Good service. I looked at my questionable business partners. Check?

We had returning customers, but few stayed for longer than two hours.

What made someone stay at a resort? I thought to myself.

A good mascot?

It was after the help of a Golem monster that I was finally able to manifest gemstone hands of sorts with [Ability: Rocky Arms]. Following this power-up scene and a sensation like I was piloting a giant robot about to reach the stars, it turned out that I was lame and unable to move since my arms required floating. Yet, clients had been and were still treating me as the spa mascot.

Therefore, that wasn’t it.

Ding! The New Customer Bell rang.

I thought of this in terms of modern-day Japan. For example, while on vacation, what would make me want to visit a theme park? The thrill rides, the performances. Those were all products and experiences.

So, what was it that made me want to stay? For multiple days, even. Rather, the question should be: What makes me able to stay for multiple days?

That was it! Lodging and food!

“Hotel and food services!” It was so obvious! Looking around our spa, I could clearly see that this must be what made the difference between a common community sento and a roaring resort!

We needed actual mattresses, not Sharlotte’s odd ones made up of fresh towels!

Just then, screams took over. “Come here, toward me! Out of the pool!”

“Over there!”

“Quickly, children!”

Our customers swam and ran out and away with greater panic than if a mega shark had spawned in my waters. They clung to my side walls.

“What’s the big idea? After the auditor’s visit, nothing can surprise– DEAR MOTHER OF GOD!!!”

An orb of light at the receptionist's desk was crackling.

“I’m so sorry!” The Electric Ball Monster bowed to Rin, who had her straight hair standing on end due to the static.

“What brings you here, sir? Terrorist and tourist are two very, very different things!”

“Yeah, yeah! Tell him off, Rin!”

The floating monster sobbed in apology. He merely wanted to visit the all-famous spa that was inclusive of everyone. He has never been able to take a good bath in his whole life.

Wait. Floating.

“Tell him off if you wanna lose your job.”

“What?! Why the sudden change, Master?!”

“I thought this place didn’t discriminate. What does Section 3 Code 54 say?”

“Th-Thoroughly wash all disposable towels!”

“Mm. Got it backwards. Section 54 Code 3.”

“Rin is assigned to all sections above. Did you even read the manual you made me write–?!”

“In any case, I stand alongside your marvelous morals! This gentleman could be my answer to gaining the least bit of mobility back! And he’s a client!”

“I really only want to try bathing, that’s all…”

“I don’t pity you, Electric Sir. I wanna see you happy! This may take a while, but we’ll have to reschedule your visit, um,”

“Sparky.”

“Sparky. For now, Sharlotte, send for the world’s greatest scientist!!”

“Ah? What’s going on?” She was so relaxed that she hadn’t even left the pool.

“It appears you have another genius idea, master. But what’s a scientist?”

Right, the Middle Ages.

“Send for the world’s greatest alchemic researcher!! I have questions and matters I’d like to confirm! Sparky, jump in and help motivate my wonderful business partner!”

“I’ll go, I’ll go!” Her beautiful wings burst open.

“So, this is the famous Spa I’ve been hearing about? It’s like, totally cool!” The next day, a young gyaru-oh Wizard showed up. He had multiple ring earrings, white hair, and a large cap. He offered his services to anyone willing to pay the price.

“What the hell is wrong with this world?”

My scientific informant huddled with me.

“Hm, hm.”

“Yup, and.” His large hat bobbed.

“[Purify Water Level 10], Huuuuaaa…! [Level 50]…! Huuuuaaaaah!! [Purify Water Level 100]!!! [Holy Geyser Level 1].”

For Sparky, I cast these Abilities and channeled my waters into a pool separate from our onlooking crowds of clients.

“Sharlotte, you can step in first. Sparky will feel the greatness of our water next.” I wanted to use Sharlotte to show everyone that he was no danger.

“Why am I suddenly a showpiece? How have I angered you?”

“Just trust me on this one, my dear business partner. You’re the pretty face.”

“No, no, no!”

“Get it, you Angel Cat! Nooo! Drop me down! I don’t wanna be the guinea pig! I’m too young for another pitiful death!”

“Splash in, Sparky!”

Sharlotte threw me into the waters with the electric monster Sparky. Sploosh! “Uoooh!”

The purified water was working.

“Gahahaha! It works! Behold! Ultrapure water! Normally, the presence of salts and minerals makes regular spring water conductive. But this is ultrapure! It doesn’t have the impurities that could carry electricity through it!”

Wanting to believe me, Sharlotte dipped a toe in and soon her whole lower body in happy surprise.

“It’s true…”

“Like, totally!” The gyaru-oh Wizard announced. “Better yet, ultrapure water doesn’t break down into hydrogen and oxygen when an electric source is dropped in, so the water there is there to stay! You can bathe all you want!!”

“Thank you so much, Kazuki, everyone!” Sparky glowed and cried tears of joy. “It’s better than I ever could’ve imagined!”

“It’s tingly…” Sharlotte worried. “Why?”

“Let me explain!” The large Wizard’s hat bobbed. “Ultrapure water isn’t safe for normal people to swim in! It saps away the minerals from your skin. Also, extremely high voltage can cause a breakdown of ultrapure water’s insulating properties. If lightning repeatedly strikes your pool, both of you will be goners! Like, totally!”

“What?! Why didn’t you say anything?!”

“I didn’t hear about this either?!”

“The money really has gone to your head!”

“I’m telling you it hasn’t!”

“You really are gambling with your business partner’s life! Kazukiiii! I’d be furious… but it’s kinda pleasant.”

“Oh…?”

“Like it’s relaxing my muscles. It’s not my cup of tea, but some clients may be more than interested.”
