Chapter 7:
I Summoned as a Hero?! But I’m Actually the Demon King!
The sky above the capital of Elyzaria was overcast that afternoon. The air was filled with a bad feeling. I, Leon, had just returned from the forest after testing my powers.
Near the church, I stopped. Several church soldiers were running in a panic. I didn't go in. I just leaned against the outer wall, letting my ears hear what was happening inside.
"Seraphine and Layla... They're in great danger in the village of Terraine. They're overwhelmed by Undead and armored Golems," someone yelled.
My eyes narrowed. I scoffed quietly. "Tch. So it finally happened..."
My hand clenched, then I slowly raised my right palm into the air. The tracking magic I had previously planted on Seraphine was now active.
"I should have known you two would cause trouble," I muttered.
A blue aura enveloped my body, and in an instant... I disappeared from that spot.
In the village of Terraine, a fog of death enveloped the village. The air was full of the smell of blood. Layla and Seraphine were surrounded. They were at their breaking point. Igor, the Necromancer, appeared.
"May your deaths strengthen the Demon King's army," Igor mumbled.
Just as a large Golem moved to attack, a strange wind whistled through the arena. The Golem that was about to jump suddenly exploded from within. Everyone's eyes widened. Then—a figure in black and silver landed in the middle of the battlefield.
"Damn it... Who are you!?" Igor shouted in a panic.
I turned my body. My eyes were cold. A faint smile hung on my lips.
"Me? I'm just a hero... who happened to be passing by," I replied.
Seraphine and Layla recognized the voice. "Leon!?"
I turned to them. "You two clumsy girls. You really are a handful."
Without warning, I lunged with a speed that couldn't be seen by the naked eye. One punch destroyed a Golem. One kick knocked back 10 undead at once. Igor backed away, his face terrified.
