't see you in front of me, I'm late!"
"Who runs with their eyes closed?" - he questioned.
"Ah! Y-you're right, haha!" - she scratched her cheek, and began to get up. - "Sorry, I should have noticed you in front of me, my name is Ana Midori, I'm from the south!"
"The kingdom of hicks?" - he asked, somewhat confused.
"We're not hicks!" - she said, with superficial revolt - "My house even has two floors! Very modern, just like those in the capital!"
"Well, I don't really care... I'm going" - he was already turning to leave.
"Aren't you even going to say your name?! Oh, whatever!" - she then sped off.
She was so fast that she overtook the other and made him spin until he fell to the ground.
"Today is not my lucky day, honestly" he turned his gaze to the entrance, where she had fallen.
"Hm...?"
And he noticed something on the ground. Upon closer inspection, he saw it was a card."Looks like it's hers... I'd better give it back, in case I see her again."
* he kept it with him, he didn't want to have to run to find her, he wasn't that engaged in doing a good deed, maybe that was his dilemma as a black wizard, which would eventually lead him to the shadows, in the end he soon left.
The opening ceremony took place, and soon the students had been introduced to their rooms, which, due to NEO's renown, you could have your own room, or opt for a single one, all specified in the enrollment form.
But there was no time to explore the room, he was soon informed that he would be introduced to his class shortly, on the same day as the ceremony.
He found this strange, but NEO's policy is that there is only one room for black wizards, while other magics are mixed together in the same place.
He sighed deeply, tired, but forced himself to go, as he thought the uniforms would be delivered at some point.
As he walked through the corridors, he saw students exploring the academy and talking happily about their expectations, he noticed that some looked at him strangely. It was obvious, he had a bad habit of letting the black aura of his magic leak out, scaring everyone around him.
It didn't take long, as he finally arrived at the room informed in the E-mail (Etherius mail) he received on his cell phone.
He immediately noticed that besides him, there were 6 other people in the room, all with the same pattern: black hair and black clothes, distant, and uninterested. They were indeed black wizards. The boy sat in the front.
The room had a staircase leading to higher seats, like a college model, while in the front there was the stage where the teacher taught classes, with the whiteboard in the background, and some equipment in the corner of the room that would serve for some experiment in class.
Silence hung over the place, it was normal for people of the same magic to talk to each other, but it was not the case for black wizards, they had no interest in each other, they only distanced themselves, if one day they would cause evil, it would be to other people, not to themselves.
Eventually, someone entered the room, a 30-year-old man, with red hair, smoking a cigarette, and wearing a white shirt with a black vest, showing off his large arms.
"I'm your teacher, by NEO's policies, to bring the God wizard into reality, they even allow useless black wizards to try for a chance at it.So, I'll be responsible for the misfortunes that might occur in this world, my name is Charles, let's get along." - he introduced himself, sloppy and uninterested, going to the stage, and sitting in the teacher's chair, resting his hands on the table.
No one said anything, and perhaps they weren't that interested in the teacher, based on the thoughts of black wizards, perhaps they were already thinking of killing that man who disdained them.
"We won't have class, we're just going to hand out uniforms and do a brief presentation, you function differently because as you can see: there are only seven black wizards in this class, it must be the lowest number in years."
"I have a question" - said another boy, with hair in front of his right eye - "but do black wizards from higher years still study here?""No, they all gave up, they couldn't stand the pressure of their colleagues' judgment, and left" - he said, as if it were nothing - "some even killed themselves."
"H-how horrible!" - a girl with long wavy hair commented, putting her hands on her cheeks.
"And you didn't punish the culprits?""No, if you're in NEO, it's to become God, what kind of weak God gives up living because of words people say?" - the teacher said, ignorantly. - "You're not supposed to be here in the first place."
There was a murmur, but it soon ceased, with the teacher standing up from the chair."We will follow an order of presentation, you who are in front, come first."
The unlucky one was the one whose trajectory full of obstacles had been followed.
"Can I refuse?""You will be expelled if you don't come.""Tsk!"
Directing this to a black wizard, he was probably serious about the expulsion.Earlier, he had encountered the girl who bumped into him, and he hadn't noticed how she spoke to him as if he were normal, perhaps he regretted a little not introducing himself.
But the truth is that even if he had been treated normally, the moment she heard his name, things would probably change, they always do.
For it wasn't just the aura that marked him in darkness, there was always more."Ahem..." - on the small stage, he faced the other six, who observed him with deep, empty gazes, without expectations of his existence, something too common that didn't even scare him.
But if he were to study with them there for a long time, at least it was time to try to connect with people like him, since people like that girl would be impossible.
It was time to give his best at NEO so that a black magic God wizard could exist, an impressive and unique feat that he felt the desire to achieve.A new life for the black wizard.
"...My name is Lúcifer, let's get along."The room was silent for a few seconds. Until the teacher dropped his cigarette from his mouth, so surprised.
"The name of the... Ancient demon king?”
