Me-la-ni

A sharp pain in my side made me stumble and almost fall to the ground. Si-ri hurried over, taking hold of my arm and pulling me close.

“What’s happening?”

I slumped down against the wall, still pressing my hand against my ribs.

“I… don’t know.”

She looked up at the sky.

“So he did activate it”, she whispered.

I stared at her.

“Activate what?”

“He’s been building an alternative weave, one that would take over and penetrate this world as the weave we know. I never thought he would dare to trigger it.”

“What does that mean?”

“I don’t know, I don’t know the consequences of it.”

I struggled to stand up.

“We have to do something. We cannot just stay here.”

She glanced at me.

“I will take us as close as I can. But I cannot guarantee we won’t get trapped.”
