Chapter 13:

Attracting Investment

The Noble Demon King

Tina didn't quite understand what Caelan meant by the other people here being strange.

As a Royal Knight, what strange things hadn't she seen?

However, as soon as she followed Caelan out the door, she turned around and saw a Skull Head almost pressed against her face.

“Ah!”

Tina instinctively threw a punch, directly causing the Skull Head’s head to spin three times on its neck before drooping down.

Then she watched as the Skull Head raised its hand and pressed its head back into place.

This Skull Head was even wearing… flowery shorts?

“This is Skull Head. It has been guarding your door for the past three days,” Caelan stepped forward and introduced.

Although Skull Head was an Undead, it was too exposed, so to avoid offending public morals, Caelan specifically found a pair of shorts from the Previous Demon King’s room for it to wear.

Of course, besides Skull Head, the other Skeletons were not left out.

The other four Skeleton Soldiers also came around the corner in a line at this time, their flowery shorts of various colors, giving off a strong summer and beach vibe.

Caelan naturally didn't neglect to introduce them: “They are Skeleton A, B, C, and D, but you only need to know that because I can’t tell them apart either, hahahaha…”

Tina: “?”

She had never imagined that monsters would help guard her door.

While Tina’s mind was in chaos, Caelan pulled her and took the elevator downstairs.

“This is the… castle owner’s room. Just make sure you don’t go in there,” Caelan pointed to the main hall’s door and emphasized to Tina again.

However, the door was currently closed, and the key was on him, so it wasn't a big problem.

Immediately after, they arrived outside.

Upon reaching the courtyard, Tina looked up, marveling at the castle's grand and magnificent appearance, though the pointed decorations were a bit strange. Then she saw, across the drawbridge, two Kobolds, one tall and one short, one fat and one thin, grunting and climbing up from the moat, each carrying a bucket of water in their hands and mouths.

And just ahead, a massive Beast Dragon was coiled on the ground, seemingly sunbathing and napping.

If she wasn't mistaken, that was a… Dragon?!

Tina was wondering if she had seen wrongly when she heard Caelan introduce: “The tall one is Panhu, the short one is Fu, and then there’s that…”

Caelan pointed at the Beast Dragon from afar.

“That one is called Stone. They all live here and are my… hmm… subordinates.”

Tina, however, still hadn't reacted.

“Is that… a Dragon?”

“Hmm, a Beast Dragon…” Caelan was introducing when, seemingly sensing their presence, Stone suddenly stood up, flapping its small wings, and hopped over to the two of them, squatting down and grinning foolishly.

“…It’s degenerated, a bit like a dog. Don’t mind it,” Caelan said, standing on tiptoes and patting Stone’s head.

He was wondering if he shouldn’t let Stone play with Panhu and Fu so much.

Why did this Dragon look so much like a dog now?

And Tina still hadn't recovered from the shock… after all, she had truly never seen this before.

Dragons were legendary creatures, and since they were legends, ordinary people naturally couldn’t see them.

These mysterious ancient beings disliked being disturbed, so wherever Dragons lived, it was always a perilous place difficult for ordinary people to reach.

Only the Saint Luse Empire, a member of the Order Alliance, had once signed a contract with a giant Dragon, allowing them to request the Dragon’s assistance in times of national crisis.

For most people, the existence of Dragons was like a fairy tale.

Even a degenerated Beast Dragon was not something ordinary people could see.

“This… you…” Tina didn’t know how to speak. After thinking for a while, she asked, “Are you a Necromancer?”

“No,” Caelan shook his head.

“Then a Beast Tamer?”

“Not that either.”

“Then… ”

“Hmm… you can call me…” Caelan thought carefully.

“…A Pokémon Trainer.”

Tina: “?”

“Never mind, none of that matters.”

Caelan waved his hand, becoming serious.

“The main reason I asked you to come out this time is to discuss something.”

Tina also became serious: “Please speak.”

Caelan then waved his hand towards Panhu and Fu.

“Please look over there.”

Tina followed his gaze, a little confused.

“Do you see that vegetable patch?” Caelan said, pulling out a twig and starting to draw on the ground.

“Look, young lady, the soil here is good, with abundant Aether and rich fertility. Everything grown here is good stuff… Remember those herbs I gave you? Those were freshly grown here… Look, right there! The yield is really high!”

Caelan pointed the twig at the herb garden and continued.

“Let me tell you, this large area of land belongs to the city, and it can all be cultivated. My current idea is to grow crops like corn, potatoes, and vegetables in this area… and this area; this area can be used to grow herbs, and if there’s an opportunity in the future, they can be processed and sold; the mountain over here conveniently has no trees, so fruit trees can be planted, and the open space behind can be used for breeding. I’ve probably considered several types suitable for breeding here…”

Caelan rattled on for a long time, leaving Tina confused: “You mean…”

“I mean, everything is ready now, except for one thing…” Caelan narrowed his eyes and raised a finger.

“…A lack of investment.”

Tina finally understood, a look of sudden realization on her face.

But then, her expression became a little embarrassed: “But I’m penniless right now…”

“That’s not a problem,” Caelan clapped his hands, looking confident.

“Although we don’t have money, we have our bodies!”

“…Hmm?” Tina took half a step back.
