Chapter 0:
JANKEN
Once, the world was one.
One day, a mysterious phenomenon — later known as “Janken” — split the world and its people according to the “rock-paper-scissors” system.
Thus were born the three great nations: the Rock Nation, the Paper Nation, and the Scissor Nation.
Legend has it that in the year 500 after Janken, the dreaded “Great War” will erupt – and only the strongest Nation will survive!
After the Janken, across the nations, some individuals began to be born with elemental blood. This rare blood granted its bearer a unique and advanced mastery over the base elements of their own nations: rock, paper and scissors.
With the legend of the Great War looming, the nations entered a fierce race to grow stronger. Those with elemental blood used their mastery to develop powerful military systems, propelling the evolution of their nations known as “stages”.
In the Rock Nation, mastery over stone led to the “first stage”, when they expanded their mastery to earth in general.
Then, came the “second stage”, when they forged weapons from a blend of the earth’s strongest minerals and metals — massive and indestructible swords, hammers and axes of overwhelming destructive power.
Thus, this people became known as — Vikings.
In the Paper Nation, since paper was derived from plant fibers, in the “first stage” they learned to master the plants themselves.
That mastery soon extended to the elements that are essential to the very life of the plants: air, earth, water — and even fire that arose from the combustion of wood with oxygen and the heat in the air.
So, they reached the “second stage”, when the mastery of all those elements led to the manifestation of special powers, then emerged a powerful nation of — ninjas and samurais.
In the Scissor Nation, by mastering the scissors, they evolved to the “first stage” when they could master the metal itself, ushering in a golden age of metallurgy.
And, in the “second stage”, with the expertise in metallurgy, they developed firearms and became known as — Cowboys.
So, in the present day, the Rock Nation is home to Vikings, the Paper Nation to ninjas and samurais, and the Scissor Nation to cowboys.
