Chapter 12:

Chapter 12: The Traitor's Identity

I Summoned as a Hero?! But I’m Actually the Demon King!

After the three of us made a plan to expose the traitor, I, Leonix, came up with the idea of buying Holy Water as a demon detector. The four of us—I, Seraphine, Layla, and Kafka—immediately went to the Central Church.

The atmosphere there felt somber. Many parishioners were praying, trying to find peace after the earthquake and strong winds that had occurred in the city.

Suddenly, Mr. Gordon stopped us. "Wait! What is this? You can't just come in!"

"Mr. Gordon," I said, stepping forward. "I want to ask you. Didn't you yourself say at the time that Seraphine was assigned to that village by Kafka?"

Gordon looked cornered. "Y-yes. Because Kafka-san herself assigned her! I saw it with my own head and eyes!"

Without further ado, Layla, who was already annoyed, immediately splashed the Holy Water at the old priest.

"Wait, Layla! What are you doing?!" Seraphine shrieked.

"Show me who you are, traitor! Or rather... you damn demon!" Layla shouted.

There was no reaction. Gordon was just shocked and angry. "What are you saying? You stupid girl!"

I looked around. My instinct as the Demon King told me something was wrong. My tracking eyes searched for the hidden demon magic energy. My gaze fell on a young sister named Anggie. Without hesitation, I splashed a drop of Holy Water on her body.

Sssssss...

Smoke billowed from Anggie's body. She screamed in pain, and her voice changed to a heavy, hoarse sound, like a man's voice.

"Damn it... you're not bad, Mr. Hero," she said, and then her body began to swell and transform into a giant Orc.

The parishioners panicked and screamed, running in every direction. Gordon, who saw the incident, was shocked.

"I-it can't be! Anggie... she... a demon?" he mumbled, in disbelief.

The Orc roared and began to rampage, trying to tear down the Church. The battle was inevitable.

"Witness the power of this Orc, Kafka and Hero!" it roared.

Kafka and I stepped forward. "You two take care of the parishioners and Gordon," I said to Layla and Seraphine. "We'll fight it!"

Kafka didn't waste any time. "Divine Shoot!" "Arrow Magic!"

A barrage of sacred magic and magical arrows flew, but the Orc was very tough. It was a fierce magical battle, but I knew, magic alone wouldn't be enough.

I drew the sword from my cloak. The sword was a gleaming gold, radiating a very powerful holy aura. Instantly, Seraphine, Layla, and even Kafka were shocked. The sword, which I was holding, was very similar to the sword of the first legendary Hero.

"Hurricane Slash!"

Combining my magical speed with the sword, I lunged. A series of slashes hit the Orc's body. The Orc screamed in pain, but it didn't give up.

This was the time. I activated my full power. "Exceed Charge!"

A double enhancement spell flowed into my body and my sword. With one final, fatal slash, the Orc's body shattered into pieces and disappeared into dust. I also obtained a Magic Mirror that could make someone transform at their will.

All the surviving parishioners cheered. Gordon, still in shock, stared blankly at the remaining ashes.

"It can't be! Anggie... the traitor?" he sobbed.

I could only stay silent. Seraphine came up to me, her face filled with pride.

"You did it, Leon! You did it!" she shouted.

"You did it again, Leon!" Layla also smiled, her face full of pride.

Kafka could only smile and was a little surprised by the sword I had used, because it was very similar to the one the first Hero had. She seemed to realize something, but didn't say anything.

Meanwhile, on a hill near the capital of Elyzaria, a mysterious woman appeared. Her hair was long and black, her eyes were golden, and her face was beautiful. She stared at the city.

"I finally found you, Demon King Leonix," she whispered, her voice cold and full of vengeance. "This time, I'll be the one to finish you with this sword of mine. Just you wait."

The woman was Shion, the Hero from Leon's old world.
