Chapter 1: The man with a smile

This is the story of a boy named Jonas. Jonas lived a normal life. He lived with his step-dad and mother. Everything could've been fine. But something happened one night. That fateful night of February 18th. 

Jonas was asleep, when he woke up in the middle of the night. He glanced at the clock. 1AM. He decided to go downstairs to get some water. As he walked down the flight of stairs, everything seemed eerily quiet. He brushed it off as a quiet night, but he couldn't have been more wrong. As he entered the living room, he noticed something. A silhouette in the shadows. It moved closer to Jonas. It's movements lumbering, as if it was carrying a heavy bag on it. It appeared to be a man. He wore a tuxedo, stained with blood. His face bore a curved black smile. No lips, no teeth. Just a curved black line. The figure raised his knife, and swung. Jonas barely got out of the way in time. It was clear. This figure was out for blood. 

Jonas ran up the stairs, the figure chasing behind. Jonas ran into his room, and quickly locked the door. He had to hide, or his blood would spill on the floor.  The bed seemed like the best option, so he chose that. As soon as he crawled under the bed, the figure broke the door down. The figure moved towards the bed, searching for Jonas. Jonas held his breath, terrified of making a single noise. The figure lumbered closer to the bed. And closer. And then turned and left.

Jonas knew he had to escape. So that's exactly what he did.
