Chapter 11:

IT WASN'T ME

STAR AWESOME

"I have been fine," Alexander smiled.

If I recall correctly, Alexander made a friend in this world, so he left Star Awesome to explore this place with that person. Yuzuru scratched his nape. He glanced at Sen before looking back at Alexander. "So dude, how's that friend of yours?"

Alexander twirled his hair; with a smile, he added, "He is great."

Yuzuru sighed. This guy is even harder to talk to than before. He once again briefly directed his gaze to Sen, with Alexander doing the same.

"Is she Sen's girlfriend?" Alexander pointed at the two.

"Huh, n-no."

Alexander kept his gaze directed at the pair across the road; he wasn't even looking at Yuzuru. "Yuzuru, so the batches are working?"

Yuzuru's eyes widened. He stood blankly.

Alexander glanced over at Yuzuru and chuckled, "I overheard you both."

"Oh, o-oh," Yuzuru mumbled. I can swear we kept our voices low.

"I can see that the two of you never quit smoking." Alexander was looking at the cigarette butts.

"Yeah," Yuzuru bent to pick them up, then shoved them in his pocket.

"Yuzuru..." Alexander smirked, brushing his hair off his forehead. He paused for a while before continuing, "You are the reason behind his suicide?"

A shiver went down his spine, and he gasped for air, trying his best to keep a firm composure. "No, it wasn't me."

Alexander chuckled, "Haha, classic, it wasn't me, haha. Amanda hates that phrase so much."

"I am going, idiot." Yuzuru turned to leave, but Alexander grasped onto him, pulling him in; he was pressed against the wall.

"Yuzuru, you can pretend in front of everyone but me; I can read that mind of yours," he spoke under his breath, keeping a firm grip on the blond.

"What the...idiot, you can't read minds." Yuzuru paused, noticing Alexander's eerie smile; he shivered. "You can't...right?"

Alexander let go of him. "He killed himself; that's what Sen told everyone, and you were the main bully, so that means it was your fault."

Yuzuru backed away, gasping for air; sweat popped over his head. "I-it wasn't me. I didn't—"

Alexander smirked and bent down to Yuzuru. "You trust Sen's words too blindly."

Yuzuru blinked, and Sen glanced over across the road. Sen wasn't there. "Sen," he shouted. He looked back at Alexander, who too had disappeared. Did he vanish just like that? In his place was a bottle of black liquid, "looks like a potion." He picked it up, examining it before running off to the other side of the road.

Frequently bumping into cars, he finally made it across to the sidewalk. He looked around, trying to find Sen.

He closed his eyes; he sighed, and as he lifted his lids, hues of gold escaped from underneath, revealing shining golden eyes.

His vision changed; he was looking above at that hooded woman, surrounded by dripping pipelines and a few trash bins. She was bent over him, her hands on his collar. Her face bore a scowl, but without any sound, it was unclear what she was saying.

The golden shine dissolved, and the scenery changed before his eyes, turning back to the same sidewalk. Yuzuru gasped for a while and ran off. When I saw through Sen's eyes, I presumed he was in an alley. I have to hurry; he was bent down. Though she didn't seem to be hurting him, I should still hurry.

He passed a few until he stood outside the one with Sen sitting on the ground. Yuzuru shone his eyes; a golden manoid ball formed between Sen and her, and the ray erupted from it, attacking the woman.

The manoid dispersed into thin air. The woman sighed, "weak".

"w-what the—" Yuzuru stood blankly. "I have seen someone do this before, but that was Dacoria."

"Now, is he the only power taker?" she chuckled.

Sen stood up, and he looked at Yuzuru. "She is a real power taker, unlike Dacoria."

Yuzuru shivered, "b-but the only living real power taker is—"

Sen glanced over at her. "Yes, she is the queen power taker."

The woman adjusted her hood. She glanced over at Sen. "What I told you is the truth; you are being toyed with." She turned her gaze to Yuzuru. "And that potion you got is a black potion."

In a snap, she disappeared.

Yuzuru looked at the bottle of potion. Sen snatched it, opening it, and he gulped down the whole thing.

"S-sen?" Yuzuru stood blankly. Sen grabbed his shoulders. "You met Alexander?"

"Y-yes?" Yuzuru tried to smile, but his muscles spasmed, wiping off the sweat from his forehead. "Sen, you are okay, right?"

"I am perfectly fine, but promise me you won't tell about all of this to anyone, and I mean everyone."

"s-sen, all of this doesn't seem okay; we should tell—"

"It's all your doing," Sen glared, tightening his grip. "You bullied Toby, and because of you, he killed himself, all because of you and your stupid antics; they are taking advantage of me."

Yuzuru froze under his grip, blood rushed through his veins, and he stood speechless. This hurts. I didn't mean any of this.

Ren lay on his stomach, his face buried in his pillow. The clock ticked, being the only sound in the room. Ren turned over, staring at the ceiling. He glanced over at the clock. "12:30... I shouldn't have skipped dinner, or at least I should have taken what Riley brought for me."

He sat soundly; yeah, there were some snacks in the lounge. Hopping off the bed, he went over to the door. Before he could open it, his heartbeat rose, and tears began gushing out of his eyes. With shivering hands, he wiped his tears, trying to ignore all the flashes of last night, and finally stepped into the corridor.

I will be brave

I will fight my fears

He took a turn, and there was a lingering silence

He entered the moonlit lounge. Near the entrance, he noticed a white head. "Toby?" he called out.

Toby turned, his face lit up with joy on seeing Ren. "Hi Ren, I am glad to meet you again today."

Ren went up to him. "What are you doing?"

"I am moon gazing," he said, looking back at the moon in a soft tone. "I love the moon."

Ren looked at the pure cyan moon, which was in two pieces, touching both with many cyan rock pieces floating out from the top. The patches on the moon seemed to be full of water.

Ren noticed another moon, then another, finally realising that there were many moons; most were cyan, but others were purple, pink, white, and red. Not all the moons were broken.

Toby glanced at Ren, who was mesmerised. He giggles, "Can't sleep, Ren?"

"Yeah, and what about you?"

"I always come here from 12:01 to 1:21."

He repeated the time in his head and glanced over at the clock; it was 1:00. "Why do you do that? I mean, that's too random."

Toby looked at the moon. "I don't know, it's just been this way. Well enough about me, what about you? Did you get any powers yet?"

"No-no, but Dac said he has a good power in his mind."

"Dac is reliable, kid," Toby spoke softly.

Ren stared at Toby. "What power do you have?"

Toby giggled nervously. "Ahmmmm, I don't have any; I can't use powers."

Ren processed his words. "W-what do you mean?"

Toby was all red in embarrassment. "It's just I am a weakling, and I am one of those people who can't use powers."

"Why?" Ren was nervous. No wonder he was bullied

"There is no reason. I have been that way ever since I came," he spoke while caressing his cheek

Realisation struck, and

Ren panicked, "What if I am too?"

Toby laughed. "If you were, Dac would have sensed it and told you...so don't worry."
