Chapter 60:
When I bought That Suspect Baroque Closet and Lamp, I Didn't Expect to Be a Mundane Wizard for the Demon Prince of Another World
Lux was left in a stable position post Kairo and Genie's Star Jump to Earth. Specifically for the people of Lucasyna, which was a positive overall outcome.
A few months after the Star Jump incident, The Demon Prince Lyon was unanimously crowned as the Demon King of Lucasyna. As no evidence of Alric's body could be found within whatever was left of the Shadow Cabal's Laboratory Maze city and their headquarters: a bit of mortar here, a body piece there, but nothing that anyone could say was substantially left standing.
Lyon wasted no time in ensuring the remnant Shadow Cabal forces were swiftly eradicated and no longer a threat. He spent time and energy reinforcing the security of his country and setting new rules to ensure nobility was an earned right proven by loyalty.
The people were relieved and ecstatic to have him as their king. The civil war was over. A new glorious age on Lucasyna had begun.
Lyon promoted Court Visor Jan to be a Governor for Etshian. His job was to repair the country's damage and reconfirm it to his sovereignty. Aldrick-pasha was appointed as Chief of Security for the Alurian Gardens Palace.
Only Lady Foster knew of his true heritage, aside from Lyon. She was more than willing to keep it that way. She and her son joined her husband, leaving Lady Candice the sole owner of Manning Mansion back at the Palace of Princes.
Lady Candice was granted a title of Honorary Noble, and given the duty of ensuring fair trade among the common marketplaces. Her blunt wit and strong people skills ensured that cheaters couldn't prosper. Lyon was happy that her fair way of handling things was bringing in profits.
Jan's old Squad-7 were assigned new duties. Lyt-guard remained in Adell-guard's squad, where both of them were promoted to the frontline to work under Kalious-janissary.
Henka-guard went with Lyon to the capital palace, where he became captain of his own squad to cause some nobles headaches.
The Sekkat Priests were given back title rights to their homeland near the south coast region, which Alric had previously seized during a bloody conquest years back. A temple to the Goddess Musrami was reconstructed, and many more malkins chose to forgo their nekamata evolutions and practice the ways of peace. Especially, when Demon King Lyon signed a 1000-year peace pact, which made a lot of malkins happy cats.
Lady Bluesteed took over the Palace of Princes as the proxy ruler for the Demon King. Her benevolence and loyalty to Lyon, and the people, had earned her that right. Her first action was the dismantling of the Harem, and repurposing it to be a proper educational institution for commoner women, of any race, who wanted to earn the right to be a noble. Lyon was in favor, considering the long term gains of having higher skilled people on his side.
At the Time of the Star Jump (What Happened to the Former Demon King)
Alric cursed as he saw the entire lab become a vortex. He was sucked in, tumbling about the turbulent space until he eventually flew out of a closet to land on a sleeping man.
The man was too old and weak to handle the shock of the stranger landing on top of him. He instantly died of a heart attack from the impact.
It didn't take much effort for Alric to recover his strength and figure out where he was. He was able to absorb knowledge of his surroundings from the dead man, as he was doing so a plan was forming in his head.
"Steven Gates. CEO of Nexus Technologies." He read the corporation security badge that had been lying on the dead man's computer desk.
He chuckled when he realized he could use his magic, but his cosmic power was a no-go. It didn't matter. In a world with no magic, the basics would be more than enough.
Alric eased into the computer chair and turned on the laptop. He scrolled through the internet until he found information about Kairo. It was an obituary about his death.
"Huh, interesting." His eyes caught a snippet of an article about climate change, his face eased into a devious grin as he felt his life-mission was still in play.
The battle for Earth was about to begin.
