Chapter 13:
STAR AWESOME
“His will reached Amanda. She is your leader now, and I am your enemy.”
Her words echoed, and the four of them stood unable to understand whether it was a joke or the bitter truth. They stood in confusion when beneath each one of them, a symbol appeared. They were about to jump out when lightning rose from within, disintegrating them into shreds.
Only sparing Dacoria.
“Let’s see if this works,” the sorceress smirked.
He stood blank; he turned to where Shar stood, and then Philomena and even Damian. His body quivered as he wobbled on his feet, unable to keep a steady composure. He murmured, “W-why?”
Tentacles ripped out of his shirt, all directed in her direction before he could touch her. “Why?” he shouted.
He paused, crying.
“I made you a power taker, a manoid feeder,” she spoke softly. “Why do you think I did so?”
“I-I don’t know,” Dacoria spoke, his voice hoarse from the tears he was trying to hold back.
“I taught you a very special magic, a magic only you could use, because of your desire to save everyone.” She yelled, “Go to Cot and grab what you desire.”
Shreds from the window next to the dining room fell all around. A blonde girl leaped in. She looked at them, then her eyes widened and her mouth scowled. “P-power taker?”
She stood straight, her eyes blank, and she looked at the sorceress. “All power takers except the queen were killed.”
She covered her mouth. “S-so it was true, so y-you committed the sin.”
The sorceress chuckled, “Yes, beloved Amanda, I changed this boy’s species from human to power taker, and I also killed the other three members.”
“Amanda,” Dacoria remembered the king’s promised daughter.
Amanda shouted, “Changing species is forbidden.”
The sorceress smiled. “I know that’s why, along with your father’s will, you received orders to execute me.”
“Princess Amanda, please don’t,” Dacoria yelled.
“Shut up, power taker,” Amanda glared.
Dacoria shivered, scared.
The sorceress took a step to Dacoria, placing her hands over his shoulders. “Amanda, don’t disobey your beloved father’s will; this is the power taker mentioned in his will.”
“You know, what was in it?” She snarled, slightly confused.
The sorceress smiled. “Of course I know; wasn’t I always with him?”
Amanda looked at Dacoria, then at the sorceress. She pulled out her sword. The sound of the bell rang, followed by the king’s holographic projection. Everyone froze, staring at the king.
My beloved Amanda, my brave girl,
The computer must have detected your sword, so this was automatically projected.
I am sorry, Amanda
If you are here, then I must be dead.
Dacoria let out a wail and collapsed onto the floor, crying. Amanda wiped away her tears, and the sorceress just stood blankly.
I want three favors from you
One, please take care of these people from another dimension.
It’s my life’s accomplishment.
I had only one dream
And I could never see it come true.
Amanda yelled at the holograph, “I know.” She burst into tears. “I know… that’s why I am here, to make your dream come true.”
Second, there will be a power taker here
I beg you
Spare that child’s life
Please take care of that child
“Father, why did you create the hungriest species out there?” Amanda scowled, “A species lacking self-control.”
“This one can control himself; he is quite good at it,” the sorceress added smugly
And lastly,
I am sure if the power taker is present
Then the sorceress is a sinner
Let her leave
Alive
Amanda’s eyes widened. “I-I can’t,” she said, staring at the sorceress. “Immortality never existed.”
“It does,” the sorceress added. “Dacoria, vanish to Cot.”
Amanda stared, mumbling, “Dacoria is a demon language word for warrior.”
.
.
.
After that, I never saw the sorceress again.
I heard she committed even more sins
But for me, that doesn’t matter
She was special to me
Even if she did many horrible things
To this day, Amanda refers to her as a traitor who lives in dark forces
She made me a hero
she gave me the power to save them
.
.
.
Star awesome members grew in number,
A lot of people came.
I like them all
.
.
Dacoria entered the lounge skipping. He grabbed Yuzuru’s arm. “Hi, Yuzuru, you know I saw a dream. there was a big itchy book; it was pink and then it was green…”
Yuzuru stared at him blankly. I have to escape. “U-um, Dac, why don’t you talk to Vivian?”
Dacoria looked at her, he blushed, hiding his face in Yuzuru’s arm, shaking his head in no. Yuzuru looked at him smugly. “Hey, if you got a crush on her, just tell her already.”
Dacoria stared. “What is ‘crush?”
Yuzuru shoved him to the nivas, and they shoved him to Sen.
“Hi, Sen.”
Sen looked at Dacoria, then smirked, “Why don’t you go tell your dream to Ren?”
Dacoria smiled, “okie.”
Dacoria ran down the hall, and he paused in front of a room. He reached for the knob, and he mumbled, “It’s no use; Toby isn’t here." He continued walking down the hall until he saw the room with the title ‘Ren.’ Dacoria entered.
There was blood on the floor, and he stared at it for a while.
“R-ren”
“I killed him.”
Dacoria turned blankly. Sen stood at the doorway. Dacoria took a step towards him. “Why?”
Sen sighed, “I wanted to confirm something.”
“What was so important that you had to kill him?” Dacoria shouted.
Sen grabbed Dacoria’s shoulders, pulling him closer. “Your incompetence caused us to lose a person. I wanted to confirm if your ability is still working.”
A tentacle ripped out from his back; it was pointed towards the sen.
Sen chuckled, “Fine, kill me too, but at least go to Cot; you can’t find Toby anywhere. I had two hypotheses: one, that suicide members cannot return, and two, that batches or your powers have failed us.”
Dacoria stood blankly, Toby. He vanished.
Sen sat down on the floor, his head buried in his legs. “It wasn’t me,” he mumbled.
“It was definitely you.”
A black-haired guy emerged from the corner and sat down next to Sen. “The way you stabbed Ren.”
Sen looked away. “Shut up, Soren, as if you didn’t know.”
Soren patted his head, and Sen jerked away his hand. “Yeah, I get it; you were concerned about the dead land. That’s why you had to send someone there.” He paused. “But you didn’t have to plot that much just to see an expression, though that was funny.”
Sen glared. “I—“ he sighed, “I did what you told me to do.”
Soren stood up. “No, you did what our blackmailers told us to do.”
.
.
Everything was white, pure white, except for a black-haired boy and Ren. Ren sat huddled in a corner; the black-haired guy sat next to him, patting his shoulders.
“It’s okay; you aren’t the first person who ended up sending up here.”
Ren groaned, “It’s still wrong.”
“Yeah, he never killed unless they were in a fighting tournament.”
“I am not getting you.”
“Yeah, they even die in wars; even Sen came up here multiple times.
Dacoria appeared; as soon as his eyes met Ren’s, he jumped onto him in a tight hug. “I am so happy you are here. Hi, Cot.”
Cot waved his hand
“You died too?” Ren spoke in shock.
Dacoria smiled. “No, Ren, I came to get you back.”
“I—is it possible?”
Dacoria stated, “Oh, you didn’t know? This is a special dead land where only we, star awesome members, come when we die.”
Go to Cot and grab what you desire.
Dacoria grabbed Ren’s hand, and in a blink, they were in the verandah.
