Chapter 31:
Power of the Seed
Bo-lo-to
Ka-ma-la screamed as Se-le-ni simply vanished from the spot. I grinned. My creation was even more powerful than I had imagined. I turned back to the others, and Albin growled as he struggled to break free from the weave holding him down.
“You… do not dare to do this to us.”
“Oh, but I do. Don’t you see? You’ve lost. The Seed holds no power, and you will all lose your lives because of it.”
“Stop it!”, Ka-ma-la pleaded.
“No.”
I walked over and halted next to her.
“Why would I stop when everything I’ve ever dreamed of is just within reach?”
I walked over to my father.
“And so it comes to an end for you as well, Joshua.”
“Don’t you dare”, he snarled.
“Too late.”
I snapped my fingers, and his figure faded. There was a sudden bustle, and I spun around. It was Me-la-ni, standing on the other side of the room. I stared at her. How had she found me?
“Leave them alone!”
She stepped over the floor, and I waited for the weave to take hold of her, but she walked across unharmed. I snapped my fingers, but it didn’t move. She halted some distance from me, staring at me with eyes burning of rage.
“Let them go.”
“So you decided to join us. I’m glad.”
I stepped to the side and raised my hand behind my back, but nothing happened. What was she doing? She wasn’t even a magician.
“Would you like to go next?”, I offered.
“Let them go.”
I was just about to resort to physical force when another door opened and Si-ri stepped out. I turned to her.
“Oh, so you decided to come after all? I thought these things weren’t to your liking?”
I waited for her to come over to my side, but she didn’t move. The realisation came slower than I'd expected.
“No, you haven’t…?”
“You’re not the only one who can choose sides.”
The witch…
“So that’s what you’ve been doing when it’s been ‘too much’ for you?”
She nodded, still not moving from her spot. I turned to Ka-ma-la. Me-la-ni was still standing to the side, watching me. I raised my hand, expecting the weave I’d created to obey me, but as I lowered my arm, I felt it crumbling. The room dissolved before my eyes, the very weave I’ve constructed falling apart. Why..? I turned, but the floor broke underneath me and I tumbled.
