Everyone stared at the boy, with fear and a little disgust and confusion, even though there were only black wizards there, even they were startled by the boy's name.
"My God, are you serious?" the teacher regained his composure - "Impressive, your parents should go to jail."
"It's just a name, it doesn't make a difference, no one expects anything beyond black wizards, right?"
"He was practically cursed, if it was already bad... it got worse." He lit another cigarette. "Welcome to your own hell, Lúcifer."
The boy felt nervous about the irony of that teacher.
If there was evil in his heart, it now manifested in his thoughts.
"This guy has no filter with words, how irritating, he's in the middle of black wizards, and he's not afraid of dying?"
"Alright, you can go back to your seat and following the order of distance from front to back, starting from the left, the next one can come."
Lúcifer returned to his desk, and felt the gazes upon him, following him.
The next person who descended the stairs of the room and went to the stage was a girl with long, wavy black hair.
Lúcifer remembered she was the one who spoke stammering, she wasn't threatening, he even considered her too cute for a black wizard, for not being so tall.
"M-my name isn't as incredible as a demon king's, my name is Flora! Please, I ask you not to kill me, I swear on my life that I will bring something good out of black magic, to save this world, when I finally become a goddess!" She put her hand on her chest, determined. "T-trust me!!!"
A silence reigned for a few seconds, and of course, it seemed like no one cared.Next, not even the teacher.
"O-oh...." Flora returned to her seat, embarrassed.
The next to come down was a boy whom Lúcifer considered very "emo" because his bangs hid one of his hairs, he wore an overcoat that touched the ground, he was eccentric, and didn't seem to care about the stares, because in his, there was only boredom, along with an aura of impatience.
"Noah. I don't care about you enough, don't expect us to get along. Unlike other black wizards, I fully embraced magic, and I don't seek to be accepted. Tsk!" - he soon manifested a book in his hands - "This is the grimório de sangue, my power, do your best with your abilities, the grimório likes to learn and observe."
Impressed glances went to him, more about the item he carried than his presentation itself.
"A blood grimoire? Grimoires are usually rare, only one in a million talents manifest them... Right in this weird guy's hand?" thought Lúcifer.
"Hmph! What an eccentric figure, but apparently he has many pages in his grimoire. He possesses great magic, but that doesn't help you at all, young man, my first lesson as a teacher is this."
"I didn't ask you to teach me anything." Noah retorted, rudely. "With one of these, even archmages would have problems."
"Such insolence, surely this will lead to your downfall.."
The two stared at each other wildly, but soon the boy went to his seat.
But as he returned, he passed by the desk of the next person who was going to introduce herself.
"Sometimes, we shouldn't be proud of something that, in the first place, doesn't belong to us."
"What did you just say?"
"I said that... thinking you've reached your peak, while carrying a book chosen by destiny, doesn't put you above others."And then she stared at him, Lúcifer looked back to see who was speaking.
A girl with long hair, wearing gothic-style clothes, a cold face that didn't hesitate, almost as if everything she said was a new certainty.
Noah quickly manifested the grimoire, hovering over his hand.
"You should know your place, woman."Suddenly, several demonic black claws emerged from the pages of the book, and went towards where she was sitting, destroying everything in their path.
That black wizard had just attacked with the intention of killing the girl.
"W-w-w-what?!" - Flora jumped, she was close and a piece of the desk hit her head, making her jump in fright. "Professor! They're fighting."
"It's not against the rules to fight, there's only something against it if they kill each other.""Killing is only allowed as a side effect of the NEO tournament," he commented, as if it didn't matter.
Lúcifer sighed, knowing that the teacher really wouldn't care. On the other hand, he also saw that the girl hadn't died.
His eyes caught her movements, which occurred instantaneously; the moment the hands attacked, she had jumped to the desk behind her, and now Noah realized she was standing on top, staring at him.
And holding in her hand, a grimoire also hovered.
"Yours...!" Noah noticed what she was carrying. "This is...!"
"Oh oh!" The teacher was also impressed. "There are some interesting guys here."
A red book, bleeding miasma on its own, as if made from the body of a demon.
"Damn, look what we have here!" behind Lúcifer's desk, he heard the comment of a tall boy, with glasses so reflective that his eyes were barely visible, along with straight hair with a pompadour. "The demon grimoire!! How incredible!"
"I've never heard of that one." Lúcifer commented under his breath.
"Ah! They're rare, my demon king friend, if a blood grimoire is only born through a one-in-a-million talent. The demon grimoire has a 1 in 1 billion probability! It's the pinnacle of a miracle a black wizard can achieve!"
"My 'demon king friend'?" he commented, incredulously at that nickname.
Black chains emerged from all sides, from blind spots beyond the dimension they existed in, and completely restrained the boy, all his magic vanished, while the blood grimoire disappeared, as he had no mana to continue manifesting it.
"Hmph! I didn't expect to find a cheater in this academy. For someone who says that being chosen by destiny didn't put them above, the choice of chains as abilities to stop me is quite curious."
"I won't hurt you, just drain your mana. You must know the potential of the grimoire, the one-in-a-billion potential, so I ask you to understand that acting this way will only make us enemies."
"Haha! So you were bothered by my challenge? I'm sorry, I'll become God and erase this stupid grimoire from existence."
"Ugh," she avoided commenting further, merely causing the chains to dissipate.Noah clenched his fist, and when he turned to face forward, the girl was no longer there. She was on the stage, waiting to introduce herself.
"Katarina, wielder of the demon grimoire. I have a curse that I always try to restrain, please take care of me." she said, completely apathetic.
And even without expressing anything, it was intriguing how she seemed to carry a mysterious aura, and at the same time, so full of power, that it made everyone else seem like nothing before her.
Lúcifer felt a certain embarrassment, his eccentric presentation was nothing compared to that girl.
"If there's a black wizard with enough power to become God in this academy.... It could only be this girl."
He concluded, filled with dread.
