Chapter 5:

Chapter 5

Through Your Lens

On a breezy Tuesday morning, at S university he walked towards his first lecture for today.

As he approached the lecture hall, he encountered her.

“Hey!”

“How are you doing?” She asked him

– “I saw you at the park last saturday..” she added

For a moment there was silence…

“Were you taking photos at that time?” She asked him with enthusiasm

He replied “Yeah haha.”

The conversation went quick and short, he needed to attend his first lecture. Before leaving she asked him if he was free later. She suggested a practice that can help with his photography skills.

A few hours have passed, it is a sunny afternoon. They met up near the campus.

He asks her what they are going to practice.

She grinned “How about me? I’m a good subject haha!”

“The camera might break again if I take photos of you.” He jokingly said to her, she laughed and slapped his shoulder “You gotta pay for replacement then.”

She hands over her camera gently placing the strap on him

He positions himself and starts posing, adjusting the camera settings.

She readies herself for the camera.

“Three.. Two… One.”

She change into different pose mimicking popular models poses.

Another change made her expression more joyful this time.

For her final shot, she struck a pose similar to the model they’d seen in magazines.

He lowered his camera, grinning “My shots got better, or maybe because of the person infront?”

She taps his shoulder, looking away as if the compliment caught her off guard.

They check the output of photos. The output surprised her.

She grins “Your shots are way better than a few days ago.” “Was my presence really made it better?”

He grins slightly, hiding his flustered feelings. “Maybe I’m just natural.”

After reviewing the photos, satisfied enough.

“Hey I’m starving. Let’s grab some food.” She said with a generous smile.

They walk side by side, fitting the calm afternoon. Seemingly enjoying each other’s presence, minutes passed by. Unable to resist her growling stomach, they entered a convenience store. A quiet store with a lot of stories to be told.

She grabs a meal, nothing that fancy, just a simple convenience store food, packed neatly portion by portion. He opened the freezer for a drink, nothing special but enough to satisfy.

They sat down near the windows after purchasing their drinks. He glanced somewhere, and noticed a slogan on the building “One small step at a time. Capture every moment.”

Spacing out from thoughts. She called him “Hey you want a bite?”

He hesitates at first but she is persistent “Just a bite you’ll like this.”

He took a bite enjoying it.

“You look funny while eating haha.”

Surprised from her sudden capture, left frozen for a moment trying to process what just happened.

“Hey, take a picture of me too.” She asks him.

She grabs her food posing herself resembling a tv advertisement.

“Three two one..”

Both of them excitedly checked the output. Surprised on how the result turned out, she let out a small grin indicating she was satisfied with the result.

“You look similar to that popular model haha.” His response on the photo.

She got a bit embarrassed. “I don't look like her, we’re way too far.”

All of sudden she puts her hand on his shoulder whispering “Do you prefer that model or my version?”

Her words left him paused for a few seconds. She laughed it off and patted his shoulder “I am kidding I really don’t look like her.”
